Improvements or changes you would like to see in SFV

Though I get the gist of what you were saying. Personally I think Capcom were on the right track with Championship Mode in vanilla, which for reasons unknown, they dropped it from subsequent releases completely. Championship Mode satisfied many of the things you are talking about and made ranked mode pretty fun.

Something using Championship Mode as a foundation would be pretty cool for them to revisit in SF5.

those are all true in 3s as well (except crouch tech gives you crouch jab instead of crouch short) and throws are great in that game. I think it’s clear those factors alone do not make throws weak.

Crouch tech is much less prevalent in 3s because of parry.

I find that ā€œ3s has crouchtech as wellā€ argument to be disengenuous since in 3s people dont usually crouchtech because they are scared of getting parried into huge damage.

I could see the argument that having simple ways to blowup crouchtech is a huge factor, though. And that i left that part out… But i didnt leave that part out. I put it in when i said that crouchtechs dont have a standing throw animation. If they did have a standing throw animation, then low /throw would be a viable mixup when in throw range… Assuming that the throw wiff doesnt autoblock lows.

-All street fighter fans in one place. I.e. there’s no little sub-communities such as ā€˜I hate SF4’ groups and watch them go back to 3rd Strike.

-Super combo system removed. Instead have ultra combo meters of a maximum limit of 150%. Ultra combos themselves consume 100%. EX moves uses up 10% and Focus Cancels cost 20%. Losing player from the previous round can carry over unused ultra combo fillings. Winning player must refill his from scratch.

-Make SF5 simplistic like Super Turbo and KOF’98 (as well as any SNK fighting game older than 98). I might say ā€˜no’ to FADC’s as it contradict this point.

-Ultra combo meter slowly fills up on its own when your health is too low - below 15%.

-Still be able to move your character, attack and/or taunt after KO’ing your opponent like you could in 3rd Strike and Garou Mark of the Wolves. Bit annoying you can’t do that in SF4.

-Change between Ultra combos at end of the round.

-Omega mode in SF5 like in USF4.

-Ken to have his B,D,DB + K like he had in CvS2. And Ryu has his HCF+K as in SF3.

-Dudley’s taunt can do damage just like in 3rd Strike. Same for everybody else’s taunt where appropriate.

-Colours to be removed. I don’t like colours. Just the character’s default colours when you select them. Instead of colours, different outfit/clothes. Tekken games has done this.

-Throws to be kept on LK+LP. None of this fwd+HP or HK.

-Each individual fighter has his/her own background like in Alpha 3. And their own leitmotif playing too.

-Ultra combos takes one button instead of three like in SF4, and Alpha 1 to 2. Pushing three buttons piss me off.

-People have black eyes and cut lips as the fight goes on. People like Fei Long and anyone else with no shirt can have black marks and bruises across their chest when hit. Clothes rip and some items/accessories such as Bison’s hat or Akuma’s necklace falls off when taken too much upper body damage. Just like in Art of Fighting. Of course bruises heal up and damaged clothes magically repair themselves to new at the start of the new round.

I’d like people in the background to not do stupid stuff. Like that guy from the skater park stage from SFXTK, is he like dancing with the spray cans? Take out all the silliness.

I’ve said it before but i’ll say it again…you cant increase walkspeeds without having to remove the forward dashes.
you cant have both.
or else people will be all over you on your wake up and totally negate V’s faster wake up.

use your brains people.
think of consequences of the things you ask for.

that said, I prefer faster walkspeeds so I’m 100% A ok with removal of the forward dash.

They can increase walk speeds and still have a forward and backdash. What would taking dashes out do?

Personally, I’d love to see the Guard Break System from Street Fighter Alpha 3 return. Made the game more exciting when you can’t stay on the defensive for too long.

And on a lesser note, it’d be awesome for Jon Talbain/Gallon from Darkstalkers appear in this game (the other Darkstalkers wouldn’t really fit in well, besides maybe Hsien Ko). I mean they brought in a bunch of Final Fight characters…

Theres Final Fight characters in SF because FF characters are just human martial artists and FF takes place in the same universe as Street Fighter. Also the original Final Fight was planned as a sequel to the first Street Fighter.

As asteriskblue noted. Final Fight was originally titled ā€œStreet Fighter '89ā€ and was supposed to be the sequel to SF1. It’s always been part of the SF universe. Guile and Chun Li actually make cameos in Final Fight 2. When Capcom originally asked the Final Fight team to make Final Fight 2 they made SF2. Though later they did make FF2.

SF universe has Final Fight and Slam Masters as part of the same universe. Project Justice/Rival Schools is ATM not considered part of the same universe and Sakura’s appearance is considered non-canon, though I could see them folding the universes together in the future as they meld well.

Darkstalkers is it’s own universe and always has been.

If they speed things up, I hope they do it for everything but lights. In other words, keep jabs and shorts as slow as they are now.

I can understand where there might be some confusion regarding this. In Felicia’s ending in Night Warriors has her mentioning wanting Blanka to be her leading man.

Didn’t know that. Likely non-canon. They do that a lot in endings, especially for silly characters (felicia certainly being one of em.)

Dark stalkers has always had a lot of goofy undertones on top of the dark exterior.

Now imagine if they had Cammy or Vega’s forward walk speeds + their dash.
Do you think their tier ranks would remain mid after that change?

Doesnt 3S have characters with good walk speed and good dashes?

Chun has the fastest forward dash at 15F, she is the only character in the game with a 15F dash and is nearly as fast as Vega (only slower backwards). Also, other than not being low profile M. Bison and Abel’s dashes are better than Juri’s (unless she is in FSE). Juri’s forward dash is also not one of the best, it’s 19F unless she does a special move after which makes it 17F. This makes characters like Ibuki, Cammy, Yun, Yang, and Seth all have forward dashes almost as far or farther while also being 1F faster in most situations.

If the overall game speed increased then dashes and walkspeeds would need to be adjusted accordingly. Removing them completely doesn’t sound great.

I don’t understand people who say that you can’t have fast walkspeeds with dashes, when you have a game that shows otherwise.

Mentioning 3s anywhere except a few threads usually doesn’t end well. You’d be surprised how many people still hate on the game here because it’s not ST here.

The rules still apply though. I think people are confusing overall game speed to walk speed. Makoto in 3s still has slow walk speed and a amazing dash.
