Anybody building sticks in the NJ area?
im in southern california(oceanside/san diego area) i was wondering if someone could just install some buttons and maybe a stick into a hori ex 2 case… basically just replace just the buttons and or the stick?
the buttons on this stick are terrible, they break and dont work after like a week or playing any real fighting game with it, i dont smash or bash or anything just these are a bad buy and im sure why they are discontinued… anyway if someone can help me out this would be great, or refer someone who can-pm would be cool too.
point is i cant really afford a 100$ plus dollar stick but i can afford maybe a fee to install or something.

You can do that yourself. It’s relatively easy, since I’m going to guess your PCB is still there.

It seems like not many of the custom stick makers listed or posting build with happ parts anymore… it’s sad, i can only play effectively and well with happ parts…
which brings me to my question:
I’d like an arcade stick made with HAPP parts. All i need is a ps3 pcb and an american style layout with competition parts. i dont want anything fancy on the box itself, just a plain color. i’m wondering how much that’ll run to have something made like that and if anyone is willing to do it on these forums at least.
PS - i will not be able to make an order, i am trying to find a good stick builder for the right price so i know how to budget the upcoming paychecks.

ok… here is the deal… i have looked at all of the suppliers and they make great stuff, but not quite what i am looking for…A stick that works for dreamcast, has a solid amound of weight to it, and also supports a further clutku mod(which wont need to be done by you… the maker of this product)
… i am looking for a happ bassed stick(MAS-style) with 30mm semitsu buttons in a straight-6(american pattern)… a hybrid of sorts… all the retailers say “ok i can do that”… until i mention the wood i want used’ i would like the outside of the stick made from oiled teak( a truly waterproof wood)… with a panel made so that it can accomodate snap in buttons and the highest grade plexi( i know there is a similar product that starts with “l” that is better, i’d like that)… for the stick/button orientation, i would want it american style with a happ p360, BUT 6 30mm sanwa-rg orange buttons arranged in the american style (each dash representing a button ===) the first person to complete this can name their price within reason, though i wont go over $200 fof a mainly american stick. the thing about teak is it should never touch varnish, just a maserful smoothing process then athe application of a very high priced oil… if you dont want to pay for the oil… send me the near finsihed project and ill do it myself…other than the box , all i need is the p360 properly wired to the first two buttons in the ground chain, i will do the rest of the work.
asking price is $225 considering that i am offering to do half the dirty work, but… and i repeat BUTT… the teak used must be vintage teak(easy to find if you live in a shipyard) … this wood actually becomes more beautiful with blemishes, but those are for me to do, so it better arrive at my house spotless.

Why not buy a blank case… a pre-solder’d DC controller pcb, a MC Cthulhu, and put in the parts you want, the way you want it ?
You seem to know alot about the wood you’d like used, so rather than take a chance, spend some time making it yourself.
I’ve made 3 horrible sticks so far, and cant help but want to make more…

Matter fact, I think we talked about this before right? You currently have 29 post when our requirements are 50. You told me a mod told you can sell your sticks, and I told you to give me a name but you never did. FYI, only an admin can allow you access to sell if you haven’t reached the requirements. Until that or until you get 50 post, no deals.
Some people really should consider themselves lucky when Fir gets to them before me.

I know that it is clearly posted that we chould not make a post requesting someone to do work for us, but I’m having trouble getting in touch with anyone from the list of builders.
The people I have gotten in touch with are all currently not taking orders, and will not respond with estimated time for returning to work on cases.
anyway, I just need a custom blank case, no art no wiring… just a case with a custom button layout.

The reason you’re having difficulty getting a response is because they are pretty much all busy. This won’t help you much really.
