I whole-heartedly agree. It’s nice they give ups to anime, but with things like Rocko, Daria, Doug, Bravestarr, Garfield and Friends, etc getting the axe and the general WTF placement of a great deal of things, a top 25/50 of American Cartoons and a top 25/50 of Annie-May would be a better idea.
Also, no FLCL, Big O, or GitS makes me a sad panda. Also, Bebop < Eva is some ol’ bullshit, and I like Evangelion.
Spongebob is above Animaniacs? In what world does that make sense?
Also, while the 2003 Clone Wars series has a well-deserved spot, the 2008 version shouldn’t be on here. I watched five episodes of that show out of loyalty to the brand and it is utter balls.
I don’t agree with a lot of things, but I am glad Spectacular Spider-Man ranked so high (#30). The show really is that good. Check the eps out on YouTube if you don’t believe me.
I wasnt too upset until I saw that Naruto not only outranked DBZ
but alot of other incredible shows like Tiny Toons, Talespin, fucking Thundercats??
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles??? Tom and Jerry?? I can’t believe that show outranked some of the classics.
EDIT EDIT EDIT
I didnt see Sailor Moon on the list
which is very surprising, some of the shows that will be left unnamed do not deserve a spot in the top 10, I like majority of the top 10 shows though, I’m glad Simpsons got #1.
Every time these lists pop up Garfield is always missing.
BTW even though I was sure it wouldnt make the list
Pepper Ann should have been up there.
These things don’t usually piss me off
but come on now, Tom and Jerry ranking so low breaks my heart
It should have placed in the top 20 atleast, the humor was topnotch
Don’t get me wrong Beavis and Butthead made me laugh my ass off but the events in Tom and Jerry are enough to make people piss themselves and have stomach aches for days. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was a fine reason to be a kid in the late 80’s early 90’s , Dragonball Z took the world by storm and has a special place in american pop culture, are they not familiar with the Pokemon craze??? I can’t stand Pokemon but it shouldnt be at #70.
I mention Garfield in my other post what is up with that??
and Sailor Moon is one of the reasons anime is so popular in the states
there is no reason for it not to be on the damn list.
Fucking Beavis and Butthead at #5 and even on the list. Ridiculous. After I saw that, I knew the list was gonna have far better cartoons scattered about coming in at a absurd number or not even mentioned.
I agree mostly… but honestly, Thundercats has no business being on a top 100 anything, other than top 100 most overrated nostalgic cartoons. Show was straight up ass.
You guys didnt get Galaxy Rangers?? It was shown originally in the 80’s and the repeated on citv in the mid 90’s :lovin: (along with james bond jr )
One of my favourites… Gooseman’s bio defenses are too broke:looney:
Yes, I stand by my statement. The only good thing about the Thundercats was the intro. The music was repetitive, the plots were generic, and the voice “acting” was more like voice "read from a card"ing.
IMO, DBZ should have been even lower. Now realize, I loved that show when I was like 8-12. However, the show itself has no staying power and the lack of a legitimate plot kinda hurts it too.
