<div class=“QuoteText”>Still no update on the components? </div>
</blockquote>
I still haven’t heard anything. I’ve checked TYM also yet nothing. It’s kind of annoying not knowing what the components are especially if it cost $150 for the bundle. I’ll update if I hear anything concrete.<br>
<font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>I’m going to go ahead and chime in here and also hope that this stick somehow uses happ parts (clearance for the parts sadly seems unlikely). As someone who grew up in American arcades, I’m much more accustomed to the happ parts and prefer them to the Japanese parts. Unfortunately, as many have already stated, sticks with stock American style parts (Chinese Happ) are very hard to come by. I’ve got, so far, a madcatz TE and a modded Hori wireless with Sanwa parts and the two MK sticks (TE and Klassic) with Happs. Sadly, the two happ sticks are in that awful MK layout and pretty much useless for anything except MK. </span></font><div style=“font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal;”><br></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>The only Happ style stick I own that is Street Fighter friendly is an old SF Anniversary Nuby stick that I modded with iL parts. I’d like to have a second American style stick to pair with it without having to do another mod. </span></font></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”><br></span></font></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>Like many others, though, I’m worried about what this stick will actually end up being like. I’m hoping that the low price point almost guarantees Happ parts because I don’t see how PDP could give us a stick with LEDs AND Sanwas at such a low price point. Then again, I also don’t see how such a small stick could have room for the Happs, which might mean that PDP might be making their own buttons and joystick (or a mix of authentic parts mixed with PDP parts ala some older Hori sticks) to keep costs down. </span></font></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”><br></span></font></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>I guess I’m just going to have to wait like everyone else. Hopefully I will not be disappointed and have to cancel my preorder. The lack of news is a bad sign. The only thing keeping me hopeful is how amazing the build quality of the MK TE was at the exact same price point. I know a lot of people don’t like the MK TE because of the parts used, but the design and the construction of the case is still the best I have seen out of a stock stick. </span></font></div>

I completely agree the lack of news is a bad sign. Not too fond of the idea of them mixing generic stuff with Happ or Sanwa/Seimitsu. I concur, the fit, finish & quality of the two MK sticks were superb! Hopefully, they’ll update the specs prior to release. If not then I’ll still buy it then wait for someone else to open up it to confirm everything (parts used, what else fits in there & fit/finish). If no bueno then I’ll return it unopened to Gamestop.<br>
Wow… Looks like everyone is on the same page worried about the stick. I know I can be wrong, but I really think PDP is on the fence on what parts they want to put in the stick. I do think they are trying to get a feel from the community on what they want. Im like Radewagon on this. I have a Nuby stick that I mod with a PS360+ and IL parts, but I would love it if this stick is IL/Happ too. If not I’ll sell my preorder one and just get the translucent IL buttons with LCD lights and a sparky and call it a day.<div><br></div><div><br></div>
The stick is more practical than the Statue, yet it presents a tough call in choosing to pre-order stick vs statue editions if the parts aren’t good quality.
Really?!? It’s less than 1.5-months before launch yet WB won’t release this info?! They released info on the MK TE stick months before launch yet this time they won’t? That blows!!..
It could be that they want to save some money on advertising, so they’ll hold back the press release about the stick’s parts so that they can release that info closer to the game’s release and let fighting game communities obsess over the stick and give them, essentially, free advertising while we keep the game in the spotlight. Releasing that info too early could mean that they wouldn’t get that much needed hype at the time they’d need it most.
Pretty much this. The MK TE stick wasn’t well received even in the MK kommunity. Many of the players that did use it modded it right out of the box.
My guess is, if they aren’t releasing the info it’s because they know it’s something we don’t want to hear. NRS loves and knows how to bring the hype. If they thought they had something we’d go gaga over, they wouldn’t sit on it; especially this close to release.
It’s disheartening to still have no information about this stick’s components…
Talked with GameStop employees today and got nowhere…
Tried to message WB customer service, but something is wrong with their email feedback system.
I contacted NetherRealm, awaiting their reply.
I also asked the PDP rep that D3V spoke of earlier. Hopefully we may obtain some concrete information.
Also, something came to mind, that perhaps has already been discussed; Is the sick wired or wireless? What are the dimensions of the stick?
I’m keeping mine on pre-order just in case the stick has great parts and is very limited. Thankfully, I can always cancel my pre-order if it turns out the stick is garbage.
It occurs to me that money went into parts to light the buttons, etc. and to make up for that cost (unless negligible) the parts might be low quality.
Did PDP/WB release parts specs for the MK Tournament stick prior to release?
NO word from NRS, WB, etc.
GameStop is supposedly sold out of their collector’s editions, but they “claim” that the Battle Edition will be available for Pre-Order a bit longer. It would be worth a 25$ deposit. DOA5 Collector’s was also a GameStop exclusive. I managed to get my hands on 2. Sold one for twice what I paid for one of them, so my CE copy turned out to be $6.
DC Comics has a MUCH bigger fanbase than DOA, so it might be worth $50 initially, $300 if you can manage. I am still contemplating this scenario.
That looks like a Happ bat top and not a JLF one to me, I have quite a few Happ/IL sticks laying around. No wigsplitter, you’re not the only one hoping that it’s Happ/IL, if it was confirmed I’d preorder today, LOL.
Yup, they released component specs (manufacturer) months in advance of release with both MK TE & Klassic sticks. Not doing so with this stick makes me think the components are knockoff’s otherwise, they’d announce it by now.
I threw a preorder down, but if these turn out to be $hit parts, I’m cancelling asap. If by any chance they are sanwa/seimitsu, it’s a great stick to customize being that it already has an LED setup. Part of me likes the case design too, but that will come down to material/finish.
