Nash’s super can be blocked so it can chip, its just a single hit.
I’m thinking that the no chip kills is going to be nothing but good and heavily favour zoning characters. Not having chip kill provides more weight to learning how to open up your opponent when putting off offense either through frame traps or using throws (this is why throw range needs to be buffed to a respectable distance). If someone with no life is just content blocking then they will have to watch you build metre until super and you get the chip kill anyway. It’s also more beneficial to zoning/keep away characters because you can build metre in a safer position than someone with only rush down tools. Cammy has it the worst with the current system because she needs to constantly risk reversals to build any kind of metre now and force a finish where as every other character that we know of can retain some kind of zoning or counter zoning currently. Birdie is going to be fucking hell to deal with thanks to banana peel/can for V-Trigger + Chain toss for zoning mix-ups.
I know what you mean. I used to think that way years a go but then he grew on me. If at the least I want his default color scheme to be changed, but even that has kinda become iconic. Kinda
Definitely not. The damage output is so high in this game that a combo into a critical art is around 50%. Even something like Ryu doing j.RH, cr.Fierce xx DP is like 40%.
Does anyone know if Charlie can v-skill normal hits? I know it’s called ‘bullet clear’ so it makes sense if it’s only projectiles but I know I saw LI Joe use it to parry a kick from Dios X’s Bison, but not sure if that’s only in this build or if it will become common. He may become OP if he can ‘clear’ normal hits too, which would be awesome! haha
Yes, it’s a normal hit as well if you use it up close. It’s actually one of his best pokes with fast start up, good hit box, and lots of active frames. It’s not a parry like some people think. The only parry in the game is Ryu’s V-Skill. Bison’s V-Skill is more of a counter than a parry. People think Bison’s can be used as a parry because of some vids of him not throwing the fireball; however, that only happens against other fireballs. If he uses his V-Skill successfully against a normal it will always throw the fireball automatically even if you just tap the V-Skill.
I really like the game so far. Really digging the visuals and animation, and gameplay seems great.
The only thing I’m a little bit concerned is about wake-up.
I do get the trauma out of hard-knockdowns from SF4, but isn’t it a little too much?
Quick-rising opponents spend almost no time on the ground.
It does gives this game an unique pace and I like that, but I also think knockdown situations are interesting. If the timing was just a little slower, it would be easier to setup some nice meaties and okizeme without compromising the speed too much.
Right, so Nash’s bullet clear is for absorbing/poking.
Bison’s v-skill can reflect projectiles and also normals with a fireball, right? But then wouldn’t reflecting a normal with a fireball leave him open to attack as the reflect would take more frames to generate a fireball than the opponent can throw a light? Did you test this?
What about ex-moves against Bison’s v-skill? Can it handle more than 1-hit?
I believe it was said the way it works is it’s active for a certain number of frames and stops absorbing once that’s over. So in some circumstances it could absorb multiple hits but in others it wouldn’t (got beaten by scissor kicks.)
IMO you don’t have a real counter unless it interrupts whatever you’re doing. Throw > counter > SRK > throw.
