My issues with Bayonetta have to do with wondering why any guys can find her attractive when she has such a small head and otherwise weirdly-proportioned body. Mostly the small head, though. It’s so weird to look at.
re:fighting games, yeah there’s some oversexualized females featured there, but I mean, I just don’t play them. I’ve yet to encounter anything I actually took offense to, and I’d be lying if I said there weren’t any nice looking guys to fawned over.
Yeah, there’s some somewhat sketchy characters designs. But there’s also pretty cool nonsexualized ones, especially in KoF. So in the end… I don’t really care.

Is it wrong that I don’t hate or have a problem with any female character I’ve ever encountered in a fighting game and that I actually really like most of them?
Some are objectified, yes, but I don’t vilify or get offended by a character just from what they wear or how big their assets are; that’s kinda…shortsighted.
Then again, I’m not a bitter person and I just love women.
I don’t have a huge problem with any female fg designs, but some of them annoy me a little.
You got Mai, who can bounce around the screen and somehow manage to keep her bosom from busting out of her loose vest.
Ivy’s costume was reduced to leather straps in SC4.
Even Rose irritates me a bit; the fact that she slides across the ground in leggings and a dress. It’s called friction. You don’t see Chun doing that shit; her legs would end up looking like Gief’s.

Moral guardians need to step the fuck down and take a look back, no one takes Soul Calibur or DOA’s characters seriously, and if you seriously feel offended by those parodies of human beings, you really need to reevaluate yourself. Yes the creator is a creep and isn’t right in the head, refers to his characters as “his daughters” - such would be obvious to any sensible human being seeing those models, and probably letting out an amused chuckle at the sight.
Same for Street fighter characters, they are for the most part comical parodies of national stereotypes. They aren’t meant to look like anything realistic or even “mature”, they’re just crazy doodles come to life.
It’s like getting offended at a saturday morning cartoon. You’re so busy soapboxing you’re losing sight of what exactly is that you’re bitching against : something with litterally no impact and no breadth of influence.
