Indianapolis, IN: We do play games, I promise

@mystic

  • hey man good to see another north-sider, where did you get a job at? I am in Carmel as well.

@kewl

  • thank you for reading thru the thread a bit to see we already have some organization. If you make it out you will get plenty of tips from the good players our scene has.

… Melty blood? Atleast it sounds better then porngirls. So, welcome! keep your choices of GOOD GAMES open and make sure they are compatible

I work at MISO - https://www.midwestiso.org

I start monday

Nothing wrong with Melty Blood :0 I like the game myself, I just have a hard time finding opponents at it lol

We’ve been meeting at the Arsenal Game Room (http://www.arsenalgameroom.com/index.html) on Mondays (5-10pm) and Saturday(5-12pm). MvC and Guilty Gear are probably our most played games followed by KoF and SCV. I’ve never seen Tekken played and SFIV is fairly rare.

What’s up guys? You you already didn’t know…I’m back from China…peak season is OVER at work, and now’s the time for me to grind it out in KOFXIII ! Starting either this Saturday(Feb 11th) or Feb 18th I’m planning on making it to Arsenal on a weekly basis. I’m also looking for SERIOUS training partners both Online and Offline who are looking to level up.

I work a crazy schedule at work (Tues - Fri 6pm til 6am) so needless to say on those days I’ll be working and sleeping. I’d like to see if anyone would like to join training / learning about the game w/ me on my evenings off.

Look for me on PSN KOF XIII (GamerTag:STORMSHADOW108) on Sunday & Monday nights at 9pm! That combined w/ going to Arsenal on Saturday Nights should help myself and anyone else get a little better. Now, I know a lot of you go to Arsenal Monday nights as well but you know me and Mondays…I’m always hella late due to work stuff and real life LOL. But after the Monday session if your still looking for a fight I’ll be online.

Also, w/ all that being said I would like to start a Bi-Weekly Ranbat Series on Saturday nights for UMVC3 & SSFIV 2012. Reason being these are still the most two popular games…if we get that up and running consistently we could add other games to the line up as well (KOFXIII / SCV / MK9 / GG)…basically what ever you guys want to play…I’m down to bring my set up and record.

So. Sound off and let me know what you guys think…your input is vital (especially for the Ranbat Series). Time to tune up guys! NapTown Clutch is in a few short weeks.

Oh! One last thing if you are new to the NapTown community here’s the link to our YouTube page: “The NapTown Fighting Game Network”

I’ve been meaning to get to events such as Arsenal more, but long story short life sucks… but any who. I’m looking to level up my game and get more offline experience in. I’ll most likely be posting on this thread to get more info on stuff.

@KoonDroid ,Mystic, and Kewlmyc welcome to our scene just remember when you come to arsenal there is a $3 dollars minimum to spend for us all to be able to play.
@ ZAP when I get my PS3 back I’ll definitely be your training partner for the KOFXIII.

Hello to all the new people

We meet at Arsenal Game Room every Monday from 5pm-10pm and Saturday 5pm-midnight. They are a tabletop gaming store with a cafe and they simply ask that we make a minimum $3 purchase, which means that you don’t have to pay a cover charge unless you spend less than $3, in which case they will just round your total bill up to $3. This helps cover the electricity we use and make them a little profit so they can stay open and we can keep using their facilities. The food is not amazing but it’s decent enough if you’re hungry and the money goes to keep our meeting place open so its hard to complain.

Even if you are a new(er) player, the best thing you can do is come out as often as you can and play as much as you can. We play a variety of games and have players at all ends of the skill spectrum. We like to troll a bit in the thread but IRL we have really good overall sportsmanship and pretty much no drama at all.

Holy Shit! I didn’t know there was a scene in my city. I’ve been looking to get
more into fighting games as I enjoy watching them and this kind of excites me. Within the
next month i’ll try to make it out to Arsenal Games (never heard of it) but it’ll probably be on a Monday.

on PS3 or 360?

We play on both systems, it basically depends on who brings the setups. 360 has been more common lately but there’s usually at least one PS3 around. It’s best to get the proper dual modding or converters for your equipment so you can always play on your preferred style of controller regardless of the consoles provided.

If possible, bringing a setup for your game/console of choice is the best way to make sure it is available. Obviously the games played on each system will be up to the owner’s discretion, and while some people like myself may often bring systems/controllers and let other people use them for whatever, the best way to be sure something is available is to bring it yourself. At the very least it is highly recommended to bring your own stick/pad, we usually have some spares but not always.

Damn, lots of new people coming in. I don’t suppose I can get some of you guys to play BlazBlue with me, huh? lol

Looks like I’ll have to hit the lab in Marvel and learn a thing or two since it’s the most popular game out here. That and it’s the closest thing from Capcom that I’ll get which resembles an air dasher lol.

I’m thinking about bringing my own PS3 setup down to Arsenal when I go. What kind of tv’s / monitors are you guys using for that? I’m guessing 120 hz for the refresh rate, but other than that, any recommendations?

play guilty gear.

I’ll do it if someone brings a PS2 pad with them next time lol.

I’m pretty sure Kyle usually has one and maybe he still has his Saturn pad.

Cool, alright Kyle bring that pad and maybe I’ll play GG lol. I should get the PC (arcade version) to practice. The only downside to that is that you can’t actually practice block-strings and whatnot with the A.I. since there’s no training mode there.

Moy, if you come to Arsenal you will probably want to bring a ps3. I have mostly been bringing my 360 lately since it has 90% of my games, and while I have BB on that as well you will need a ps3 if you want to use your ps3 controller.

Play SCV…
