Some of the biggest sports stars are the biggest shit talkers.
It has nothing to do with their skill level being high or low but more of a personality. Some people just like to talk, it also could be use as a psychological advantage. I myself don’t shit talk but I wouldn’t mind if my opponent did.
I understand that and agree w/ u. In all honesty the sht talking actually in a weird way inspires me more to shut that mouth. I don’t shit talk usually, but I don’t personally mind it.

However, talking trash can be used as a part of strategically demoralizing opponents. That’s usually a pretty weak strategy, but it’s about as old as prostitution.
Ali (the boxer) was known as a big trash-talker but he did it without going too far or really digging for insults. The same can’t be said for a lot of modern-day sports stars (cough Mayweather cough) who get carried away with their own cockiness.
That isn’t what bothers me though. What bothers me is direct insults and forceful, verbal intimidation. It usually doesn’t happen to me, but when I see others do it to another player (who usually is alone or doesn’t have much friends with him) it pushes my buttons and I have to say something. Anyway, let me shut up before I really start rambling.
Bottom line is respect your competition and treat others the way you would have them treat you. Sound familiar?

yea there is a difference in hype and thuggery… but alot of people will hype shit up by talking shit and saying some fucked up shit… idk if youve watched the way some marvel people talk to each other… did you watch smoothviper vs cable guy the first match… nuthing against erik… and its just when you have people saying you fucking suck dickquit playing the game you fuckin scrub… i think that would aggrivate someone to get up and sock em up… unless your going to ban the hype this will still occur cuz the kind of hype they use along with everyone else who attends say shit about their mom how much they suck… insulting each others hygene who they hang out with and such… cuz i have heard some hype that if i were in the situation i would get up and say something to the other guy… but nothing against your post inkblot im just stating what i think
