It sucks even harder when you have strong mapped to the L trigger on an Xbox 360 standard controller. Good luck consistently doing xup short s.strong f+strong on that one.
Didn’t even know there was a Blanka Thread, most of these blankas other than decoys and little cow power I have never played. Decoys blanka is legit but loses to good people like Valle, Afro and Mongolorobocop too consistently but I can say your Blanka is better than DSPs. Mr Quotes looked pretty good in that ECT match but blanka v blanka is an annoying match. Hope to see some of you guys in a player match sometime.

so like I just discovered that xup short f+mp xx electricity combos consistently and dizzies more often than not. too bad it doesn’t have the same hit confirming/mixup potential as neutral close strong
yea i had never played vs such a solid style blanka before. he reminded me of myself but much better. im use to the crazy mixup trick blankas like papichao and etc. but he got me good.

Sup man, just wanted to point out that I don’t play Valle, Afro or Mongolorobocop very often if at all. So I’m not sure where you got that info. Of those 3 I’ve only played Valle most recently and that was like over 1 1/2 months ago. :wonder:

And decoy I know you don’t play them that often I don’t too often unless I am at tournaments or random player matches. But i have seen you guys play each other more than just a handful of times and you got a good blanka but I think yours is better in HF than HD or ST
Don’t mind me man. Sometimes I let me ego do the talking lol. I think we all take pride in our characters and we like to think we KNOW them inside and out. But, the facts are that some of us are better than others when using them. For example, I really like Empirion’s Blanka alot. He plays a solid game and his links and combos are always on point. Khem’s Blanka from what I remember was played with complete knowledge of every matchup. To me that’s tops. Even played another Blanka called Grey Blanka or something like that the other night. Learned a few things from him.

What is the key to the T-Hawk matchup?
Good Hawks seem to be able to get in close sooner or later, and if you’ve been backing up at all your in the corner. Everything I’ve seen puts this matchup heavily in Blanka’s favor, right along with Geif, but in my experience its not even in the same ballpark. I know I’m missing something here.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Against T-hawks all I do is j. lk alot and shock often to make him want to sweep you which makes it easier to to a ball or jump in and combo. You gotta make sure you never miss combos if you jump in though cuz you know most T-hawk players are just spinning the joystick trying to get a grab in
What are some good answers against Honda’s HHS? The only move I fall back on is j.lk, which tends to get caught by headbutt at that range.

I dont really recall but wasnt it stated before that because blanka only has one throw button it makes it harder to reversal throw (ie you could only reversal throw with FP)? Cause this cant be true, I was just playing a bison who tried to walk up tick throw me and i hit MK and got a tech

so yes, it’s harder. good thing blanka is tied with dhalsim for the longest normal throw range in the game.
