Improvements or changes you would like to see in SFV

Obviously, yeah. The game certainly won’t be the same thing in 2-3 years after its release. I just wonder if they will actually add new mechanics or just expand on the existing ones?

Disclaimer: I’m terrible at explaining shit so plz bear with me (Not that familiar with the SF Notations and Terminology).

A certain improvement/addition to Rose if/when she returns: Make the first 1 or 2 frames of Soul Spark absorb whatever projectile comes its way.

For example: if Ryu uses hadoken & it’s a moment away from hitting rose, She can use Soul Spark to absorb the Hadouken in it’s first frame (or two). This would double the dmg power of soul spark.

Why do this instead of just recording the dummy doing something and trying to punish it yourself? Want to know if X is safe/unsafe then set the dummy to do X and try to punish it as P1. Why would you do X and record the dummy doing the punish and automate the reversal?

Why?

For more effect & efficiency.
The move itself is already slow, isn’t it? Might as well make use of that.

But she already has reflect so i dont see why make it absorb. I’d just make the projectile faster and call it a day. She might not even need them since this game is so focused on footsies.

It would be nice if they incorporate a bit of UDON’s story and that Rose is actually a combination of her late master reborn in that child we see in the comics:

different attacks and such could be given to Rose (Rose’s master uses some sort of crystal to paralyze her opponents for example). If most of her move were taken by other characters (bison v-skill, chun v-trigger) and they really wanted rose in sfv, I can only imagine her being revamped

just dont give her dumb moves like soul satellite or illusion spark

Rose doesn’t need anything like that since she already has reflect. What I’d like to see, if she comes back, is for the scarf in her Soul Spark animation to have pushboxes once again like they did in the Alpha series.

Mika should have an indicator of her current powerup state over he v-meter. Like a little microphone with a number next to it.

Lol 200% damage

It’s not about practicing on block punishes, it’s about testing setups/strings to see what the opponent can do to beat it, or to practice doing them safely. It’s not technically needed if you have both record and save states though, so long as they’re implemented to work together correctly (they are in SFIV).

Alright, after watching the latest influx of gameplay, I have to say that the background elements need work, a lot of work. I’ll take gameplay improvements over background any day, but having the backgroud elements and models be high ps2 quality is not remotely acceptable to me. Can they really not be given the lightest smidgen of more effort? The characters in karin’s stage look absolutely hideous.

I’m fine with background characters being PS2 quality. I don’t want the stages to add any additional stress to performance.

I agree with whomever said the background characters are horrible.

It’s really distracting having these shitty looking models acting goofy in the background.

I don’t want additional stress to performance either, but I highly doubt that’s the best they can do without affecting performace. Those models are bad in every regard.

Building off what @Hawkingbird said, whatever it takes to make the stages playable in tournament. I’m not going to notice the background characters after a month anyway.

You want the best out of the backgrounds then less things need to be happening on them.

There are PS2 games with huge crowds of people in the background cheering.

The zombie models in Dead Rising 1 on Xbox 360 are more detailed than those people and there are thousands on screen at once.

The background character models looking as poor as they do has nothing to do with performance or hardware issues it has everything to do with bad artistry.

Capcom Vs. SNK 2 is an example of gorgeous, tasteful 3D backgrounds. Replace the 2D sprites with 3D models and there you go.

The BG characters should be not stumbling around and acting goofy. It’s distracting and looks stupid.

Dead Rising runs on 30 FPS.
