I’m usually a Projectile Keepaway / Close Range Poke-Punish player; I don’t typically throw out a lot of block strings or do a ton of big combos off of hit confirms. Usually I know two short combos and one bigger combo for meter games and then try to control the distance with footsies. When I play a char without projectile, I still try to control distance and poke until they mess up, it’s just a little trickier.

I know I’m not the greatest at any of my strats, but I do love playing this way. I’m a pretty casual player, although I like to think I do better than scrub.

I am an offensive turtle.

I spend a fair amount of time blocking, but I will move forward/attack when it is nessessary/reasonably safe. I pick characters with good/safe normals (as having good pokes is essential for OT’s), especially those who have normals that move them forward. Charge characters tend to fit this style best. Ex: Charlie in SFA3, Chun in ST.

The only exception is with vs. games, where i prefer rush-down characters.

Pretty much the same for me, though (I don’t play vs) Though I prefer grappler characters than charge one most of the time.

I tend to like exotic and unusual stuff. I’m tend to cater more into female characters, just 'cause they’re more fresh overall. I only play with a male one… if the character have something really unique or weird to appeal me.

I prefer characters with easier execution and stuff, mostly because I like more to focus on mindgames/mixtups and stuff. I like to poke too, so overall the characters I choose tend to be not only simple to pick, but also effective at chipping people down.

@Brennan We’re practically on the same page. I would’ve played Tao or Litchi in BB, but I didn’t like the execution : reward ratio for those two. Then there’s playing girl characters. Smash in general, Link in SC2, Fuerte, Dee-Jay, and Wesker are my exceptions.

I enjoy good rushdown characters but I tend to die much more frequently… hence when I’m playing to win it’s really playing to not lose, and turtling.
