Well we’re looking at 3 weeks left now and nothing… even after PAX nothing LOL. Oh well I’m still keeping my preorder and if the stick is not Happ/IL, maybe I can get the cast of Big Bang Theory all sign it and wait for Comic con and sell it there. I should be able to triple my money…BAZINGA.
I like the look of the stick for the most part, but am too skeptical of the parts used. Does anyone actually care about getting the game with the stick?
Yes, I do. I was planning on getting the game regardless so basically I’m paying ~$90 for the stick. MKvDCU was decent & loved MK9 so looking forward to playing Injustice. The PR mentioned it being lightweight which leads me to think the case’s made of plastic, not wood unlike their MK sticks.
Exactly. Also, being that it’s a MK move type of game, most people won’t want an Arcade stick. I’m not fond of the lightweight sticks. They move around too much on your lap. However, I haven’t tried the foam underside ones…
According to NRS, all of the CEs are already sold out and most of the BEs are as well. It’s a pretty good chance all of the BEs will be pre-sold before release and Hector himself said they weren’t sure when there would be more (possibly not being any more but that’s me guessing. Noone actually said that.).
I prefer playing on a tabletop so not too concerned with the weight unless it’s dramatically lower than 4 - 5 pounds (something similar to a Hori T6 or Exar TvC stick is way too light for me). You can always put rolls of coins internally. BTW, the memory foam underside of those 2 PDP MK sticks are rather comfy for lap players.
Threw down a preorder, even if it’s knock offs as long as there’s room to throw a Happ/IL stick in there I’ll be happy. Even if not, I figure I could at least sell it to a DC fan to make my money back.
Actually, whenever I go to GameStop I look at the local joystick inventory…
I can tell you the remaining in-store MK joysticks appear to be less popular than leper colonies…
We’ll see what happens with the Injustice joystick.
I don’t personally think it’s going to have official Sanwa brand parts or an announcement would have been made already.
At best, people can expect Mad Catz-clone (Tatsunoko Vs Capcom, Brawl joysticks) level quality parts… At worst, well most of us already have experience with Hori Fight Stick and HRAP license joystick parts.
That didn’t stop Hori Fight Stick and HRAP license joystick owners from modding and upgrading their joysticks.
It does seem like many of the newer SRK members are extremely reluctant to do any kind of involved modding let alone desoldering buttons… Complaints will pile up fast amongst this crowd if the Injustice joystick turns out to be what I think it will be.
I’m new to the competitive scene, but definitely interested in modding. Have to buy equipment and a “Test subject stick.” How many of these IN-Store MK sticks are there and which ones?
Haven’t pre-ordered BE yet, but I do have a regular order at GS, so hopefully I can alter it. I just have many sticks already and am still skeptical of this thing…
I Just learned PDP isn’t really selling the stick, PDP is producing the stick OEM, and its Warner Brothers and NetherRealm Studios (formerly Midway) has all the rights to the stick and it is WB who is selling the stick.
This stick so far is not announced to be sold separately, only bundled with collectors editions of the game.
PDP isn’t allowed to release any specs, or what buttons or joystick is used. The decision to include a the Bat top is more than likely exclusively that of NetherRealm Studios or WB.
Sad thing is you do not know until the release. And since this is the product of a US company I highly doubt anyone is getting it earlier than the release date (unless one gets one that “fallen off the truck”).
I really don’t know how many are left… It just seems like the local stores I frequent have at least 1 MK joystick on the floor. They might have more in back – I don’t know.
They’re priced $99.99 now…
To check on stock at local outlets, just go to GameStop’s website and look up the MK joystick for XBox 360 or PS3. (The GameStops are more likely to have the PS3 version in-stock.) You can input your area code from the product listing and find out that way which stores actually have the hardware in-stock. That’s the easiest way to find out without wasting gas money, time, or placing a phone call and having it answered by a disinterested or clueless employee.
