I’ve played Melty Blood occasionally, and Kewlmyc just posted earlier on this page saying he plays melty blood. But if you’re asking if there is a big scene for it here, then no, not really. The main games played at arsenal are UMvC3,GG,KoFXIII and occasionally beatmania.

Finally, someone saw the Ranbat post…I thought that it got overlooked w/ all the new blood coming in.
Seriously I would like to start a **Bi-Weekly Ranbat Series on Saturday nights for UMVC3 & SSFIV 2012. **Don’t get me wrong playing casuals at Arsenal is cool but I feel like none of us are really that hungry to beat each other and get better. A Ranbat series would change all that! A small but respectable tourney every other Saturday could just be the spark that we need to build are player base and raise are skill levels. Plus I will be recording all matches, so if you lose you can 1) Hold That Shit & 2) Watch your matches, learn from your mistakes and get better.
The reason why I chose UMVC3 and SSFIV b/c regardless of what I think of them (I’m looking at you Marvel) they both bring the most hype and a strong player base. After we get a month or two under our belts I would love to expand the series to the other games in the community as well. For example we have a very strong MK9 player base right here in Nap, but they do there own thing (See PowerUp Podcast Feat. G) why not combine all player bases?
Again I would like your input on this you guys…
Oh and Algol sucks! That bubble shooting fraud does not belong in SC. The only swag he has is the Throne, I can’t lie that shit is kinda hype. That and you can make him look like DOOM in CAS mode.

Also just let me KNOW anything and i’ll be up. Finally someone that understands, if this site was full of ren/zap tournaments would fly everywhere with removal of xbox.
I might come down with the purdue crew but i mean… 20 dollar venue fee to enter a game that might not even run… or if ran will have like 3 people.
I’m fine with ranbats, but I am not a super competitive person so I don’t really have much to say in that regard. Marvel probably gets the most numbers but unless the SF4 players actually bother to come out to arsenal it has been getting very low numbers lately. As it stands right now, Guilty Gear and 3rd Strike players have been repping their games better than anyone, it’s really up to each community to step their shit up if you want things to get more hype. Right now a lot of people aren’t even supporting what we have much less trying to make it grow.

If you are only coming for melty blood I really can’t guarantee you a very hype tournament at all. Unless we get some of the michigan/ohio players in town we have very little to offer locally. You might ask around in some of their threads and try to get a feel for who is going to be there, because as it stands I am one of the best players in town and that’s not saying much.

Yeah I want to run the Ran-Bat series…It should be for Ranking Points (Hence Ran-Bat) and a small cash prize pot. I mean depending on numbers if we got 3 to 5 bucks per entry someone could leave w/ some cash in there pocket…It will create hype and drive local players in our scene to step it up in there respective games. Plus this will expand the scene if we stay consistent, twice a month is not a big commitment…I would love to get Ft. Wayne and Purdue in on this as well!
I don’t think cash entry fees is the way to go, at least not yet. We might have a lot of people that would play for free, but if they have to pay money to enter a ranbat for a game they don’t care that much about then you might not get as many entries.
If it’s cheap enough I will probably enter just to support the community, but unless we get people from out of town I’m not sure how it will go, especially for any game that isn’t Marvel. Maybe start with $1 entry and see how it goes from there
If people do come out for this there’s also the question of space at arsenal and whether we need their permission to run something like this in their facilities.
I’m not trying to shoot down the idea or anything, these are just things that came to my mind. I know you are hype for tournaments and doing all you can for our community but keep in mind we are cheap and lazy so we might need to work at it for a while before we get to that point
A $1, Free entry…whatever…I just want to get some names on a bracket more than twice a year.
For marvel you could probably get by with an entry fee and if it was 3s or gg you could too but pretty much nobody at arsenal gives a fuck about 4 so its best to keep that as free entry.
