I think the overall aesthetics and looks of Skyrim are going to make it much harder to have proper looking anime mods without putting some serious work into the textures, seeing that there was a good bit of anime inspired armor for Oblivion that actually looked good. I launched Oblivion yesterday and it looks very plastic compared to Skyrim even with mods. What I am waiting for is for some good hair mods, since there’s a lot of good ideas there already but could be a lot better.
never mind peeps im working on finish my dragon armor set
got 100 smithing yay
seriously? All new end games take next gen systems in my experience. Are skyrim pc graphics so-so? I am only saying this based on my pc experience of the mid 00’s, which ruined pc gaming for me. That is, 2-3 games to play on the entire market that took $3k systems to play at full graphics. The biggest example was eq2, which with a new $2.3k system could play the graphics at only a 7 out of 10. Then there was crysis lol
Crysis was designed to only be playable at full graphics capability by high-end systems. The developers did this intentionally. Also, Sony developed EQ2 in the same way. Hell, EQ1 was the same when it came out. It was one of those games that made people go out and buy 3D cards, as at the time they were not that popular except among people who were already gamers.
Now, hardware has caught up. Hardware can do a LOT more than it could back then and not only that, software development is leap years ahead so you can have all sorts of pretty graphics done in a computationally economically fashion. That means your system really doesn’t have to be very advanced to perform most graphics functions. Look up hardware shaders. Now look up Fixed Function Pipeline. The magic you’re seeing today is more logic being crammed onto a GPU chip.
The 4GB patch really helps with the framerate. The engine itself still has that annoying micro-stutter-looking animation that they had in fallout. A lot less bugs and texture flickering though. I’ve only noticed some flickering at far distances (looking at the mountains).
Mods:
4GB patch
HD whiterun
HD water
HD blood
HD eyes
Bikini women
Non-dirty female skin
FXAA injector
HD furniture
The “no more blocky faces” mod isn’t working for some reason. Maybe it’s in conflict with some other one. Needs more HD texture though. Also needs better lighting mod.
I didn’t plan on playing as I have to finish a couple of time-sensitive projects but I loaded it last night then only finished playing a few hours ago. lol. fuckin bethesda has done it again.
Fighting the dragon, the damn thing was down to two arrow shots as it is crawling towards me and I am walking backwards while firing. One last arrow needed, he lungest forward and eats me whole. FML. never get close enough to be eaten.
Also those damn giants and their mammoths.
I haven’t posted here since before the game came out, i’ve been away in Skyrim and in UMVC3. What I do is play who I really want to play first then I try to go through allot of different character archetypes for different playthroughs switching between male and female every new race. At the end I will create another character who I will play the entire game with on master and do every, freaking, quest possible as well as possible and my preferred playstyle. So far i’m on my 5th playthrough
-1st Playthrough =Male Argonian Warrior who prefers 2H Greatswords. Leader of the Companions, Finished Main Quest, Werewolf married to Aela the Huntress
-2nd Playthrough = Female Breton Thief who uses Right dagger and a left handed 1H Sword, Dark Brotherhood questline finished, Thieves guild questline finished, Temporarily a Vampire (Cured) Married to Ysolda
-3rd Playthrough = Male High Elf Mage, prefers fire destruction magic, finished College of Winterhold non-married
-4th Playthrough = Female Imperial Warrior, prefers Shield and Sword, Reunified Skyrim with the Empire non-married
-5th Playthrough = (Current) Male Orc Warrior prefers Dual Wield War Axes.
-6th Playthrough = Female Dunmer Warrior, Battlemage uses 1H weapon/shield and destruction magic
-7th Playthrough = Male Redguard Warrior, Prefers using only 1H swords
-8th Playthrough = Female Khajit Thief, prefers, illusion magic + Dual wield daggers
-9th Playthrough = Male Wood Elf warrior, prefers Archery and 1H dagers
-10th Playthrough = Male Nord Warrior (Canonical Dragonborn), prefers 2h Axes/War Hammers. (I will always wear an Iron Helmet on this playthrough lol)
-11th Playthrough = Whatever I prefer
Impressions
-I play on Expert allot, makes the game allot more challenging, but sometimes too challenging
-I tested playing Master on my mage, and magic does nothing, the amount of magic drained per attack is just too costly for the damage, I HAD to get a follower with me so he/she could tank while I healed him/her or waited for my magicka to recharge. Even when I switched to expert it was still difficult. Novice level magic is only good when concentrated for a long time. Though if you can get Apprentice level spells to hit the damage is good but the magicka loss is really great, and I
was a magic-favoring high elf too. Though magic is allot better than it was in Oblivion by far.
-Sneaking is ridiciliously powerful, once you have the right gear and a high sneaking stat a good portion of enemies fall prey to easy 1 hit kills its fun still though slitting someones throat is quite rewarding, or picking off people one by one with a bow and arrow. Or hilariously casting Fury from far away and making them fight each other. I die really fast in a real fight, but thankfully for summon spells. Its also very easy to level up since you can just sneak when trespassing and someone’s sleeping
-Stamina goes down fast, power attacks even with the perks drain nearly half or more of the stamina stat. Often as a warrior I find it difficult to either go for Health or Stamina because Health is important for a warrior but stamina is as well. Espicially when moving in heavy armor drains your stamina really fast
-Some bugs/glitches here and there but mostly minor, a couple stuck loading screens but I didn’t expect a bug-free skyrim anyways Bethseda doesn’t do allot of cleanup but with games on epic-scales such as these i’m not surprised.
-2H weapons kill enemies fast but are very difficult against ranged opponents or multiple opponents. They also drain your stamina crazy fast
-Ruins have the same schemes (Either a fort, dwemer ruin, nordic ruin, or cave) but they all have different layouts which is cool.
