Are there well known players using Wesker? The only ones I know of using him are Neo and Andre Lambert (Twisted Jago)

I just use Wesker for battery, that’s why I never, ever use Maximum Wesker.

The reason why people don’t use Phantom Dance (aka Maximum Wesker) is because it does crap damage if it’s not the middle of the screen. HOWEVER, in the middle of the screen, it does excellent damage. Therefore if you setup Phantom Dance, it’s actually a great use of 1 meter.

Coming out of the DHC trick, theoretically you can setup a wall bounce combo > (switch sides) launcher > air combo > Phantom Dance. It can be done, but I’m not sure if the positioning always turns out the same. If you setup the wall bounce on the farthest most wall, it’ll hit full damage for sure.

edit: damage came out to be 933k. Excellent use of 3 meters!

about the earlier projectile spamming thing w/ Magneto, at fullscreen, you projectile counter one, block 2nd, then projectile counter and it’ll hit. If you know they’re going to keep doing it, you block the first one, then counter.

the detrimantix teleport setups/gimmicks i saw was he would either super jump up L teleport then L teleport again and while falling near opponents head he would hit S for a crossup.

the other one i saw was he would call sent drones L teleport crossup to the other side of the opponent then before the drones hit L teleport again. sometimes he would delay the 2nd L teleport to keep them guessing or be too far to crossup on the first L teleport and go for a low atk.

i only watched him briefly, but that’s what i saw during the games i saw him play.

Wesker just makes you feel like a badass. :slight_smile:

BTW I just found this out and a few people may know already but Wesker’s command grab has a strange property where it can actually be tech thrown.

I’m confused. Do you mean tick thrown or throw teched?

I ask because last night, after seeing this post, I went into training mode for an hour trying to see if Magneto can escape the MUSTANG KICK. He couldn’t. BUT, I can throw on the first frame after block stun.

I just found a neat little trick with Wesker + Tron, personally I don’t think you should do it in a serious fight, its mainly just for shits and giggles.

Requirements: Wesker and Tron in that order, plus 4 hyper bars.

  • Spacing between Wesker and opponent should be about one back dash away from his opponent.
  • Empty regular jump and do Phantom Dance when Wesker reaches highest possible height of his jump.
  • If you pay attention to Wesker’s very first trajectory , he should move directly above his opponents head, and that is the moment you should be looking into. (I tested with Ryu and Dormammu).
  • DHC into Tron’s lvl 3. Now this step is all about TIMING, do it to early and Tron will be out of range, do it to late and Wesker will hit his opponent or hit a blocking opponent, which will make Tron’s lvl 3 whiff.

Depending on your timing Tron might end right in front of his opponent or even behind!

Like I said at first, I believe this is just a little silly thing you can have fun with and not really meant to be used for your strategy. I haven’t even tested thoroughly with different characters or different distances.

Don’t know if its overlooked, but a guessing game you can do is after you land a kill, use Wesker’s dash to swoop in under the opponent as he’s jumping into the screen. It’s usually so quick that people don’t expect it.

Almost certain he means his Mustang Kick can be teched. I came across this last night when trying to find counters for Taskmaster :f::h: spam and when I’d try to interrupt it with a Mustang Kick, it would just get auto-teched by my recording.

I was in training last night as I’m trying to find a new point for _____ Ammy tron, and think Wesker would be f’n amazing in the role. And I love to be tricky, etc. but as a result of my messing around, I have 3 quick questions, sorry if they’re kinda noobish:

  1. After QCF+M, Wesker can teleport off it. but for soe reason, this wasn’t coming out for me. Like, often enough to ask about it. Is the timing very strict or something? Seems like it should be easy, and half the time it is, but if I can’t count on that in combat, I feel like “what is the point?” Is there soemthing I should know regarding this?

  2. Anyone play a Wesker team with Tron on it? If so, any cute setups I should know? As great as her assist is, it doesnt seem quite as good as others for extending off a df+H gunshot. Ditto Ammy Cold Star, but figure it was more likely that stock Tron assist tricks existed than Ammy.

  3. Is there a nice compiled list of “tricks and traps wesker player should know?” I’m gonna read this thread and some others, which may give me all im looking for, but if you know of an established reference somewhere for cheap dirty tricks, please direct me to it.

Hey Wesker players - just an FYI - if you’re gonna kill somebody with a THC after the gunshot and you don’t want to waste 3 bars, call whatever your other assist is before the 2nd shot and that character won’t be included in the THC. Not useful every time, as a lot of people use both assists in the combo but something to know, especially if you have a sent on your team because that’s for SURE not going into the wesker combos.

NOTE i did not read even a word of this thread, it might already be out there, but i don’t see people doing it when all most players really want is just to get 100k extra damage haha

I’ve actually tried this multiple times, and it’s never worked once for me. The THC doesn’t even activate. Must be hitting it at the wrong point?

i haven’t re-tested since i thought i did it - maybe i was mistaken i’ll take a look later.

Yeah it was something one of my friends told me that Flash Metroid apparently told them but I kinda doubt it now too.

yeah i had this problem at first. i seem to find that m and c teleport options have a much larger window to input them so you may want to use c to land above, air c c.m c.h s. failing learning the teleport forward timing perfectlly, you can always learn to dash forwards, cr.m ect. seems very hard at first, but if you get the feel when the move has finished, it’s just one full dash into attack to get it. you also get to time it really late, so much that you can see if they hit the corner and are near enough to just hit them or do a half dash.

Also everyone saying you can tech mustang kick, i think it’s just when you accidently get a reg throw instead of mustang because inputs not finishing. if it techs a b mustang kick then fair enough.

Are there any definitive teams for Wesker on point? I have seen a lot of variations but Im just looking for one or two teams that are agreed upon as being the best Wesker-centric teams.

I like Taskmaster H.shot as a secondary and my previous teams always had doom as third because of H. Missiles, but I would like something different than Doom that still works with Wesker, simply because I hate relying on Missiles to get me out of trouble.
