Right, but since the elbow is becoming better, that is what we’re going to be using the flip for now instead of praying to whatever god you worship that the other guy doesn’t crouch. And hey, if we do get the grab to connect, that’s a free knockdown as always. I can tell that they’re making Guy more solid of a character already. You don’t even know how optimistic I am about this.

I played one character : GUY. Sorry fellows, the queue was far too long, so instead of just waiting like a pussy brawler, i’ve just watched the people playing.
Like I said earlier : Guy has his target combo ( the MP HP ) fixed. It doesn’t whiff on croucher anymore. I played against a cammy player and he didn’t whiff once on her crouching.
Hp Hozanto is faster than before. I saw a Guy player catch Chun’s mp Kikoken with it from decent distance.
I was wrong about elbow having more hitstun, it’s still the same.
Lp hozanto is safe from spd and light hawk spd.
U2 : less recovery on whiff and the distance has been fixed. ( Almost like rose’s normal grab ) Ultra of choice without any hesitation.
Flip grab has been toned DOWN. The lp flip grab is the same, but the window-grab on mp hp flip grab make them more useless than before.
Damage is 120.
No faster walk speed, no invicility on Ex hozanto, no faster recovery ect Beside of the thing stated above he looks exactly the same, but he’s definitvely a better fighter.

Now all I can ask is they fix his overhead like you guys were saying and his walk speed. There’s no reason for his walk to be that slow. He’s a freakin ninja! In the Alpha games, Guy had the most badass walk because it was fast and intimidating as hell. Would really like for them to speed it up.
Target combo buffs and U2 being “Ultra of choice without any hesitation” makes Guy run stop pressure amazing now.
Bushin flip nerfs mean less random damage and less damaging corner reset.To be honest though I think by now us guy players have realised that bushin flip really shouldnt be used that much.I think 1 or 2 landed bushin flips in one round is already too much.It looks like everyone whos been working on their pressure,bushin chain corner resets and ambiguous crossups will be rewarded with new this version of Guy.

Damn… I think the nerfing of his Bushin Flip was unessecary. It’s easy to avoid and counter… why take away almost half the damage? Although I am grateful for the chain combo fix, they didn’t need to TAKE anything away from him, for fucksake. That Elbow hit stun tease was too cruel

I never understood why that move wasn’t used very often. It has a weird command for an air grab, but it’s priority is amazing, and now it’s going to be the more damaging of the two grabs.
Argh. Give me walk speed or give me death, Capcom. You buffed Cody’s walk, why not Guy’s?
It actually made me question how reliable of a source this guy is. The hitstun off of the elbow is atrocious, how could he make THAT kind of a mistake??
Hit box on Medium Punch, Hard Punch chain combo was fixed, it no longer will miss against some players who crouch.
? Hard Punch Dashing Elbow is faster and can be used to hit characters out of their fireballs a little easier. Light Punch Dashing Elbow is now safe on block against Zangief and T. Hawk’s 360 command grabs.
? Ultra 2 has been improved. Less recovery time and the distance on it was fixed, so it’s very comparable to Rose’s normal throw range. According to one player, this is the Ultra of choice now, period.
? Flip Grab damage reduced. 120 instead of 200. Also, the window where you can grab the other player with the Medium and Hard versions has been shortened.
? His slide is faster.
? Guy seems a lot better overall.
Well… We got some good things… but Flip grab doing 120 is an upset and the window is even worse to hear about. :\ I hope it gets bumped to at least 180 like His Air Throw and the windows as they were.
ALSO wtf… Cody gets a faster walk speed D< where is the Guy buff there!
The main argument would be that, since Guy’s literally just walking, he shouldn’t be that fast.
That throws it out the window with Cody’s walk speed improving, though. He doesn’t walk. He saunters. If Guy doesn’t get his walk speed, I’ll get by without it. If Cody ends up faster than Guy, though, I’m going to kill someone.
The priority isn’t great on any but the EX Versions – it still gets beat alot. I use the Instant Inzuna when I can, but other than that I’d rather save my meter most of the time.
why are you all complaining about his walk speed? Cody was way slower than Guy to start and one of the slowest characters in the game. Gun has a command run and his dashes are good, his walk speed is fine. It’s not like he has awesome normals to play footsies with right now. So why does he need to walk any faster?
Someone test out his normals and see if they’ve all been improved. If the hitbox for close.HP has been improved try it out as AA or after run stop options. I’m guessing HP Hozontou has the speed of MP but the distance of HP Hozontou which is awesome. Mid screen someone could throw a fireball you tag them with Hozontou FADC into Ultra 1 for big damage. This is great news.
