If you were a top player in the FGC

I wonder how Valle did at Evo? (I know how he did)

Anyway Valle… different people learn differently… And you arent the best player in America…

EC vs. WC 5 on 5 showed that…

Just be nicer dude. Especially to students. That is all.

This is what pisses me off about this guy. There seems to be a great training regime there, with regular offline play against great players.

And what do foreigners like me get? Fuck all. Fuck all local scene, fuck all training. You want to get better? You have two options;

Play online and deal with lag / terrible players

Or don’t get better.

This thread is amazing, page after page of valle telling people to man up and women telling valle to not man up quite so much

I’ve only played Valle once. It was at a RTSD session in fullerton. We played best 2 out of 3. He picked Ryu, I picked Balrog. He beat me first game, I beat him second, he beat me third. He then gave me a bunch of really good advice on how to do better. I see nothing wrong with the mans methods.

What’s the point of being nice verbally? If they can’t take a verbal beating you think they’ll be able to take the amount of losses that come with the road to being a top player?

Go big or go home man.

I can say my methods aren’t for everybody.

But know that you are entering a training session with So.Cali’s TOP PLAYERS.

Hard work does pay off and you have players like RedRapper that “EARN” my respect by playing all his Ban Matches.

The guy is almost always in a Ban Match and has the heart and clutch to stay alive.

Red wasn’t in my potential list until that night you declined that match.

Why should I waste my time on someone that wants to waste theirs?

San Diego stepped its game up cus of Valle, i cosign dude.

If i were a top player

I’d make myself accessible to the community and work with people who were willing to get better. if they’re not willing to step up, fuck them and let them stay scrubs…

I’d take a dedicated groups (car pools and such) to other regions as well. So cal has done pretty well with that over the year

Shady K told me to quit crying when I play, and quit giving up.
best advice i ever heard

Other top players have said worse to me, people need to quit crying because somebody wasn’t nice to you

2nd in NorCal Regionals

I never made any excuses, and I know where I stand in the SF scene. That wasn’t the problem.

And attitude wise, I think yours is bad. NEVER say never. People like us will never learn from playing someone like Valle? He isn’t a god, he’s a human like us. His brain works fundamentally in the same way as ours. If you aren’t learning anything from playing him it’s because you’re choosing not to learn anything.

I asked a top player to teach me Tekken and his response was " I don’t want to teach you, you don’t impress me.". As fucked up as that sounds I understood why he said that. No biggie, didn’t cry, just bought the game, broke it down and started to learn. Only so much someone can teach you, you have to want to it for yourself.

^^^^ True. If you get denied, do it yourself.

Dude flaming students is not called being a man, its called not being empathetic.

This.

I am a professional guitar instructor. I have so many students that assume since I have such great ability on the instrument that magically it is going to get transferred to them because I am there with them. If you want it enough, you can do it. You have to want it though. If you don’t, stop wasting time. I have so many students that are never going to get anywhere on the guitar because they don’t want it enough, but they hide from that fact.

Promote the shit hardcore of course. Upload matches to my youtube channel, write FAQs and guides, and work to get some people interested in my area and maybe start up some events. I’ll do anything within my power to spread the game to the masses and get new people interested. You dont even have to be a top player to get started with this, I’m already getting people in my school/town interested in games like SF4, BlazBlue, Guilty Gear, Tekken, etc. Getting other people into games along with learning new things/characters is really a fun experience. I probably would have never gotten into Tekken/Guilty Gear if it werent for the people learning along with me.

Trolling much on EVO and BF2 which were months ago lol?? Of course you conveniently leave out my recent accomplishments, but I guess this is your troll method.

Nicer doesn’t win against Top Players.

Have you seen an Empire training session? LOL hella nice guys in there

Reminds me of my High School music teacher; he would always politely tell me my composition sucked. I just kept working at it just to prove him wrong. This looks to me the strategy Mr. Valle’s taking. It gets better results.

(Completely off-topic, but how the hell do you juggle guitar and Street Fighter? It’s a serious worry of mine)

Well I am not trolling… but your last point is hella true.

Even though, there are good methods, and there are better methods. Empire just does what they know, and so do you. But maybe a top player will rise up that will do it differently.

But I understand mostly why people wouldnt do it differently… THEY DONT HAVE TIME TO. Everyone is so busy. So its whatever.

LMAO… same problem bro… same problem.

Sorry I didn’t catch this post earlier,

As a matter of fact I do teach REAL Strategies/Mindset approaches during my sessions.

Every player has the luxury to ask me ANYTHING anytime during the session.

The only thing I don’t allow is for players to play in stations they don’t belong in.

Also,

Me, James Chen, and others TRIED talking Wonder_Chef into playing his ban match.

“Come on bro, you beat him before just do it again…”

It’s not like I’m a savage in there hitting people and spitting on them, lol lets be real.

I do talk shit but its only in the spirit of competition.

<< 90s SF player

One thing I think will vastly help is people trying to learn shit on their own.

teach people how to learn shit on their own. so they don’t be going all like “omg, you’re Valle/Justin/Daigo/whoever, teach me how to play!!” Fuck that, teach yourself how to play. just cause I beat you doesn’t mean I want to tell you how I beat you. and for those who like to teach, just because you beat them doesn’t mean they want tips from you. some dudes will tell you to eat a dick after you righteously try to help them

list a few articles about how to learn to play any game on your own and set them up with it

We need more Skisonic/Seth killian like commentating for this reason alone
