i feel like shows with no endings should get honorable mentions but not actual placing…just for the fact they did mindfucks on our childhood.
I read the list and saw TMNT at #55 and just gave it up after that.
Where’s Silverhawks and Ronin Warriors?
TRANSFORMERS IS #23…
Oh well, at least they had the best intro :wgrin:
That reminds me of Angry Beavers (which should’ve been on the list, by the by, Nicktoons on the whole are pretty underrepresented). Nickolodeon has a policy where they make no announcement when a show is canceled and the producers can’t make a real “last episode” so it can enter re-runs without anyone knowing ay better and basically extend the life of the zombified franchise. Angry Beavers not only had a last episode (it only aired in the UK and Australia), but it made mention of the network’s “re-re-reruns” policy, which got the producers in a lot of trouble. One of the writers has a podcast where he talks all about it and still slams Nick to this day.
But then there are shows like Pirates of Dark Water where they only found like 7 or 8 of the 13 treasures before it got axed, so you knew beyond any doubt it was over too quick. I wish I could find a clip, but I know many years ago when Cartoon Network picked up the show (probably 95-96) they had one of their network bumpers where it was a fake fan mail question/answer segment where a “fan” asked what happened to the last episodes. One of the characters said that CN had rare tapes of the them and would show air them right there as a world premiere, but we just got some home video of a cat drinking milk or something. I miss old CN…
Props for also having M.A.S.K. in the top 100. Only myself, by brothers, and two of my friends seem to remember the show
Am I the only who preferred the third and fourth season music?
Dum HAH Dum HAH Dum HAH Dum HAH
Just maybe. I wonder how they voted on this listing. I agree with a lot of you, more of the nicktoons should be on this list.
silverhawks was not that good…some of u guys have fuzzy ass memories. ronin warriors on the other hand was beast…QUAKE WITHHHH FEARRRRRR
cartoon network should show the ova movies.
haha wow i didnt know nick had some disney tv show esque policies. reminds me of disneys rules about a show not lasting more than like 2 or 3 seasons and then a movie deal.
It’s quite unrealistic to expect them to list everything in the order of our subjective dreams, at least they got the last 3 right in terms of animated series that has set the standards for all the animated entertainment of their respective genres.
I’m only disappointed that they didn’t list:
-EEK the Cat
-Hey Arnold
-The Extreme Ghostbusters
The last one being ignored isn’t much of a surprise, as it’s one of the most underrated cartoons ever created. Well flesh-out and ethnically diverse cast along with many mature references to various myths and legends.
Gargoyles should’ve been in the top 15 AT LEAST!
Nigga, I was only 7. I was amused by shining lights at that age.
Doug, Hey Arnold???
Yeah, Extreme Ghostbusters was very underrated. However, it took me years however to realize the black guy was played by Alfonso Ribeiro aka Carlton from Fresh Prince.
Hm, never knew that. I’m surprised that he didn’t try an put some of his breakdancing influence into at least one ep.
With that Angry Beavers knowledge being dropped shit makes a lot more sense. At least Doug escaped that shit, got a movie and a last ep via Disney. Rugrats technically did it when All Growed Up became their last ep which turned into the spinoff. Hey Arnold did the same seeing as most fans take the movie as the end even though the writers of the show had a lot of material left to end the show right. And I’ll just do myself the favor and not mention the debacle that is Invader Zim.
Evangelion was a nice anime and all, but number 10?! Too high, just too high. I can’t believe that it’s even higher than Cowboy Bebop. >.>
Arnold yes, Doug no. Doug was a little bitch:annoy:
Does anyone wanna do an SRK top 50 poll / list?
the show was very good, but kids got nightmares from it. any cartoon list that doesnt have jayce and the wheeled warriors, and no robotix is fail
I agree.
The production value was outstanding during the time of its release, but the bloated story drowns in itself by the end. It definetely has some of the most memorable character designs and mecha, but was not enjoyable as a whole for me. I would put Bebop or Ghost in the Shell SAC as an animated series over eva any day.
beavis and butthead made top 10! FUCK YEAH!
one of my favorite shows
