yeah i’m looking at hsien-ko maybe? she looks hilarious. plus she’s a zombie vampire, which is a hilarious mixture.
i’ll play AH3 with you but i can’t afford picking it up right now since i would also need to get a ps3 stick to enjoy it. i heard at the end of AH2 petra was ballsy, did they make her any better?
edit: excuse the overuse of the word hilarious… my eyes are tired and it’s the only word coming to mind. i just re-read my posts and realized i sound retarded.
Petra is supposed to be just under top tier in AH3. I don’t know what specific changes she got but she seems to benefit a lot from the new meter system, where homing cancels and supers are both managed via the old homing stocks, which still regenerate quickly. That allows her to essentially spam the super that reloads her bullets which in turn allows her to spam the bullets that bounce all around the screen and are really good for zoning and keeping the opponent where you want them.
AH3 tiers are really small though, the weakest characters are like B tier and people have a hard time even making a tier list because everyone can do big damage and even if your character has some notable weaknesses you can just pick an arcana that buffs you in those areas. The only characters I’ve seen that might have issues are Fiona because she has always sucked and is really slow, and maybe Kira because she’s a grappler in a game where people are flying around all the time, although she’s more of a heavy character that happens to also have command throws (like Potemkin) and not really a dedicated grappler like Tager or Zangief. Catherine has some issues sometimes with her hitbox being so gigantic, but she’s still a pretty ridiculous character and most people seem to put her at A/A+ tier anyway.
It’s pretty funny when players counterpick Catherine with the Tyr arcana and spam the cage match super though, but it seems to have been weakened in the latest revision.
wow, that cage super is ridiculous. i also just looked up some zenia stuff because she’s another AH2 character i wanted to play. we’ll have to plan something soon so i can play.
Yeah I think they made it so the cage is a lot bigger now and it’s not a free win against Catherine. Somehow it never really affected Kira though, even though she is big as well her hitbox apparently isn’t.
I don’t know much about Zenia but AH is one of those games where I like to play pretty much everyone at least a little bit so I’m sure we’ll figure it out. I’ll have to post pictures of my collector’s edition once it gets here so everyone will know how cool I am
so check this out, Mike the event manager at Tilt was talking to me the other day about starting a Friday Fight Club for all the fighter fiends… I know that a fight club to us is something way different then what he’s suggesting but here’s the basic info
Tilt Friday Fight Club
all you have to do to become a member is print out something that proves you’re a fighter fiend. I.e. a SRK profile page, or a Dustloop post, or even this post. Print it out and show it to the clerk at Tilt. That will get you one of the new Fight Club cards.
being a member of the fight club gets you:
-double points towards anything you put on the gamecard
-half price on any of the fighting games
-double the VIP points (im not sure how this works but)
that’s the deal so far… Mike says he’s completely prepared to put the fight club into effect right away including yesterday (im kinda late i apologize) and i’ll be at Tilt this coming friday to exercise this new weekly thingamabob
in the advancing note i’m going to talk to Mike about letting us use the theatre room to hold setups and stuff during friday fight clubs too. I know we would all prefer soemthing like the fight nights we’re accustomed to so we can all get our practice in, the only speedbump in that senario is that Tilt makes no money. So the survey is to see if all the scene players would be willing to pay a small fee to pull a full on fight club. Until then atleast we basically have another $10 tuesday type deal to enjoy and congregate around
are they open later on Friday? The main issue I can see is that for anyone who has to work or whatever and might not get there until 5 or 6, that’s not too much time to play if they still close at 9:00.
On the 25th the Purdue Fighting Game Club is hosting a Rambat for SSF4 with a 5 dollar buy in at Krannert at Purdue University. The Rambat will start at 7pm and will be double elim with a 70-20-10 prize pull. If anyone is interested please message me so i can put your name down.
I don’t know if you guys have noticed, but HDR / HDR Teams / HDR Classic is getting mad hype for NTC. There’s going to be some ridiculous comp there for some SF2 throwdown… to say the least, I’m very excited about it.
