I'm voting for KOF2K2

Oh yeah and your so good. you couldn’t even beat justin wong in a game he dosen’t even play, good shit fucker. No I don’t know how much justin wong plays KoF,(I don’t know the guy) but seeing is how snk games are all you play, and you get 3rd out of seven people shows how good you are.

Ok, this makes alot more sense than answers post.

Actually Justin does play KOF I believe.

So you might want to edit that post and to name Justin Wong as somone he can’t beat is really lame considering Justin has proven to be one of the best 2D fighting game players in the U.S.A so the shame in losing to Justin Wong is little to none.

LOL nice try.

Wow it gets even better. 3rd out of probably 7 great players. Ya he must really suck LOL.

Stop being :lame:

Well he obviously plays, but probably not as much as other games. Look, I’m not trying to make assumptions about justin wong. I’m trying to make the answer look like an idiot.

don’t bite the hand that feeds you

fanboys to the max … go back to play shinobi … hahaha ! good one Answer ^___^

Poor guy, trying to make me look like an idiot your putting your self to shame, sorry. Since I think Im the bigger man here and I dont want to turn this into a flaming thread I will not address this guys post anymore.

Well lastnite we did some testing on the PS2 version of the game, and we came up with some clear and critical issues of the game. If you own the game I invite you to do this at home and tell us about your experience.

1st. Pick vanessa and take your opponent to the right corner, now very simple do a standing C foward A into her rushdown super. What the average of times that this combo? Ours was 1/20 :lame: My self and 2 other friends.

2nd. Pick Takuma take your opponent to the left corner and do this: down B down A foward B into rushdown super. Simple stuff, so try this and share with us.

id say the issue is just…done…no point in continuing this thread anymore…

Oscar, try using it with a P360, preferably one wired to a PSone pad, and tell me how it works. If it’s excellent then mine should work with no problems whatsoever.

My other concern is that it may lag, but considering how simple the input for a Neogeo is, I don’t think that will be a problem.

I tried it out on my PS2 and the combos seem to work fine. Timing seemed to be different but that might be just me. I don’t think your trying to use C for Takuma’s rushdown but if you are that won’t combo A will.

The only combo I can’t seem to get working on the PS2 version is Iori’s qcb C qcb C cancle into Maiden Masher or Rage of the 8 maidens whatever they call it now. I’ve tried using a PS1 controller, PS2 controller and my arcade stick and i’m about ready to pull my hair out.

The timing is vastly different. Doing it in PS2 and doing it in the standard arcade version are two completely different beasts, at least for the first combo.

I can’t get the moves to link with Takuma on the PS2. Works fine on arcade.

I can’t get that combo with Iori, either. I think it was taken out.

Ok guys Im sorry but after giving it a last try to the PS2 its no use. Its imposible to play at the PS2 version at a high competitive level.

Now I really need to chat with Mr Wizard so we can clear this up with time before evo. To see if this is going to happen or not.

Andres I dont know if you remember my stick but is the sameone I took to FL and it a 360. Remember how nice it was to play on the AES version on a tourney.

While I personally have no problem with the PS2/Xbox versions being used, I have a compromise.

Since A3 and VS are being considered on Xbox emulation (I presume that’s what Xbox-E stands for in the rules), is it all possible for KoF '02 to get the same treatment? This would alleviate the “not arcade perfect” whining AND have it on a system that’s readily available and a lot of folks have sticks/converters for. If you need copies of the game to prevent legal difficulties, I’m sure K-Force and all of the other folks here would be happy to bring theirs to help out.

Are there any problems with this scenario, Wiz?

well here are the things i found out in 2k2 (ps2 version)

while its an improvement over the DC version and their horrific lag inputs. PS2 vesion still suffers the same.

Ps2-

funky hitbox detection, the control input acts up also (getting vanessas uppercut when im entering qcfx2, wtf)

K has some stange hitbox detection as well, as does andy dan breaker. Basically when you do combos in the game sometimes it just doesnt regester all your imputs. which is strange…why couldnt they just leave the hitbox/input program they used in 98?? well anyways sorry for rambling.

so where can i get an aes to ps2 converter anyways. i think the main problem is the sticks or the some people might not be used to the neo geo pad or the ABCD format. but having a converter solves all that doesnt it?? so i think aes should be recommended cause your goingto get allot of shitty matches on ps2. someone seriouslly needs to talk to snk about their shitty ports.

You can get a PS2 to AES adapter here.

What buttons does ABCD map to on the PS2 controller with the adapter?

i’m voting for KOF '02. i’ll probably be at evo this year and just enter some of the tourneys to waste my money.

Well I haven’t tried it, but most likely ABCD will map to Square, Circle, X and Triangle.

It’s not the 4 across layout, but it is still a standard Neo layout on some Japanese cabs I’ve played on, it’s set up like this:

C D
A B

I’m actually more comfortable with that than the ABCD.

I looked on the site that sells the adapter and supposedly it’s ABCD = X, Square, Triangle, and Circle and if that’s the case I don’t think people will be happy with that. Funny thing is I did know a guy that played like that on a ps1 pad for KOF '97.

You can always go to button config and change that.

edit- nevermind, 2k2 doesn’t have a button config on Neo Geo.

Well it seem that everybody has realize that the PS2 version its not for a WORLD TOURNEY, except for the person that matters the most.

Im willing doneta my help and time if its require to run the tourney on AES. I host monthly tourney down here so I feel that I might be able to help a little running an AES tourney. I just want to make this tourney the best that the US has ever seen for KOF, and Im happy to see theres is more people willing to help to bring converters and stuff
