I respected you until you said skullgirls, i’ll play brawl minus though if it’s at arsenal.
Hopefully I can get the two other Brawl Minus players in the state to show up. I won’t be there until after 9p. Duty calls. SkullGirls looks fun. The mechanics look pretty solid, and the level of freedom is borderline ridiculous. Gameplay matters much much more than the games graphic style…at least for most fighting game players.

I’ll be honest. The only game that actually makes me feel squeamish is Arcana Heart. I can live without all the panty shots. Must be a cultural thing.
Skull Girls is beast mode. 3 v 3. Choose you own assist. It can be anything the game has. The infinite detection system seems good…but I wonder if it will be able to differentiate between that and loops.

The infinite detection system is built around detecting loops, so you’ll have to mix things up a bit to get a good combo without triggering it. It reminds me of BBCS2 Arakune combos, in CS1 he had like 3 or 4 different loops he could do, but in CS2 he has to combine them all into one combo or risk triggering same move proration and ruining the combo.
I kind of wish they would have put magic skirts in Skullgirls that never do panty shots like in Arcana Heart. It really doesn’t bother me if a game does have panty shots, but it does make it harder to get people to play it and you have to listen to them bitch endlessly about it even though its a completely irrelevant issue.
Fuck AH3 gallery mode though, that shit really is for pedos.

Indy told me about one the the greatest clips to come out of the Indianapolis fighting game scene…Adrain AKA “DaTruth” made the Dr. Sub-Zero podcast for his flow that he busted out over the summer at one of barzaad’s many SSFIV / Marvel sessions…this is priceless.

i am surprised how your scene has suddenly went GG crazy all of a sudden. what is this all about? just curious.
Various reasons.
We have finally managed to get regular weekly gatherings at a public location so we have a lot of new players or at least more encounters between certain groups of players that rarely saw each other before, so now anyone who was interested before but didn’t really have many chances to play can actually get some match experience.
There are a lot of people in the fighting game community at large who like Guilty Gear but never really got into it due to lack of competition or fear of getting crushed by experienced players, and now we have a bit of a local scene for it and a mixture of new and experienced players that provides a better environment for new players to enter.
It also helps that some of the people who have been working to keep our weekly gatherings going are also long-time players and/or supporters of the game. I am there pretty much every time with a Guilty Gear setup so it’s always available.
I think many of these same factors have also contributed to an increase in 3rd Strike’s popularity in Indianapolis, along with the release of 3SOE. I also get the impression that not everyone is pleased with the way the “mainstream” competitive games have been evolving lately and are starting to look at older and/or less popular games as an alternative.

I think I’m improving, but I’m also really wanting for a training mode. There’s some combos and setups I’d like to practice but I can’t get them down in a real match yet. I may have just found a solution though.
I figured we would probably wait until 6-6:30 or something. Organizing events is not my specialty though so whatever
