"I'm No Ordinary Civy" Jill Combo / Strategy / Tech Thread Revamp

Could I ask for your seventy-five cents on Arrow Kick assist? I’ve always seen it as kind of a risky maneuver.

Arrow kick assist is perhaps her best assist.

The hitbox on the move itself is pretty large, and combined with it’s startup it makes a great mid range hitconfirm. It’s also your pretty good combo extender since it follows Point Jill’s own Wallbounce rules.

The true strength comes from the huge amount of horizontal space it takes up, which makes it ideal for 50/50 mixups.

From c.M, s.H, b.H, I was able to get [S]716,700k[/S] 693,700K but I’m not sure if that’s the starter you were looking for. With a bit of modification of the starter, c.M, c.H, b.H to this combo does 691,200k . Close enough, lol. This combo requires Strider though.

Starter 1 (c.M, s.H, b.H) or Starter 2 (c.M, c.H, b.H) > feral > somersault > roundhouse > feral cancel > feral dash > feral > somersault > j.H, j.S > s.H + strider, b.H, s.S > (strider hits) > TK cartwheel > somersault > MGS

BTW, Paulow’s combo with a slight modification that starts from a raw somersault :

somersault > somersault > roundhouse > feral dash > somersault > j.H, j.S > s.H + Strider, b.H, s.S > (Strider hits) TK cartwheel > somersault > MGS does 743,400 midscreen. Something to try out :slight_smile:

I lied. Adding a 2nd somersault to Starter 1 does 716,700k. It is slightly harder to pull off though because you literally have to be right next to the guy :

c.M, s.H, b.H > somersault > somersault > roundhouse > feral dash > somersault > j.H, j.S > s.H + Strider, b.H, s.S > (Strider hits) TK cartwheel > somersault > MGS

I forgot to mention that you don’t have to wait for Strider to hit for the TK cartwheel. It’s almost one motion from the S to the TK cartwheel with little delay.

Is there some kind of trick to canceling summersalt into feral crouch? I can cancel everything else just fine, except that move! I know I’m inputting the buttons correctly because I turned on imputs in training mode. Please help!

Somersault takes you off the ground after a certain point, so you won’t be able to cancel it too late. You probably won’t be able to stance-cancel it after the hit comes out unless it actually hits or is blocked since the hit lag will stop time long enough to make it easy.

Oh man, Thanks, that helped a lot. I was feeling so inept! Anyways your explanation helped a lot, I just mashed the cancel as fast as I could before jill got airborn and got it first try. Now, back to the training room to get it consistant! Thanks again!

No problem at all. Keep trying and you’ll consistently cancel it as late as possible no problem. I like to go by the audio cues so she either stutters when it hits, or hisses like a snake if it misses.

Also kind of weird to note that Arrow Kick and Jumping Roundhouse both visually get airborne yet are still stance-cancel-able all throughout.

Yeah, that was why I was getting so frustrated because her other moves cancel out of the air, but not her summersalt, lol. I guess I should have gotten clues by when watching(503) 695-3277 her Combo vids. There was also match footage on YouTube of this guy playing Jill (I think it was something like Paulo? ). Anywho after winning the match he did a celebration dance with Jill that consisted of three or four summersalts cancels in a row. It was so cool that I had to try Jill, lol.

Feral Somersault whiffs are integral. Learn to incorporate them into your gameplay.

On that note, Remember; You could strengthen the Double Cartwheel Mixup by Cart–>22S–> S/22S To get OUT OF FC–> Call assist–> Cart.

Works great with many assists that cover front and back tech.

I’ve been playing with cartwheel mix-ups a lot, trying to save on meter. It’s so much fun and incredibly effective in the corner. Still trying to work out that command grab as part of the plan. That’s gonna be mean.

Yeah, I got a chance to play today and was messing around with them with Different teams.

Adding the command grab+ Assist (like BoB) in is extremely tricky and hard to block. Love it.
