Obviously, yeah. The game certainly won’t be the same thing in 2-3 years after its release. I just wonder if they will actually add new mechanics or just expand on the existing ones?
For example: if Ryu uses hadoken & it’s a moment away from hitting rose, She can use Soul Spark to absorb the Hadouken in it’s first frame (or two). This would double the dmg power of soul spark.
Why do this instead of just recording the dummy doing something and trying to punish it yourself? Want to know if X is safe/unsafe then set the dummy to do X and try to punish it as P1. Why would you do X and record the dummy doing the punish and automate the reversal?
But she already has reflect so i dont see why make it absorb. I’d just make the projectile faster and call it a day. She might not even need them since this game is so focused on footsies.
different attacks and such could be given to Rose (Rose’s master uses some sort of crystal to paralyze her opponents for example). If most of her move were taken by other characters (bison v-skill, chun v-trigger) and they really wanted rose in sfv, I can only imagine her being revamped
just dont give her dumb moves like soul satellite or illusion spark
Rose doesn’t need anything like that since she already has reflect. What I’d like to see, if she comes back, is for the scarf in her Soul Spark animation to have pushboxes once again like they did in the Alpha series.
It’s not about practicing on block punishes, it’s about testing setups/strings to see what the opponent can do to beat it, or to practice doing them safely. It’s not technically needed if you have both record and save states though, so long as they’re implemented to work together correctly (they are in SFIV).
Alright, after watching the latest influx of gameplay, I have to say that the background elements need work, a lot of work. I’ll take gameplay improvements over background any day, but having the backgroud elements and models be high ps2 quality is not remotely acceptable to me. Can they really not be given the lightest smidgen of more effort? The characters in karin’s stage look absolutely hideous.
I don’t want additional stress to performance either, but I highly doubt that’s the best they can do without affecting performace. Those models are bad in every regard.
Building off what @Hawkingbird said, whatever it takes to make the stages playable in tournament. I’m not going to notice the background characters after a month anyway.
There are PS2 games with huge crowds of people in the background cheering.
The zombie models in Dead Rising 1 on Xbox 360 are more detailed than those people and there are thousands on screen at once.
The background character models looking as poor as they do has nothing to do with performance or hardware issues it has everything to do with bad artistry.
