I don’t know how I never noticed this, but Jill’s feral dash 7 gets a really weird distance booster that dash 9 doesn’t have. Makes resetting against forward ground techs much more fun.
Sorry, I’m bored and new SRK is really stagnant and ugly and completely ruined the three original posts.
Hey, I’m pretty short and overweight. I don’t have a job, nor do I have a particular skill set. I have very crude mannerisms in the bedroom, which is, of course, right next to my parents room. So I was wondering…
If someone here would be my valentine?!?!?!??
Sorry, I know it was corny. Couldn’t resist. In b4 Jill forums make their own jokes
UPDATED POSTS TO BE MOSTLY COMPATIBLE WITH THE NEW FORUM
I used to have the damage and meter values in the spoiler title, but they don’t show up for some reason. I still have them written down, so I’ll fix that later. Until then, the original posts have working YouTube videos and a slightly less ugly notation until we finally get the notation emotes back.
Everyone can now cease perpetuating the old thread for no reason.
YO confirmed! Okay try this. Go in training mode, set dummy all block and all advancing guard. Hit him with H. Pushes you almost full visible screen away. Now try to time it so that you feral crouch as soon as you start getting pushed away (NOT right at the pushblock) U’ll either go much shorter a distance, or if timed perfectly, you won’t move nearly at all. I think this is worth some looking into
Honestly, you should be using FC, likely with an assist, to close off a blockstring anyway to dash back in and get some mix-ups going. I’m kind of disappointed that you haven’t been doing that already.
I have, but I didn’t know that timing it correctly would actually negate pushblock.
[Edit] Im not saying that dashing back in negates pushblock, im saying using feral crouch in the first place does.
As much as I want to believe you, I won’t until I see a video of it happening. Moves that carry movement after the hit like cM and Arrow Kick I understand, though, and the corner further minimizes pushblock distance, allowing you to still get the cross-up after the pushblock. I think you might be confused by these factors.
Im assuming Dood’s hit confirm combo isnt possible anywhere on screen…it looks like you need to be relatively close to the corner…or am I wrong? Id love to optimize my damage output
Well it’s right there on video; it’s possible. It’s just a very specific spot that’s kind of impractical in a real match, I think.
Also, if one could somehow consistently nail the faux wallbounce on Arrow Kick by hitting with the tail-end of the hitbox to follow through with Arrow Kick’s travel, then it’s possible pretty much anywhere.
Hmm…thanks. Curious, but what combo would you suggest going into if the opponent gets hit by cold star in the middle of a jump? Like…half normal jump height / just a bit off the ground. It happened to me a few times, and I just went for her AA somersault combo, but it dropped at the link to roundhouse…im assuming because of HSD, but maybe I just was timing it wrong. I know I can do that combo a good 9/10 times normally. Same question applies to if you catch someone with jam session / doom beam. Both knock the opponent in the air at the end, so im curious what I would use optimally to continue the combo.
Also, the timing on flip kick loops are so…weird. It just doesnt feel like anything else ive had to do really. I didnt put a LOT of time into it today, but I still havent been able to get 3 flip kicks > somersault. I can do flip kick x2 > somersault, but I can never get that third =/ actually waiting for her to feral dash then cancel that with the flip kick is so awkward to me for some reason.
oh, also, an alternative to the flip kick loops, is this:
confirm > flip kick > sweep > flip kick > somersault > roundhouse > FC dash forward > somersault > cartwheel > somersault xx MGS. Depending on your confirm, it does between 620K-660K and is considerably easier for anyone that hasnt learned the flip kick loops. Just saying.
I usually just go for regular jMMHS jump loops and try to set them up into the corner or get in as many hits as possible without spending meter unless I know it will kill them. Those assists scale really hard.
The AA Somersault combo is one of my favorites, but it barely works as it is because of HSD. There are very few other confirms that will lead into it.
You don’t need a weaker alternative to Flip Kick loops, you just have to learn them. You’re the one who’s always saying you want optimized damage.
I don’t think I’ve ever had a time where I needed to do flip kick loops. I should start experimenting with that, maybe it will increase my overall damage output. Most of the time I’m going for some sort of reset anyway, or I’d do Dood’s combo because I’ve hit them w/ a raw somersault. Where do you guys find flip kick loops useful? Even HBDs you can do a regular wallbounce combo.
I DO want optimal damage…I was just posting that up to try and contribute a little something for anyone who may be lurking or may be thinking of picking her up to use in the mean time. I can do all of her optimal solo combos except the flip kick loops so far. I know its just a matter of practice. It just feels weird to me lol…like…having to delay the input of the second and third flip kicks so that she actually cancels her dash into the flip is what is throwing me off. sometimes I get it, but more often than not she either does the flip kick too early and hits them high, or she dashes and I cancel into the flip kick, but the flip kick comes out JUST a little too late and they fall out. Meh. Just gotta hit that lab I guess lol
Also just wanted to say that I love Jills reset options. 1.1M off an AA somersault to ambiguous reset for one bar, no assist? sign me up. and im not even getting 100% damage out of her MGS. I could probably squeeze another 50K in there by waiting just a tad longer.
Okay, I kind of have reasoning as to why feral crouch actually negates pushblock. It’s the same reason fly and devil trigger, or any kind of hyper that puts you into a different state.
Try this, play morrigan, magneto, anybody with fly, and set the dummy to all pushblock. Hit them with anything, and as soon as you are about to get pushed away (not as they get push blocked) immediately press fly.
If you are fast enough, and with good timing, the same thing can be done with feral crouch! Allowing some cheap mixups while they are still in blockstun. (And possibly leading to a guard break setup?) I’ll look more into it. This is the same reason vergil has a cheap guardbreak.
It would be cool to be able to guard break with jill if she could actually convert without using meter, but unfortunately she cant unless you go for position change…but thats situational as to whether they are grounded or not =/
