I love when JWong taunted Neo at SB…twice
LMAO
You definitely have a point their. I’ve never played against someone who was real good at the bullet hell strategy, but i have played against it. It was a bit hard to get around, and if i didn’t use spencer as much as i do, i probably wouldn’t have gotten around it.
My statement was simply pointing out the “mindset” of your general online asshole player. Even to a legit loss, the Ego wins over the obvious.
Got, I misread your post. Withdrawn haha
I never understood why people hate when you taunt.
You lost, and/or are giving me a free action because you’re not applying pressure, so, I’ll do what I want.
I guess this is directed more to Naoki because I just read his sig.
Even in Skull Girls, where there are no taunts, I use “Lookin’ Good” or “Excellent” as a taunt, it’s just me being cute, nothing personal.
I used to play a lot of SC2, and what I see in Marvel is nothing compared to SC2. Go play some SC2 and you’ll see some real shit when you win by “cheesing,” especially in master’s league where everyone thinks they are WAY better than they really are.
I don’t teabag or taunt unless i’ve had the person in my friends list for a little while. I especially love teabagging my friends if i win after losing about 10 times in a row lol. Each way, taunting against a random person you beat online, and especially teabagging, is generally an insult. It’s like saying “you can’t handle this” or “I’m the best”, which is arrogant.
What i do when playing someone for the first time, if i win, I just throw out another hyper. Even still, it can be a bit insulting, but i’m not gonna sit still, gotta keep my fingers warmed up. Also, watching Hulk bring a meteor down on his already dead opponent is funny to me. Hulk is way too angry at life.
How anyone gets salty at a taunt but not at getting fake crossundered teleport fuzzied for the 12th time…
Dude…it’s been only 6 months, don’t jump on it like it’s some mindless thing that noone will ever figure out and the game will evolve in MorriDoom mirrors where the winner is the one who activates it first and gets a second meter fast enough, games take time to get figured out and noone has maxed out their characters because we simply don’t know what can be done in a 7 month old game. There’s already people making a progress on how to beat this strategy with such things as Dorm’s pillar + power of the power of the or repulsor blast cleaning the screen, it will be figured out (maybe some people already did and are holding it out for EVO, we simplyu don’t know).
Man, all people that complain about MorriDoom being mindless, unfair or bullshit need to play MvC2 against a dedicated Strider player with Blackheart and Sentinel on the back just to see how it really feels to be trapped in row after row of chip, endless damage with no way out.
I never said its mindless. Nor did I say no one will figure it out. I said **if. **Meaning some characters may not have a way out of it at all. I mean looking at it, there really is no way out of it if you’re stuck in it with a character that has no invincible supers, no flights, and no projectiles. Its why I mentioned Iron Fist. I play him so I can tell you that its pretty much near impossible to get out of a solid morrigan/doom bullet hell. She can just keep going without you being able to do anything. Closest thing IF has to countering it is his dragon flame super and even that isn’t invincible on startup.
Tough break, when fighting games evolve most of the times characters are left out because they simply can’t compete (like Iron Fist in this case), that happens all the time, so yeah, it’s your choice whether or not you want to have a chance against MorriDoom using another team or keep using your same team and try to find something that gives you a chance at beating MorriDoom (either switching someone out, changing an assist or something, that’s on you), but that’s not the game’s fault, that’s just simply how games evolve, and this kind of scenarios always happen in the Marvel series.
Basic way to get something going IMO is to a run a Point character, Storm second, Sentinel or Strider anchor team.
Where have you been all my life? Seriously THIS! ^^^^^ and your last (initial) post are the best. Nobody understands how to condition themselves to deal with the chaos. To be honest with you I can’t even call this game chaotic anymore. I’ve seen all the typical zero/vergil/wesker whatever setups and I know a way out of 95% of them. It really comes down to conditioning yourself to understand the situation, your options (down to a science with your characters) ect. If I get hit by anything in this game it is my fault and I know exactly why I got hit. I rarely get hit by something where I am like “okay what the hell just happened?” because I’ve seen enough of this game to understand match-ups of characters versus my team.
Whatever happened to learning match-ups, spacing and the other things in this game like we did in SF series? People don’t take into account these things it seems at all because they just don’t care to understand the game. In my opinion (correct me if I’m wrong) the majority of the UMvC3 community feel like this game is all about spamming setups and hoping your setups beat the other guy’s setups. I believe this is a big reason why people think this game is random. I rarely see people convert off of an unsafe setup or place themself in a situation that once opponent does said setup that they can take advantage of them.
I’m sorry DJ you’ve said everything I’m pretty much stating. Feel, don’t think. There are situations I’ve been in where I’ve used counter-pokes for neutral game where people wouldn’t even think about pressing that specific button for any neutral situation. Never practiced a punish like that but you just know when you’ve dealt with things enough that you just have that feeling it will work and in most cases it will.
If you don’t know your characters, match-ups and everything about them. You will get hit by the same obvious BS we’ve seen since the game came out and that is why people are salty.
It’s not about knowing the way out of every situation(most top players do, even non-top players), it’s about being able to recognize the situation during the match…and to make that one pretty impossible judgement call of whether the opponent will be one frame too late or too early to cross you up.
Most top players do not ways out of every situation. I agree that you must be able to recognize the situations and respond accordingly, but even top players do not do that. I’ve seen plenty of match footage between top 8’s where there have been punishes to setups and there is no recognization of it. And there is rarely a scenario unless its when a character is coming in or gets snapped back that you have to guess 50/50’s because you cannot rely on reactions to block accordingly. High/lows in lockdown can be an issue too but conditioned with the right blocking techniques vs specific matchups. In most neutral game though you don’t have to worry about those impossible reaction blocks unless you place yourself in those situations. Every mix-up can be avoided sans snap-back or when a character comes in.
