Yo I’ve been meaning to post here but now is the perfect time since Mario posted and got the thread back up towards the top.
April 21st is no good. I’ve tried sending private messages to Indy folks on here and on Xbox Live. I don’t know if my advice is falling on deaf ears but let it now be known…without support from surrounding cities like Bloomington and Fort Wayne your tournaments will not be all that great and that is exactly what will happen if you keep this current date.
Ohio is having a huge tournament April 21st and so Bloomington and Fort Wayne are both going to that. Moving the date would be a smart thing because I just don’t think having the regular local turnout is exactly what you had in mind with these tournaments.
Before you guys set tourney dates you should at least gloss over the tournament forum to set what’s playing in the region. We posted it 3-23, which I know was late, but you’re apparently organizing tourneys and as of yesterday you hadn’t seen it?
So yea, Knyght, do you guys play during the week at all or is it mostly a weekend thing. I’ve had a lot of free time lately, which won’t last for much longer, so if you guys play during the week, I could maybe stop by just for shits and giggles.
We usually play on Tuesday afternoons around 5 p.m. or on Saturday around 6:00 p.m.
Like TRAMPY said we all get together and play Marvel over a friends house Saturday nights from time to time. If we play there we usually meet there around 12 a.m. and play till 6 or 7.
If we do that we will have to contact him before we set anything up. Let us know when you plan to come through so we can all be there. Peace.
Just to help out here, there is the May’n Event in Michigan on May 12 (not sure if anyone in Indiana will be there or not).
Abe is planning for a party sometime soon, very possibly in May so perhaps you should try to beat him to the punch and pick a date. Or honestly we would all have a great time if you guys would come up when he announces one and you boys will finally realize what you’ve been missing out on for so long.
A friend of mine is planning a tournament in Muncie, IN. June 9th is a strong possibility for a date. Then of course MWC/Evo North is June 22-24 so don’t bother trying to host anything on those dates.
So now you see what you already have to plan around. Better start announcing something dudes! That or start planning to attend some things and see what all is out there besides just Gameworks. You boys should have been at the Columbus, OH tournament!!!
I would love to go to the May 12 event but way to far. Depends on if I can carpool with someone up there. I’m working on talking my buddy into throwing a tourney here in Broadripple. He’s got turbo, fist of the north star, 3rd strike, breakers revenge, martical masters and king of fighters 98 all on arcade. I think he needs some motivation. If you guys think you might be able to make the trip let me know, and I might be able to get a date set for it.
KynghtFall: You guys should try to come up to the tourney in Muncie. It’s going to be cheap and you get to play a variety of games as well. Try to come if you can!
Humbag - well there was one Indianapolis tournament as planned a few months back and then they never had one since (were planning another but they didn’t do their research and it was the same day as the Columbus tournament so we told them to cancel cuz no one from Indiana would come).
I have honestly given up on trying to get Indianapolis involved in anything. I have tried a for a long time now (I know it’s been over a year, two years at most) and they just don’t get involved in anything.
Derek - we are having a little tournament at a friend’s house in Muncie, IN. That will take place Saturday, June 9. I will try to get you more details. Also I am sending you a private message about stuff.
For the past 3 months we have been in the process of overhauling our game card system (I’m a technician)
All of our time and energy is being poured into this. To make matters worse, the “higher ups” are putting a bunch of pressure on our GM to “get er dun” a.s.a.p.
Combine that with reduced hours and back to back events booking all our space and
you can understand where I’m coming from. We want this to happen, buts its going to be difficult.
The sad part is the cats that ran the thing last time are having a Smash tourney soon. I don’t know how they managed to squeeze it in.
I just hope they have their stuff together this time, or it will fail.
The Muncie tourney sounds interesting, so send me the info please.
No pressure man. I know how higher ups can be. Do what you have to do. I’ll try to make it down for you next marvel tourney whenever it happens (you can’t have it coincide with Smash?).
Speaking of which, anybody in the Indy area, I’ll be going through Indy to get to Abe’s. Anybody that wants to come can get a ride with me. Just let me know, so I can let Abe know, and so I know what my plans are.
