I completely agree. All of the quests in oblivion have been better than anything in Skyrim so far. Skyrim doesn’t even have the Arena either to spice things up.
Oblivion gameplay wise had A LOT of problems, but the quests kind of made up for them. I’ve gotten through all the faction quests and am starting to get through the main quest now and I’ve only been disappointed.
I actually felt the Thieves guild final quest in Oblivion was overly convoluted and took entirely too long to do. Getting the Gray Foxs Cowl is badass though, better then what you get in Skyrim.
Getting the horse during the Brotherhood quest is lols though, that thing was helping me attack a dragon. Damn horse does not give a fuck.
best quest in the game. You’re stealing something EPIC, so much sneaking involved, the path to get there was guarded like a mother fucker (I literally had to use EVERY SINGLE potion and scroll I had to survive, and carry all my loot back to sell), and then the final prize is awesome as well.
I am pissed. I need a new 100 foot ethernet cable to connect my PC to the router (fuck a wireless connection), so I can’t play ANY pc games right now, due to all my games needing a connection to fucking Steam in order to play them. So Im still hopelessly far back in Skyrim. Not that I mind, since I just finished Oblivion LAST FUCKING YEAR and bought it on day one.
hah, i just noticed that if you stand your guy in front of a pool of water or something and then rotate the camera so that your perspective is coming from inside where the water is, it will put your dude into the swimming animation.
oh shit it apparently kills you too, if you leave it for too long. my guy just died as i was typing this post - on solid land. from…drowning
So…apparently my guy became a vampire without even realizing it(don’t even remember when I got bit ) Anyway, does anybody know where to go to get this reversed? I kinda do want to kick some ass in the daytime.
Stupid ass question: I activated the Lover Stone a few days ago, and I know I can’t get the rested and well rested bonuses anymore cus of it. But do I still get any kind of bonuses or benefit from sleeping?
yes it does. If you don’t have an internet connection, it doesn’t give a shit what you have installed. I could mod it, technically, but that would also require an internet connection to get a mod lol. So yeah, I can’t play until I stop off and buy an ethernet cable tomorrow afternoon (or maybe i will hunt one down after work)
Skyrim doesn’t have an always on DRM scheme (neither does Steam for that matter). Actually, the original exe didn’t even have Steam DRM on it (just the SkyrimLauncher.exe). The patch made it so the TESV.exe has Steam DRM on it and thus launches Steam when you run the game. The game requires an internet connection to activate on Steam the first time but if you already do that then you should be able to play fine in offline mode.
^^ Soviet are you referring to how post 1.1 patch you couldn’t boot the game directly from TESV.exe without having to go through SkyrimLauncher and steam first? That’s how I run the game and another reason I rolled back to 1.1 from 1.2 (aside from 1.2 breaking the game). Since that method bypasses steam altogether steam says I’ve 1 hour played and haven’t played since 11/11. I haven’t even bothered with the 1.3 patch which was really a patch to fix to bugs they introduced in 1.2.
^ Jinsaotomex3 I want to skip steam from running altogether even if I can run it in offline mode. The game is offline single player. It should be activate once to unlock, never have to see steam again. If it does get to the point where I have update the .exe, either for DLC purposes or Beth actually does a competent job patching and I have to jump through skyrimlauncher when I click tesv then I’m just going to get a crack.
So far I’ve been trying to fix whatever I can through console commands, like followers not leveling up with you or their carry weight decreasing over time. Almost every quest has at least one bug associated with it. Can’t wait for the Unofficial Skyrim Patch, it’s what I’m looking forward to more than anything tbh. The Oblivion version fixes over 2200 bugs. I wouldn’t be surprised if Skyrim goes over that number.
You’re gonna need to use a crack. Even in offline mode, steam is needed to track achievements and such. Pretty sure those get disabled if you use certain mods or console commands as it is anyway, so not a big deal.
i’m doing a playthrough with a dunmer and focusing on conjuration/restoration. shit is fun but way more difficult than my initial nord viking playthrough. i die in like three hits so i have to be hella cagey with my companions/summons
