Injustice: Gods Among Us Battle Edition Arcade Stick

wait, how you guys get the stick before the release date?

It looks to me like that is a modified Sega Player 1 layout.
Also please tell em the art isn’t printed on the plexy, I love to swap out the art for something that is not a eye sore. I do not care for the NEW 52 garbage.

Uhh even the 25th SF Anniversary stick had wack ass parts, and that was an official capcom product. 90% chance of this stick having imitation parts sourced from the finest bootleggers in the Guangzhou province.

Unless you know something we don’t, there’s no indication, yet, that these parts will need to be swapped for better parts. The buttons look like clear sanwas or semitsus to me. Hopefully the stick ends up being a semitsu ls-58. In fact, until I hear otherwise, I’m going to just assume that we’re getting a full semitsu stick.

Considering what PDP was able to deliver with their last stick, the semitsu parts should be more than affordable considering the lack of wooden components and the hard plexi-top. And if they are able to integrate the LED components into their custom PCB, the lighting shouldn’t be that expensive either.

That’s not saying much. When the SF25 stick was released, having actual arcade parts in consumer-grade (non-commercial) joysticks was practically, if not completely, unheard of. I’m not understanding all the doom and gloom. Looking at the images of the stick, I’m finally starting to feel legitimately hopeful about the finished product.

Time will tell, I guess. Fingers crossed. Twice. Plus toes.

^This.

It’s not that I’m sure, it’s that I’m not willing to take the chance.

Why not just wait till the game comes out and people review the stick to cancel your Preorder? That’s what I’m doing.

Honestly, I never noticed the button layout until now which isn’t my preference, so it turned me off a little bit. Also looks like those screws aren’t flush which always bothers me on sticks.

Still, it LOOKS great though. Hopefully it’s the real deal.

If there’s one thing I can say about PDP, it’s that they really know how to keep things simple! No turbo feature, nothing. As much as I like sticks being chock full of extra features, having a stick that does just what you need it to do is awesome. I think the stick looks pretty neat myself, but I definitely want to see more of it. My only real question right now is where’s the cable? Does it have a cable storage compartment?

Also, I’m gonna nitpick. You’re all thinking of the Street Fighter 15th Anniversary stick. The 25th Anniversary never had an official controller. It only had Infiltration winning 25 grand and a sweet car.

D’OH. . .

So the chances of this being Happ/iL components are slim to none? Oh well…was hoping this was a way to get american sticks and buttons into a more compact stick seeing as I can’t find a mini mas anywhere. Oh well, Cheers!

wow this stick is looking more like an Omni stick, but that cant be if PDP is making it. I thought someone on here said PDP was not really making the stick, they where only marketing it. Now I can find that post. Oh well only 6 days left.

PDP is manufacturing the Injustice stick. BUT PDP is manufacturing the stick as a OEM item for Warner Brothers (WB) who owns Neither Realm Studios (formerly Midway). WB also owns DC Comics.
Meaning PDP is making the stick, but all the licensing rights, designs, marketing and distribution belongs to WB. PDP can’t even mention the sticks specs online without violating their agreement with WB.

Since WB is still new to the Fighting Game scene I do not expect the arcade stick to fall in the usual industry standards or hearing a word of having any idea on the specs.
Well know more Next week.

I’m fairly new to fighters, and I’ve never used an arcade stick before. Even if it doesn’t have the best parts, do you think it would be a good stick to start with? Seems like a good price, coming with the bundle and all.

If it doesn’t have the best parts, I’d honestly just use it as a collector’s item rather than use it as a tournament stick. Basically the stick will cost you $90 ($150 - $60 MSRP of the game) and then you’ll probably have to swap out the parts which can be quite pricey. Why pay $90 for a frustrating experience and then have to buy better parts later when you can buy a better stick for a better price? The Trade Outlet is good for that. As an example, I have a TE for sale for $85 shipped. Sanwa parts, no tax, and we already know the stick itself is quality. You can find several other deals just like that in the Trade Outlet sub-forum.

Fixed… Cause in tech talk… We rarely leave something untouched.

TBH, I am kinda hopin I have to swap/mod/dremel it… Stock is well, boring! That may not be the right fit for everyone tho so YMMV. As a starter stick? Well unless the parts are so bad (like worse than the first run of SE sticks) well maybe not then.

Can’t say until after April 16.

Voiding Warranties IS a moto, a pass-time, time-honored tradition and a right of passage into manhood (or womanhood for you females) . I want to dive into this stick elbows deep and see how it is built and how it ticks.

You haven’t been here very long if you said that. I know plenty of people who modded sub-par joysticks just because of the challenge.
I modded a broken $15 Dreamcast stick into a perfectly fine Game Cube stick.

90% of all the joysticks I own I ended out throwing out at least half the parts with replacement parts for mods.
I am getting this stick expecting to replace everything except for the case it self. If the Joystick and buttons are not authentic arcade parts (regardless of brand) they are getting trashed. Knowing PDP’s history and track record I more than likely trashing the PCB as well. Also I think the stock art is rubbish, Maybe I talk to D3v and see what kind of Retro Godliness I can bring to this PDP stick.

My Question is should I mod this stick with Sanwa or Seimtsu parts. Maybe I can go for a Korean Joystick this time around?

No dissing Sega/Noir like layouts on my watch.

Errr I meant using a stick with buttons that go out and a stick that doesn’t register all the directions is a frustrating experience. Obviously the modders will still be interested in the stick, but let’s not overwhelm someone who’s both new to fighters AND arcade sticks. Barrier of entry for fighting games is high enough. I would never recommend someone pay more and force them to learn how to mod over just picking up a cheap TE. It just isn’t necessary.

It’s not much, but this video popped up in a cheapassgamer thread via youtube. It’s about the best look we’ve got so far.

Link (I couldn’t figure how to embed the sucker… shameful, I know)

Stick sounds pretty good. Buttons definitely sound dull. Currently, youtube user says he doesn’t know about the parts because the stick doesn’t come with instructions. I guess if you want something done right…

In any case, I’m glad someone took the time to show off the stick a bit.

Those buttons don’t sound like PS-14’s to me.
