I was actually surprised with EVA being so high…

Typical list thread:

1). Generic styled top 10/20/50/100 of all time list is posted from a website/magazine.
2). People rage at why insert game/movie/animation/whatever is no.1.
3). People rage at why their favorite insert game/movie/animation/whatever is low or how it should be higher on the list.
4). People argue with each other at the appeal of insert/game/movie/animation/whatever.
5). People unpredictably declare the list is bullshit.
5). Thread goes for more than 5 pages with the previous 4 steps ad nauseum.

In the end, nobody’s ever satisfied because it’s not their opinion. Makes me wonder the point in sites like IGN doing stuff like this when they know it won’t work.

At least the lists from an obscure and not-so generic topics fare better; such as the top 10 edited movies posted a while back or the top 10 badass soldiers.

And Simpsons, despite the fact that it isn’t in its prime anymore, was the greatest sitcom, arguably the greatest show in TV history. The fact that people question why it’s on the list confuses me.

ReBoot rocked ass. One of my biggest regrets is never seeing the end of that series. I can still remember the last episode I saw, too - MegaByte had tricked Bob and sent him into the Web, and Enzo had become the new Guardian. He then promptly got his ass kicked in - ironically enough - a fighting game, and the episode ended with The User winning and Dot getting all emo.

Looking back with the knowledge I now have concerning the predictability of cartoons, there is no fucking way Enzo died in that episode.

Waitatic, hold up…you mean to tell me you’ve never seen S3 of Reboot? Holy crap! Get thee to a torrent site, immediately! S3 is not only the best season of Reboot, its one of the best things ever.

Now some random comments on the rest of the list…

Scooby Doo…what the fuck. Every single episode was the same. This must have made the list on nostalgia alone.

Same goes for Thundercats. I love me some classic toons, but I can’t watch Thundercats now without being bored to tears. It doesn’t really hold up to the test of time.

Daria should have been up there.

The Simpsons, no matter what you think of the later seasons, should be #1. Yeah, there have been crap seasons/episodes but you have to remember everything it did first/right. Like if we were doing this for sitcoms, and you put Married…With Children in the top 10 (where it should be) and someone complained about MWC’s missteps, of which there were plenty - but what it did right was legendary. Same for the Simpsons.

And on the NGE vs Bebop thing, there’s a lot of NGE hate here but NGE is an amazing series. I think it deserves its placement.

I think its a complete disgrace that Tex Avery’s Cartoons (THE GOD OF CARTOONS) was not on that list!!

Every cartoon maker owes their asses to Tex Avery, his MGM cartoons should of been #1 on that list!!

I honestly have a problem with The Simpsons being number one, especially over Looney Toons. And a lot of the placements on this list, but thanks for the poster on the first page that made a list of it. I tried to read the complete list a few days ago but fuck that one entry per page shit.

Speak on that. This show had a solid body count over a couple episodes. I don’t think I will ever forget the one episode they literally had a family get massacred by a revive barbarian in the woods. They didn’t show the bodies but the show kept it much real, when it came to people dying.
