It is an enormous nerf.
Looks like her c.mp got a huge whack with the nerf bat. Seriously Capcom WTF? You take away our only viable reversal option by removing all invincibility frames from U2 AND you nerf her single best normal?
Great, they made standing mk have no hittable box under her feet…yeah because that makes up for fucking up her c.mp…fuck you Capcom…fuck you very much…
be careful with those screenshot, the scale are not identical !
for cmp, her hitable box seems a litlle bigger, that all ( if we look at the spark, it really seems the same ?)
for fmk, its the opposite, if we look at the model it seems that its a big nerf, but at the same scale, the hit box are the same!, but if we look at her leg, they seems more long in ae, maybe it’s the mesh that changed ?)
less range on st.mk -___- sighhh
What the hell is wrong with these Capcom guys?
Yes, the scale is not identical but anyone can see that we just lost a LOT of range with c.mp. Look at the green boxes and look how far the red hit box extends from the green line in SSF4 and look how far they pushed it back in AE…that’s a shit ton of range we just lost on our only real “go to” move.
Standing MK range is the same and they moved the hit box down a little to make it easier to hit and immune to low attacks, this is a genuine buff. However it does not in any way make up for them fucking up c.mp and U2…not by a long shot.
Err no, they just shortened the range on S MK, she doesnt hit with the tip anymore. Her hurtbox is also shortened though, but she does lose range.
With C MP she has the same range, but a biiger hurtbox.
Thats two nerfs on her best normals.
Also looking at the nerf from her c.mp range. I doubt combos like cross up j.mk, c.lp, c.lp, c.lk, c.mp, ex spiral will work any more. The c.mp will probably whiff now.
LOL. I was looking at the green outline box and didn’t even notice that I was so pissed about c.mp. WOW, so I retract my previous statement about it. And extend a big FUCK YOU to capcom’s game balance team…epic fail.
I’m really worried about this. But judging from the photos it seems like they haven’t nerfed c.mp range-wise. I think they expanded the green hitbox so it’s gonna be easier to counter poke c.mp now. Argh, I hate AE.
EDIT: Okay, I just noticed when I tried to compare the photos in photoshop after resizing them that they are not taken on the exact same frame. Just look at Rose’s face-profile in the AE edition, and how it differs from her 3/4 profile in the Super shot. But, I don’t know if her hitbox changes that much from frame to frame so it’s still all very blurry to me.
c.mp clearly lost range dude, look at it.

It’s not so clear since the screenshots aren’t taken at the exact same frame. The move is nerfed - range wise or hurtbox wise? Don’t know.
Cr.Mp seems like it lost vertical range and horizontal range (though not a huge amout, it really should not have lost anything) and the hurtbox got a little bigger. St.Mk has shorter range do to the hitbox moving back from her toes to her ankle(this already had less range then cr.mp). Those are some pretty shitty nerfs and not a buff to FA or Far.Hp insight SMH @ capcom on the development of Rose.
As for the comment about the combos not working on cross up Arturo put some matches of a Rose player up playing AE that showed that they still work. (do they wrok on the whole cast is still a mystery as they were shaky in super).
The extended red hit box hasn’t changed radically. It’s the green hit box that has been brought forward - that’s why it gives you the illusion that the red hit box got brought backwards. The major change here is the hurt box, and she may have lost a tiny bit of range ( but that is still very unclear).

As some have already pointed out, it looks like they extended her hittable box for her c.mp, while reducing the hitbox on her st.mk. My question is, why did they do that? Maybe they didn’t want her to be used as too much of a poking character?
