Last I heard the MK sticks (at least the Klassic ones) were $50. If the Tourney Editions are $100, that’s lovely.
Presently, I am getting the same feeling about the stick that I had about Aliens:CM, and that is, do not pre-order it.
I estimate it’s probably too light for my preferences anyway. :\
I decided to order one any ways then do a review, analysis, tear down and mod blog on the stick.
It can’t be as bad as doing the mod on the Dreamcast Innovation arcade stick I did a while back (I hope).
I’m very much in a similar boat. I’ve pretty much decided that I’ve got to buy it. I’ve got a small blog where I review collector’s editions of games and the Battle Edition is likely going to be my next review. I’m not going to go as far as modding (actually, I’m going so far as to hope that I won’t have to mod it), but I’m still probably going to open it up to do my review and analysis. However, since that will surely void the warranty, I’m still holding out on some details coming out in the coming days.

Most definitely. I usually post my links on gamefaqs, but since this involves the fighting game community, I’ll post here as well. That said, the best scenario would still be for WB to release the details so that we won’t have to wait for reviews.
Agreed. Some of you guys here are downright amazing. The fact that one of my sticks has a board made by someone (Toodles, obviously) in this community is wicked humbling.
Just checked the GS webpage & at first I got all excited since they redesigned it (crossed my fingers for more info on the stick)…but then found out it included the same info for the stick!..SMH! Since it’s so close to the launch date, I think it’ll be some generic components much like the SFAC stick had. Just hoping it’ll be easy to mod (assuming it doesn’t come with Sanwa/Seimitsu/iL/Suzo-Happ).
Just saw that someone on ebay listed 2 of the injustice sticks for sale at $160 a piece, plus $5 shipping…
Preordered. I’m relying on you guys for a teardown so I can cancel my preorder if the stick sucks.

I see top screws/cap sockets on the sucker, NOT carriage bolts, thank goodness!
Should be possible to remove the faceplate and take a look inside.
The fact that I’m seeing what are most likely cap socket screws on the top of the faceplate – get your metric hex keys/Allen keys out, folks – is a good sign for moddability.
I still have my doubts about the parts, though.
Unless they produced the joystick with a fine razor, I still doubt those are Sanwa parts. Most likely clones. Only someone actually taking the stick apart is going to resolve that question!

Yeah… Preorder cancelled. Having to mod the stick with $40-50 in parts (which you may not be able to sell) no longer makes it a good deal in my opinion. Im not a big fan of that button layout either. Its a nice looking stick though.
