98% of Evo attendees are just looking for a great weekend of gaming, but there is a disturbing undercurrent of bad behavior coming from a few individuals who are looking to start trouble. After the finals I personally witnessed a shouting match that turned into a shoving match where GVR security was called to break it up. This bullshit behavior has no place in any Evo event. Parents take their KIDS to Evo people. It is our highest priority to provide a safe, fun environment for all Evo attendees.

Therefore, Evo now has a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for violence, threats of violence, intimidation, and other forms of thuggery. ANY threat of violence or extreme intimidation will result in an IMMEDIATE and LIFETIME ban for you and your whole crew. I don’t care if it’s on YouTube, the SRK forums, or at the event itself. I urge all past Evo attendees to get some perspective – Evo is a video game tournament. A VIDEO GAME TOURNAMENT. Fighting at a video game tournament? Please.

There is a difference between hype and thuggery, and we all know what that difference is.

We should all know that nothing is going to happen at evo that involves violence because people are gonna get in between whatever situation might occur. And if the situation your talking was in the later hrs ( 3am ish) that has nothing to do with the event its self.

Try reading what I actually said. I made NO suggestion. What I said was the only PLAUSIBLE thing I can see people doing is addressing issues as they happen… which from what I’ve read is what happened to begin with.

What you don’t get is that dealing with problemas after they occur its already too late. What if you have a meeting between 30 Holy War guys and the Pope? Would you have them all in the same room without any kind of search for weapons? Of course, if they kill the Pope, security can always take them out, so the Pope can’t be killed twice…

Anybody who has to trash talk to win at games either:

1. can’t back it up anyway
2. is immature to a point where they can’t really be called a man (or woman)
3. is just a young kid who hasn’t had his ass beat for running his mouth yet, yet

However, there’s a difference between annoying nonstop brainless trash talking and good-natured goading among friends. Please don’t do that to other groups or strangers.
