Main reason I like GG is because I really like the way they color their characters and the amount of sharp angles. Thats what got me interested initially but the possibilities of the game kept me wanting to learn it. My main problem with the newer games isn’t the speed but rather the inputs themselves. They seem to lag behind me and I end up executing faster than the game will allow me to do. Thats my main problem with SF4 and BB, it just feels like there is a disconnect between me and the game that I just don’t feel in older games.

I recommend putting phoenix and Zero in the first and second slots of your team so they die faster and get out of Doom’s way

I love MvC3 until someone gets hit. Then it turns into a single player game for 10-15 seconds. In GG there’s some longish combos, but both players have to be thinking about bursts. There’s a higher rate of interesting decisions to make than you find in most modern fighters.

on a Marvel side note i have made an alteration to my team that some of y’all have come to know during the 2 times i’ve been down to compete. Trish and Phoenix are still there. miss Amaterasu and her meter building assist are both gone. i like my new addition better… :badboy:
@ cheeseface I’ve always liked GG I have GGXX so that’s when I started playing it but not ever knowing about Indy having a seen back then I never had a good chance to play anyone better then me or even figure out the games real potential. Now that no one is really playing with SSF4 or MVC it’s a good time for most people to get into the game. The game is just fun:rock:

GGs to all at Arsenal tonight. I was trying not to sound preachy when offering tips, but it’s definitely good to see a community going. Good character variety too. Let’s keep it going on mondays, we had a good turnout.
Don’t worry about that, at this stage It’s incredibly helpful. I got a few things to think about when I play so I’ll keep working. Right now my priority is trying to get some basic combos down. I think I understand the gist of how Venom is supposed to play, but I’m not capitalizing off of advantageous situations like I should.
Would you guys be interested in running ranbats every week? It doesn’t have to always be GG (although it would make sense to do that with our current Monday crowd). I’m thinking we can maybe run 2 games a week with enough setups, and we can run them on a rotation. We could pitch in a dollar for entry and winner takes all. It’d be enough to pay for Kyle or Adrian’s dinner basically.

I’d be down for ranbats every Monday. I’m always good to play some GG (though after the first two hours of Dark Souls, I can tell I’m about to get rusty as all hell), but we can shake it up and do ranbats for random stuff. I’d like to play some Fate/Unlimited Codes, but I don’t have a SwapMagic. Anyone got one?
As far as paying for dinner, not if I have a say in it. I’d much rather help out and teach people stuff about their characters than be 50/50 playing Kyle for dinner.
I GUESS I could learn some 3S if there’s gonna be people to play. Gotta start from scratch though.

Honestly 3s can be hard to organize at times. Zionsville crew is pretty good at the game but don’t usually have the ability to show up at Arsenal. I never seem to know when Justin is going to show up and Mario has a pretty busy work schedule so it can be difficult to get all the 3s players to show up in one place. However, if you guys are interested in doing a 3s ranbat we can definitely arrange that. We could do weekly ranbats; Monday is Guilty Gear and Friday is 3s.
