Speaking of Sudden Death, what would you guys consider a good buy in for that tourney? I think the main games are $5 buy in. I have no problem paying 5 bucks to get into sudden death, but it seems weird running it at the same price as a main game.

Hey. I haven’t been around for a while (it’s been kind of messed up times for me in the last couple months). I’m going to be up in Indy tomorrow anyway, though, so I’ll try to join you guys at Arsenal. I’ve been working on new teams in MvC3, so I’m looking forward to playing them in person.
@Kyle or Valentine: How does this look for ky as far as oki goes?
7d, 5s, 5hs, 236d, dash, 5k, 5s, 5hs, 2d
Ky’s oki is all about setting meaty 6K, dust fireball, air dust fireball, fake j.h, j.d airdash shenanigans, and his amazing 5d. For mixups use a lot of 5k (low), a little bit of 5d (overhead), and sprinkle in a safe distance greed sever (214k) every once in a blue moon. Make sure you frc the dust fireballs so you can set up extra pressure. Also, if you throw them you can FRC the throw into a 5s-2h launch into air string.

My favorite Ky oki is to drop a charged stun edge or something and then jump, whiff a j.K or j.P, then either do a falling j.S overhead or land and do 2K or throw. You can also just do a TK j.D and then go for the high/low mixup as you fall down. They have to stand up into the j.D or else you get a free overhead, and standing up causes the j.D to hit and force blockstun. if they try to push a button the j.D hits them and they become airborne, which leads to more damaging combos than a normal ground string.
Ky is secretly a Melty Blood character
I’m trying to get down Venom’s 6P xx 6HS xx 28S loop. It’s pretty hard, you basically have just enough time to charge carcass ride. I’ve been looking for any tricks that help make it easier, but it looks like you just have to grind in training mode for awhile. Once I get it, it should open up some high damage mixup options, which is nice.
I’m starting to think about a 2nd character, probably Axl, Testament or Potemkin. I don’t think trying a new character would be a good idea at this point though.
Anyone else on GG online yet?

ok the Indianapolis scene still intrigues me. i feel so out of the loop. so recently i learned that almost all of you really wanted to play GG deep down but for various reasons just now all at once decided screw it, the time has come for everyone to convert. 
so now i am real curious, why do y’all suddenly post in German half the time? i don’t understand German so it makes browsing this thread faster because i can skip past half the posts which i can’t read, but it’s just odd. what is with all these weird changes in your scene?

I have casually played GG since 2002, mainly playing GG Isuka at the arcade at Purdue from 2004-2006, and lightly followed the storylines as well. Now that I am in school (again) and had some surgeries, I can no longer play sports as much as I did, so I decided to take gaming more seriously.
As for the German, well if you make it to Das Clubb, all shall be made known…
I have no idea what they’re talking about either. I can’t say for sure why there’s a good size revival of GG happening, but I think it’s that people are tired of “slow” fighters. Yes, MvC3 is fast, but it’s also loaded with bullshit tactics and run by top tier. GG allows you to have a fast fighter with fun combos, deep tactics and OPTIONS. Faultless defense, instant block, dead angle, blue/gold burst and slashback ensure that you always have an option at some point. Not being forced to play certain characters to win is also a big bonus. Don’t like Mags, Logan, She-Hulk, Sentinel, Doom or Phoenix? Too bad, gotta use one of them if you want to compete in MvC3. GG gives you the freedom to play any character as the balance is extremely good. There will always be a bad matchup here and there, but nothing is completely unwinnable.
My last class today gets out at 5:45, so I’ll be there as close to 6 as I can.