-Main Quest wasn’t as “enticing” as Oblivion’s I really didn’t feel the world was coming to an end even though Dragons were popping up. Oblivion really did feel allot more implementive in it’s MQ.
-Thalmor can suck it
-Shouts are sometimes useful sometimes not, Level 3 Fire Breath is not as strong as I thought it would be, though Unrelenting Force 3 is crazy fun. Storm Call should be fixed and should not hit friendlies thats just stupid. Time Slow is awesome.
-I sided with the Imperials on my first run through of the Civil War simply because the Thalmor at any moment are just going to take over the rest of Tamriel and repeat History no doubt (The rule of the Ayleids) in the future. The Empire is falling apart and it needs to stick together, and i’m not sure whether Ulfric is power-hungry and Nord-Surpremacist or really serious about keeping Skyrim for the nords.
-From what I understand Tamriel went to shit since Oblivion,
-The Thalmor could’ve crushed the Empire and put a highly unfair treaty
-Black Marsh (Argonians) Succeeded and Invaded and took over Morrowind which experienced several natural disasters
-Elswyr (Khajit) Succeeded
-Hammerfell rebelled against the Thalmor in southern Hammerfell and The Empire released them not wanting to interrupt the treaty, and thus Hammerfell won against the Thalmor and created an indenpendent state
-The Imperial City was overrun by a Warlord (Titus Mede II) and now self-proclaims himself the Emperor (Late Roman History much?)
-Skyrim is in civil war
-The Summerset Isles (High Elves) was conquered by the Thalmor
-I’m either expecting the massive re-rise of the empire in the next game, as i’m not surprised if Orsmier and High Rock seceed as well.
-Skyrim is awesome in enviroment, surprisingly allot of variety depending on what part of Skyrim you are in, though I would’ve preferred the landscape of the area around Whiterun to be the mainstream terrain, as it fits Skyrim’s northern climate and “Scadanavian Influences”
-Dragons are a bit hard to fight for a sneaking character/melee centric character, archery and magic can only do so much to a dragon. Though Shield-bashing works really well
-hardest enemy thus far are Giants and Dragon Priests
-I love the random dragons mechanic, but I just wish they were more ferocious They don’t seem too dangerous if a couple guards can take it down WITHOUT the DRAGONBORN’s help. I mean a couple of arrows bring it down? really?
-Making “ideal” females is kind of difficult, everyone seems to be a 30 year old at preset for some reason as well as wrinkles.
I one shot giants.
I have no idea what kind of character build makes Dragon Priests easymode, though. Those things are a pain in the god damned ass.
One-handed + Shield, with Deadly Bash, Elemental Protection and Block Runner. Become a rapidly advancing wall of resistance to their worst spells, then when you close in, slap them with your shield bash whenever they try to fire off spells.
im about 60 hours in and still haven’t run into any dragon priests. been too busy just crafting, enjoying the world, doing random quests, exploring.
some asshole mage shot an ice spell at me now the ice spike is stuck in by body and i cant remove it.
sooo… 100 hours into the game with a two hander Nord… Actually this time they are not a useless race unlike oblivion, cause of the early frost resistence making some dragon and mage fights really easy and other race balance issues making Breton less dominant and Redguards. Only problem I had early on was adjusting to the bad weapon speed and the lack of stamina for to interupt some enemy power attacks and counter with full force.
Char is level 43 now and has two handed swords, smithing, enchanting and alchemy maxed. I can only recommend to get around 300 in stamina to abuse the hell out of the power attacks and counter out of the blockign stance to interrupt people from attacking/casting. The stun is incredible long and with crafted 40% damage ring and gloves for two handers, you do nearly 200 damage with a normal hit on a deadric greatsword… Loved the look of it and how cool ebony full plate looks. With armor perks you do not need, in my opinion, shitty looking dragon armor.
I think bound Archery will take the cake though. Bound Bow is deadric quality, gets conjuration and bow tree perks to add to its damage + ring + gloves = insane ranged damage with auto soul trap and auto banish.

New patch details. Pretty shitty imo. They did fix the button remapping I had issue with but no word on fixing any buggy quests.
I’m really anxious for some DLC now, not just quests but like some new features like the ability to have children or something. You know immersion stuff, farming, riding a dragon maybe.
THIS GAME IS MY BITCH
2nd Playthrough now. Nord 2H Warrior.
Full Deadric, Around 12K Gold, 100 Smithing, Few Shouts. Only Level 23. I’ve truly fallen in love with the game.
“The stability on SRK is terrible. Shameful is what it is.”
~ Scrub in Whiterun who won’t stop complaining about the security when SRK bugs up on him for the first time.
Yeah, it happens with arrows, too. Good ol’ Bethesda. Even when you revamp your engine, you manage to leave weird bugs in.
You know one thing that really bugs me about this game, as fun as it is? No Human Doorstop. I have good memories of trying to cram as many bodies as possible and watching them flail around with a friend. Though I hear you can get clipping issues with corpses in the wild still.
Has anyone experienced a lot of crashing since the patch? Whenever my friend tries to take a screenshot, it crashes. It’ll do it randomly too.
Oh shit yeah, I can’t complete the Stormcloaks or Thieves Guild because of bugged quests. If anything they should be top Priority.
I was once was the champion of EVO 2012 in UMVC3 and won with Hsien-Ko/Arthur/Hulk but then I took an arrow to the knee.
GOTS BE PRAISED
Let me guess, someone stole your sweetroll
What is a sweet roll anyways? Its been a staple in Bestheda’s games and now I want one. If its anything like Cinamon Bun I’m in.
