Good luck with whatever you’re doing, I’ll be busy too, so I don’t have much time to explore any of this. I’ll still try to come up with stuff though. In any case, there’s still a lot of good information in that post that might have been forgotten, so it’s a good refresher.
That being said, I still want to see how you would use things like Mad Beast, and XF3 in the event that she’s put into that position. A bit of specific things like how you used specific teams, or certain assists to get in or something like that; things that could probably be taken care of in a PM.
Related : How would you impede ground bounce w/ Vajra? It’s like somehow two spikes into the ground will let you have a third one?
I’ll be writing you something soon, because I feel I need some fresh eyes on how to approach my opponents.
Also, thanks for the guide and all the help! This is awesome stuff that I need to think more about.
So about this, if anyone was wondering, to get this consistent, this is what you do:
anything > roundhouse > feral > dash > s.H as soon as you’re out of dash > (wait to you hear her “HAH!”, or see the P1 on the bottom of the screen move) > arrow kick. It will hit the back of the hitbox EVERY TIME. It works on every sized character too, except maybe Sentinel. I think you have to do it early on him.
I think now that SRK has its button emotes back, I’d like to take some time later to update and edit the original post back to having pretty colorful pictures for the notation.
I’d also like to publicly thank Lamuness for helping me get back into the game after too much time away.
Using the same modified Paulo combo I posted earlier, you can almost break 700,000k with Raven Spike (699,200k)…
Still not a practical combo since you probably aren’t going to land a Heavy Double Knee Drop in the corner in a real match but just experimenting on getting more damage with Jill. When I get back in town, I’ll experiment more with it. I have an idea on getting to 700,000k solo with Raven Spike… dood!
I can now proudly say that I think my point jill, dante, and magnus are tournament ready. I began playing vs some very good hazmat players, and dragoomba taught me, he got top 38 at evo. Ill be going to the house of crack a lot once HoC starts back up. Time to level up!¡
Hopefully I won’t be completely annihilated by the good players >< lol. I probably will but its a matter of learning. Anyone wanna body me on xbl tomorrow?
Also you guys can join the umvc3 skype chat room. Its not too big aand we do a lot of private lobbies and discuss tech
I would love to see you on HoC
Also, does anyone here know how to or if you can even title spoilers now? Without them, the original post is looking even uglier than it should be. The abnormally large joystick emotes are ruining the formatting badly enough as it is. I miss the arrow pictures.
Added a combo exhibition from nicovideo to preface the combo section at Lamuness’ suggestion.
I apologize for not having updated the second or third posts, but not being able to title the spoilers really bothers me.
So I’ve been messing with Madbeast, and here’s what little I’ve found, still pretty interesting, probably common knowledge.
I have yet to try it in a real match, mainly because I can never build enough meter for it; I’m usually using MGS, THC, or DHC’ing out.
In any case, most of my resets are pretty solid, they’re ambiguous enough to skew the 50/50 into my favor. However, I need to test this on if a person mashes assist, what happens. (What are the common assists that people mash while they’re rolling?)
If you do any combo into c.H > arrow kick + Strider > mad beast, if you happen to get the hit off, you can do 800k+ dmg. Crossing up and hitting s.H -> flip loops you can do a total of 24 hits before you have to Raven Spike. Pretty good if you ask me. It’s the most consistent way for me to hit fliploops
Now on to movement. If you do dash up -> down forward or down back, you end up slightly above ground and you can overhead. However, if you do upforward -> downforward / down, you’ll end up on the ground. Something to play around with.
i think it is. 4 bars with xfactor 1v1 (activate, mgs, xf in mid-air, dash, etc, win) is almost as good as vergil. But not as good as vergil since he has bonafide setups for a 1v3 comeback. But i feel like in that situation against most of the cast, she’s as good as strider since they both put the enemy in instant block stun and setups.
In the off chance you somehow find yourself sitting on four bars with Jill in the way back and X-Factor still on hand, that sounds like a great tactic, but unfortunately not one you get to employ often.
While I would like to agree with this, X factor mad beast is very easy to screw up. Part of the reason that spiral swords is so powerful on incoming is that vergil has a homing teleport and the swords force people to block (not to mention his retarded normals). Mad beast still has flaws to it, like you can’t block high and doesn’t change anything about Jill’s priority.
Maybe I’m wrong here, but I think it would be better to save the meter. If you really want to blow meter like that to get a free mixup you have many more options. Some slow assists like spit fire and sent drones can be called at the same time as MGS forcing your opponent to block the assist (depending on the assist it may even land you a hit confirm if MGS connects ). THC are also great for jill depending on your other characters. While Jill’s THCs are generally used for punishes or escapes they can also be used as a meter expensive mixup. For example with strider second Legion makes a great cover for mixing up your opponent.
Personally I would love to see footage of mad beast being used as a neutral game super. Sadly I can count the times on my hand that I have ever seen a Jill player use it. Apart from a few mad beast setups NSR has mentioned and the Mad beast chip loop it appears mad beast is really just for swag purposes after you have already won the game.
I agree with this. I’d rather MGS 4 times than use Madbeast that I could probably mess up. Although I still have a feeling it’s very strong and unexplored, but I can never build enough meter to use it. Either Jill dies or I spend the meter to DHC / THC.
i mean If u really wanna make mad beast viable you can try and do the strategy that i learned. Reset the point character,Infinite the second, and do Mad Beast+X-Factor 1the last. I mean Mad Beast and X-Factor 1 lets you do 1.2Mil while building back 2 bars soo like if u wanna get rid of thor u can.Just make sure ur consistent with ur mad beast loops and best of luck
