Do you choose SF5 over Ultra sf4? I have Ultra and I don’t have sf5 because I don’t have a ps4… so in your own honest opinion… which do you enjoy playing more? seems like once 5 came out, Ultra seems forgotten…

I haven’t played sf4 since V came out. I likely won’t ever play it again. Honestly, SF4 lacks the timeless quality that most of the other SF games have. It was dropped quickly after V came out for good reason.
I see, I better get a ps4… so now in SF5 can I purchase the characters outfits and stages of dies the earned fight money pretty much do all that?
SF5 is the Street Fighter game I’ve been waiting for since the 90s, and have dreamt of since the early 2000s. I’m not even shilling here. I love this game!
USF4 is great though. I won’t jump on the hate SF4 bandwagon. But I doubt I will ever go back to it again. It’s easy to go back and play SF2, SF3, SFA, CvS2, but 4 I’m done with.
I love playing SFV, but all that love can’t save it from me wishing that it fucking dies just to make an example of developers that throw out a half finished piece of shit on the market, and don’t even care to fix its technical problems over the next 10 month.

I prefer 4 because there is more to it. V is a very black and white style game where everything feels more stripped down than ever.
That’s not to say I think 4 is that great. I’ve described it as:
4 is intensely frustrating but fun when you aren’t the one being ran through Oki. A lot of the game can be hard.
5 is boring but fair. There’s nothing that challenges you aside from playing the player.
I’ll take busted over boring.
I will say ultra is pretty boring. AE 2012 is the definitive version of 4.
4 has the better nuance and more varied options. 5 everything is spelled out and it’s mainly a reaction fest for punishing things, and the priority system means spacing isn’t the biggest thing anymore by a large margin, but there’s also strength of move to take into account rather than just speed and range of move.
5 plays more like a 3D game than a streetfighter. But it’s still fun in the end, especially season 2 since a lot of the vanilla has been taken out and guessing and bad situations are more common which allows a more psychological and nuanced approach to decision making rather than JUST raw reactions.
In other words 4 is more about perfect spacing
5 is more about the best reactions.
They both have positives and negatives. SFIV had FADC’s out of DPs, focus attacks, vortex and ultras. SFV has messier neutral, stubby normals, and somewhat linear pressure in comparison.
SFV wins if you want a better time online, 5 bars in SFV feels great, SFIV is more consistent with netcode but the matches always have that underwater feel. Makes reacting harder.
SF4 = too much stuff
SF5 = not enough stuff
You can play against the PS4 players.
Thanks guys! yeah I don’t even play online…lol I just play for fun and for the love of Street Fighter. I’m thinking about buying a PS4 and SFV this week but so many of my friends and coworkers tell me get an XBOX ONE but there is no SFV on there and everyone tells me PS4 is way better and now they have a PS4 pro but I think you need a 4K tv for that…
