I don’t think they will switch to AES even if you got 20 systems.
It’s not MvC2 so it seems it is’nt even worth there time.
I agree 100% though, the AES would be the smart way to go. It’s 100% arcade perfect and is the only way you could see who the best KOF player is in North America.
People complained about MvC2 on XBox but I could write a page of large problems for KOF on PS2 and i’m sure there’s alot more.

Well if you compare the DRAMA from MVC2 and how they change the system just cause of a few gliches, no major issues like timing and recoveries its kind of ridiculous cause at the end they are going to end up using the same 6 characters wich are the same in all versions.
In the other hand KOF has issues with timing, rcoveries, command reading issues, and atleast 28 of the characters need to be at their true potential.
But again its not MVC2 so who cares.

An alternative for PS2 sticks to be plugged into the Neogeo does exist! Just check this out and equip yourself. You should SERIOUSLY consider the AES now that people will be able to provide their own controllers because of these adapters.

Im guessing 5-6 setups will do in 2 days I have 4 mas sticks, now if only we could get 6 adapters.

I respect you guys for your dedication to a game that doesn’t get the respect it probably deserves, but you gotta be more realistic. Marvel and #Reload had 70+ people at Texas Showdown, KOF had 9? And putting it on a system that the rest of us don’t have sticks for is really questionable.
Please stop trying to get it switched to AES before it gets removed from the bill completely.
If the people wants to know whos the best N.America player at EVO, then besides holding the tournament on AES, there should be an arcade stand/cabinet like the ones in Family Fun , camelot or Sunnyvale GL for the ones that want the 100% arcade “experience and feel” you know what I mean ? … Im gonna have one ready for EVO 2005 btw 
Mr Wizard should make an OFFICIAL POLL to decide which game should be also in EVO … it will be only one of many factors.
You can get an adapter PS2 -> AES so if you’re talking about not having sticks for AES, then that is hardly a problem.
I suggest the people who OWN Neos check out the adapters and get a pair and test them on their Neos to see if they work properly, and find out the extent of controller brands / PCBs that will work correctly with them. Since they even support the analog thumbstick, the adapters MUST be supplying the 5V that the Neo usually supplies to its controllers. That way you already have that option, and you can even just set the AES systems up with the default Evolution sticks if there’s nothing else for people to play with.
This, of course, if it gets changed. Even then, it’d be a good investigation. I don’t own a Neo so I can’t test this myself. I’m thinking of buying one soon though… so beware.

If you really want to put it on AES, then you just need to tell Evo staff that you’ll be running the real tournament and to forget about running it on PS2. There aren’t nearly enough KOF2K2 people to make them admit they are wrong.
If I knew that there was going to be an AES tournament with converters so I could use my stick, I would enter that instead of a PS2 tournament run by Evo staff.
An unofficial tournament though means that it might be run at the same time as another in which one of the participants is playing in.

Andres I have already order one of those converters. I’ll do some testing and I’ll let you know how it go so you can get one for your self.
MrWizard needs to reinput his statement here. Even though he’s already stated “it’s PS2 or nothing” he may do a reconsider. His opinion on this now after all these new posts would be appreciated.
