They just want everyone to pay like customers. You can buy him some posters but there will still be people showing up and loitering. He might find giving him a cheap gift more of an insult that anything.
There is no need to beat around the bush. People that are coming and not buying anything should have their names posted. It’s already been asked several times in this tread that people contribute and half the people going still aren’t. Anybody is allowed to come to Arsenal and it should be more of a club. People are coming and not paying their club fees.
People should have to open up a tab as soon as they walk in.
This is something Bill suggested actually. If you end up buying food or something then you will just pay for those items, but if you dont buy anything, then you would pay $3.
I think he meant getting some posters on top of whatever we do for Bill.
I’m not sure what to get him really. I know he’s an avid board gamer. We could possibly buy some Arsenal bucks (their store credit), and let him get whatever he wants, so that way we’re supporting the store and showing him some appreciation too. He might already get compensation in store credit (not sure), so that might not be the best thing. TBH it feels like a cop out. Everybody keep your ears open for what might make a good gift for him.
I agree, we should tell Bill to just take names and open tabs for everyone who comes in. I suspect that the people who aren’t paying also don’t bring setups, so the regulars can ask people to make a purchase before letting them play on their setup. I hate to go all police state on this, but I’m also embarrassed that it’s come to this.
Yeah, I didn’t mean getting him things instead of buying food. I just thought it might be a good excuse to show that we do appreciate being allowed to use the place to get together in large numbers and play games.
If it weren’t for the Arsenal, we probably won’t have much of a gaming scene. I hosted a small get together at my apartment last weekend, and cleaning the apartment, rearranging the furniture to accommodate multiple setups, and buying food and drinks (I know this wasn’t required, but was something I wanted to do) was more of a commitment than I would be willing to do more than once a month or so, much less two times a week! So I definitely appreciate having somewhere to go where I don’t have to worry about that stuff, and I’m sure others feel the same.
People really should be buying food, though. Buying food really isn’t unreasonable at all, it is more like a club fee like you said. If you think about it, it’s kind of like we’re getting free food for our paid membership. How sweet is that?
Yeah, the poster/decoration idea was probably stupid. I just know I wouldn’t mind a little change in scenery at Das Clubb.
Edit: I did mean on top of whatever we get Bill. Sorry if that was confusing. I’m typing during sample incubations and probably not paying full attention to what I’m writing…
At the least, a Thank You xmas card with cash in it wouldnt hurt.
I admit, I haven’t been buying things lately when I come down. I know it’s only five bucks, but I’m completely flat broke right now. I had to trade in a good bit of games to get UMvC3 just to keep up with the scene. I finally found a job that works with my class schedule, so starting next week I’ll be good to go. He’s got some awesome board games there I’ve been wanting to pick up, so I’m sure I’ll make up for it in the end.
Or maybe a gift card for somewhere nice to eat? I know I’m always happy to get those, but I’m fat and love food, so I’m not sure everyone feels that way…
A thank you card would be ok, but I think a gift might be awkward. It would be nice if there was a sign or something that made it known that $3/buying food is official policy.

Both Felicia and Captain America feel pretty derp imo. Captain America can jump and throw that super invincible shield, dash forward and start up a block string then jump back and rinse and repeat, Felicia can mash what ever she wants and go straight into the over head kick and it seems incredibly safe and fast then she can rinse and repeat that.
It litterally feels like you need to spend a super bar just to get them off of you.
Whoever asked for mashing supers to be brought back in ultimate mvc3 should be locked in a rape room with Nemesis
other than that it’s pretty fun I suppose
I hate the mashing supers with a passion, there is slight negative edge on it so sometimes, I have to wait a second or two after the super or I get dhc’d mashing dat shiz lol
