I’ll add you on XBL as well. I desperately need the practice against Akuma.
GGs dude i was the honda you played. how often do you play on xbl?
The scene looks like its growing again…now if only we could get more people playing 3s lol.
-DOES THE AKUMA STANCE/STOMP AND STARES HIM DOWN!-
GOOD GAMES MY ASS!! YOUR RYU WAS BETTER THAN MY GOUKI!!! I MUST CRUSH YOU!..(Please try to get used to that, when it comes to rivals I always put on my game face. Makes me that much more focused to make a comeback in the rematch. Yeah 4sho though, good games.)
And I’m online randomly but I can pretty much promise I’m online at least once every single day. Usually early in the morning before work around 4am-7am. Then when I get home after work around 8pm-----------God knows when. Lately though, I’ve just been doing a lot of Gouki combo study, so I haven’t been doing much online matches. I’ve let my cousins and family play on my ranked account and they’ve knocked down my player points from 2G’s to 700 something. x___x I on the other hand, when I DO play online I do a lot of Endless Battle cuz I’m consistently trying to build my skills with Gouki.
And just so everyone else knows, yes, I do play other characters, but its pretty much a promise that until I master Gouki’s style, I won’t be using anyone else online. Just thought i’d throw that out to you guys. I constantly use Gouki so whomever I play against I can learn how good f a match-up it is for Gouki.
The scene was declining? O____o??
And ‘3s’ as in SF3rdStrike?
I play GGPO (Akuma of course, lol) if thats what you mean?
Well its not like Akuma is a bad character with bad matchups all over the place. Akuma in good hands is dangerous to everybody because of his keep away game and his juggle ability… Akuma’s motto “Kill him before he kills me!” lol.
Indy at least you have a couple people playing 3S. I feel all alone on the ST / HDR bandwagon out here lol.
I should say, for the record, there is more talent out here than people realize. First we gotta catchup in the midwest, I think we’re still below Michigan, Ohio and Illinois, but we can catch 'em.
I say we all play like hell and throw hella tournaments this year all the way up to next year before Midwest Championships, then we all hop on a bus and go into that shit as Team Naptown 4 Horsemen …Or some other name.
There’s pretty much Ft.Wayne and Indianapolis. The best way is to get a bunch of people and then having 3 games going at once so everyone is getting practice in their said game. I know there are more SF4 players out there but they probably have no awareness of a community and definitely not of this thread existing. When we used to meet in Muncie we had big gatherings which leveled everybody up.
Also, lol at the Planet Zero front page article.
For the record, for Keits’s tournament in Chicago (which is no longer going to be Midwest Championships but Ultimate Fighting Game Tournament or some other such thing…) you really should consider taking the Amtrak. For real, my wife and I took a weekend vacation to Chicago and we got round trip tickets (and the trip is about 5 hours by train which isn’t bad when you don’t have to pay for parking or gas) for 40 dollars round trip… it was crazy dirt cheap if you get the tickets early enough.
I’m all for getting more involved and playing more. I feel like I’m finally starting to ‘get’ the Street Fighter 4 engine. I don’t know why but it just took me forever, there are still things I find super frustrating… but I’m getting used to it and I’m getting better and the game is actually starting to be fun for me now.
Yeah that whole Planet Zero thing is a total mess…
^i’m totally down to do that… simply because i’ve has always wand to ride a train… the first midwest major of the year is a good excuse
rumor has it we have new SF4 characters on the way… such a surprise from the patron gaming gods of expansion and gold digging, Capcom (and Blizzard)… my money is on Sean
at the beginning of september i’m getting a new work schedule to start school… i’ll be able to catch $10 tuesdays every week to supplement my game during the afternoon hours… gonna try to extenuate that into a league day or arcade cab tournament… stay stuned
Ya know during the release day of SF4 and super we had 20-30 people show up to compete in a mini tournament at Pendlton Pike gamestop. We have a lot of fun, theirs money matches and lots of trash talk. If we could just get a dedicated 20 or so players to train and level up then that’s all we would need to represent Indy at Midwest Championships/whatever major tourney. One way or another I’m going to Evo next year, soooooo… Whoever wants to be better at SF4 bad enough, heres your ticket to the long road of becoming and Evo finalist.
Just as an FYI with the Amtrak stuff, the station is 30 mins away from the venue while driving. You’d need to take a taxi to Northbrook or get as close as you can with public transportation, which is at least $4 and 40 minutes away with probably 6-7 stops.
(and you don’t get charged for parking at the hotel)
Is Keits going to have it at the same place? I guess I was thinking about Downtown Chicago where you still have to pay for parking at the hotel, but like I said that’s downtown.
But if you’re spliting a taxi with 2 other people, that probably wouldn’t a terrible expense if you did it twice, once there and once back to Union Station. Even if you rack up 25 dollars in taxi fees, that’s a total of 65.00 to travel from Indy to Chicago and if you drive a car you’ll spend close to that in gas unless you have a really fuel efficient car in which case its probably small and you’ll probably take yourself…
But I suppose if you can split gas its not too bad…
But on the Amtrak every two seats has two power outlets so I can plug in my laptop and play games on the way there… or someone could make one of those really cool XBOX 360 Laptop mods and you could practice SSF4 all the way up to Chicago
^just use a CRS cord … hooks up like a PC moniter cable and feeds the Xbox A/V straight to the monitor… good no hassle idea
I’m going to Bar Battles next Sat. if anyone wants to go an split gas.
