Infinite floodgates opening

After all is said and done, the only real shitty thing about MvC2 were the guard breaks. Really though if you take infinties out of MvC2, Sentinel, Storm and Cable still run half the cast. You take infinites out of MvC3 and Zero, Mags, Vergil will still continue wrecking people’s shit. Having one nice combo doesn’t instantly make the character better.

You guys act like at the beginning of the game your opponent just gets a free courtesy combo. Same with the DHC glitch. You have yipes doing stupid shit with Dante/Vergil where he uses 2 bars to kill 95% of the cast; and ya’ll still mad at the DHC glitch? Worst part about it is that Zero now kills dude using only one meter and an assist. Process this shit: he is using 2 characters and one bar to kill a character and ya’ll dudes still bring up the DHC glitch like it was the thing turning MvC3 shitty.

Yes we know, lightning loop is stupid as fuck.

DHC glitch is significant to the discussion *because it was patched. *

Out of all the things that make Zero unbearable to play against, lighting loop is not one of them. Out of the list of things I’d remove from the fucker that shit is so far down the list it ain’t even funny. Its whatever with you dudes right now: you guys have a mixture of circle jerk and kumbaya that won’t let you process information.

MvC2 infinties were already taken out. The spin out was in place and worked (for the most part).

Well that’s the thing…MVC3 has already been like that since Vanilla yet it still has about 1300 people entering it this year. You’re talking about the fear of TOD’s and this game is basically TOD the game. If people didn’t like TOD’s they would have stopped playing months into Vanilla.

What actually hurt Vanilla MVC3 the most was the character that allowed your team to escape the threat of losing to the TOD’s. Funny enough.

Really Phoenix is probably the most broken thing to enter fighting games in a while because she allows you to escape what normally kills you in a fighting game. Yet…we’re still playing.

I’m going to keep count of how many ToDs happen on stream tomorrow during the semis of UMvC3 because this ToD thing is an exaggeration.

Well it is Marvel…everything is exaggerated really but the game being a TOD heavy game is far less exaggerated than what the TAC infinites are or could eventually do ATM.

I mean everytime an XF3 character wipes a team that’s basically the quickest way you’ll see the TOD heavy part of the game in action. Zero being Zero is probably the second easiest way. XF in general is basically “press 4 buttons then do a sequence to TOD”.

It’s a good and bad thing about the game. The game is so eccentric and free form that it takes so long for people to realize what really they should freak out about for a tournament situation.

Except that ToD requires XF/Zero and no more ToD when you lose either of them.

TAC requires being right in a 3 way guess off any stray hit into S and TAC’s are unlimited

That goes back into my original statement. Dying in one combo when you have multiple characters really isn’t that bad.

Still there are plenty of characters other than Zero that can basically TOD anyone with a million health or less without too much effort. Most of the characters on the better part of the tier list have less health than that really. It’s not that hard to manage your meter so that you get a kill everytime you hit minus landing a throw. Which even then having Vergil as a DHC usually takes care of that issue.

TAC’s require utilizing something that the opponent can stop which is generally weaker for tournaments than XF or Zero.

Looking at in a vacuum.

You’re looking at TAC’s in what I would say is pretty much a vacuum also. If you want to expand that vacuum the odds can be less than 1/3. Even then…still not awesome for starting off a hit in a tournament. Zero is not a character you want to perform a TAC infinite on when made contact with.

This is called ‘trying to have it both ways’, you can’t pull the how can you complain about X, Y is worse!!! and then say Y isn’t that bad you guys complain about anything!!!

I get that your mind is made up (pringlespringles), but at least try to hold it together.

You might want to if you think XF would help you vs Vergil (Team ZMC) and all you got on Zero was a throw and you’re not able to kill from a throw even if you DHC.

Landing a clean throw on Zero is hard enough to do as it is the way he can protect himself from the typical OS throw fishing and his own moves that OS techs. Which even then someone like Marlin Pie would much faster burn the XF1 to get him out on a throw.

If people REALLY wanna kill off throws without escapable situations being present they’ll start putting Vergil second more.

But the problem here is those TOD combos with Zero/Vergil require execution. Not everybody is pulling them off. I’d rather get lighting Looped to death instead of being hit with an infinite. These combos can’t be compared to the DHC glitch, as that mechanic in MVC3 was very stupid. (Note, that wasn’t the only stupid thing in MVC3.)

I’m not having it any way. Its a game full of ToD’s. I am not getting mad at the ToD’s. I am, on the other hand, mad at all the random normals and all sorts of questionable balance decisions that were made which made some characters walking mixups. Whatever combo they can do is besides the point because they are still beating me at everything else.

Yeah this is still the shittiest part about the game pretty free and will pretty much stay that way regardless of what other people find. It’s what touches you that is the stupidest, not what kills you. Which even then players are still finding their own ways around those issues because playing the game competitively pretty much forces you to.

hehehe

link? or can someone explain this plz??

Sure: https://twitter.com/#!/MarlinPie

Just sort through the tweets. most of the recent ones are about the glitch.

TL;DR of it is Chou did some nonsense that let his incoming character enter with invincibility against Marlin Pie. Marlin Pie figured it out and apparently it grants the incoming character up to 3 seconds of invincibility. So if you do it, incoming character doesn’t have to worry about incoming mixups.

my jaw literally dropped when they said no patch. BasedGod is real, Thank You BasedGod
