Seriously though you just need to take a break from the internet for about a day, and just let all your salt disappear. You’re acting like a little bitch because characters you didn’t like are making it through.
Also the thing about tourney players is completely retarded. There are quite a few people who simply just don’t have the spare time or money to make it out to a tourney. Why should your vote be worth more than mine just because life gets in the way of my hobbies? Just because someone hasn’t been to a tournament before doesn’t mean they can’t be someone who plays fighting games. And the thing about EVO players being worth more? Same levels of stupidity. If I can’t make it to the few local events that are kind of near me, what the fuck makes you think I can get all the way out to Vegas for EVO?
Another thing. A lot of the people that are voting for the characters you don’t want, also helped put up quite a bit of the money needed to even hit the stretch goals for fan vote characters. Without those people this character poll wouldn’t even be happening and the characters you want wouldn’t even have a chance of existing. So be grateful those “People who don’t even play the game” decided SG was worth a single penny and helped us out by at least giving you the option of who to vote for.
I can’t complain honestly. I was unable to donate during the time the donations started. I would have loved to. I would have loved for the chance to vote for Issac, Beowolf, and Feng. However, most of you all are doing it for me.
I see some awesome characters here in the new lineup. While 1 or 2 of them aren’t my cup of tea in the least, 2/3 of the characters that I wanted made it THIS far. Personally, I hope Issac makes it into the DLC roster. If he doesn’t, like I said I can’t complain.
At this point they should’ve left them mystery and done a “Pick your 3 favorites” (no rounds) months down the line when they would be ready to start them and decide from that.
Perhaps they should do that for poll 2? 4 votes only and whoever gets the most wins. Just that one round. I kinda think the voting should be done differently for the second poll really. The mystery and uncertainty combined with how long the rounds take probably only makes some people rage even harder.
Peter has already mention that they’ll probably accelerate the 2nd character vote since it seems damn near everybody votes within the first few days. However there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the 4 round voting system that’s currently in place.
There’s no need to overreact and make rash decisions based upon a vocal butthurt, crybaby minority that are incapable of coping with undesired results of the democratic voting process.
I’m kind of sad that Marie isn’t a candidate anymore, she was my first pick for her abilities, looks, personality, and importance in the story, and since the game is called “Skullgirls” I would pick her since she is the only actual “Skullgirl” that has been shown (Besides Parasoul, and Umbrella’s mother.)
In the end I’ll be happy with whoever the fans choose, I admit I will be slightly annoyed if freaking Beowulf gets in since to me he is the most boring, and average looking of all the characters male or female, and it sounds like he has absolutely no special abilities or traits besides being a “Pro Wrestler” (Ugh) and fighting with a chair, and having a dead wolf for clothing, if he gets in it’s guaranteed to be because of the majority American vote.
Although I still will have fun playing with him, because Alex and the guys put a lot of work into making these characters, and I’m sure he will still be enjoyable to play as.
However my opinion is that they should have just focused on the story important characters first before letting the fans decide who gets in, from what Alex said it sounds like we have no chance of a true story mode until Marie, Dhalia, and Umbrella are playable, which probably isn’t going to be for several years at the rate it’s going now, but for now we just enjoy the ride.
As for who I think the community will choose in the end… well it’s hard to guess since it’s a blind vote, and all the characters who got this far are very popular, so I give any of them a pretty good chance.
are you surprised? not everyone is a blasé about this whole clusterF. Shit, I’m considering asking for my 36 bucks back. And ordering my next shark fin soup with an extra dash of spite. And it’s way beyond wanting my character to win, there are about 5 characters that I really don’t want in and only one or 2 that really make me rage. And the rest would honestly be ok, be it Adam or Ottomo or Regina, whatever.
Yup, FANS donating 1$ for the right of trolling the whole voting. They could have at least have weeded the thing out to 8 relevant characters instead of having stuff like andy and stanley in there (or even juju for that matter, that was a grade A CF).
@Light: saltiness doesn’t quite reach this far, it’s about principle. Like I said, out of my 4 original choices, 2 are still in it and at least one (Eliza) is very likely to be there for the final. But I just can’t stand how people are fine with the possibility of 225k being blown on an unsubstantial meme.
What if everyone was so childish as to request a refund if their character didn’t win? We wouldn’t get any mystery characters.
You donated 36 dollars? consider that helping to fund Squigly.
Why do you feel such entitlement, when you are already getting your tier rewards, plus 5 DLC characters for your money?
While I have my own preferences, I would have been satisfied to watch Mike Z throw 2 darts at the silhouette picture and call it a day.
This whole voting thing is for the fans.
because I’m the kind of person who smacks someone in the head for walking into a (two hundred and twenty five thousand dollar) lamp-post. and yeah, 2 darts at the silhouettes would have been much better.
There’s only 2 slots, and you need Black Dahlia, Umbrella, and Marie for canon storyline. It wasn’t going to happen anyway outside of a sequel.
It doesn’t matter that much because it’s only a waste if the character is useless. Right now, ALL the choices are insubstantial until they’re made. The dev team have proven themselves that they won’t let any slots be wasted.
I donated $36, and voted Stanley. I just like him, not because of a meme. Won’t ask for my money back either if he doesn’t get picked because it still supports the game, Squigly, Big Band, Robo Fortune, and anything else they could use with it. The memes and campaigning only started AFTER the voting began. By then, most people have already made their choices of who they like the most. Calling contributors troll voters because you think it’s just a meme or they picked a character you don’t like is insulting.
Except for those who threw a fit and asked for their money back because of the voting. They’re just dicks.
