If They Ask Where You Went...Say Skyrim

no, auto levelling monsters made themselves broken, period.

And I dont like being able to change my sign all the time. Sure it’s nice to be able to do it, but I’d much rather just pick one at the start, and have it, IN ADDITION to any stones I find (ie warrior/thief/mage).

I also didn’t like that they don’t show you the stats of the race you’re picking. Sure, I can google it or whatever, but that’s besides the point

Yeah, they should show starting stats and classes should have different HP, stamina and magicka modifiers (though I thought it was like this already? I remember classes having different values for this stuff). In the long run these won’t matter too much but they still add some flavor to the classes. Yes, I know that bretons start with 50 more magicka (they are supposed to be very good casters in general) and that Khajiit have slightly faster running speed but still. Then again, the character creation in Morrowind was as flexible as it was broken IMO. Making a melee character and having anything less than 50 in one weapon stat right off the bat was the worst shit ever and if you didn’t want to suffer you had to go with a specific race that had +10 to weapons.

Fortunately there’s mods. For those of you guys that play on consoles and have issues with some of Bethesda’s design decisions, you have my condolences :-p

the reason autoleveling monsters were broken was due in large part to people selecting the skills they wanted as their mains which lead to your character lagging behind in strength due to the lack of bonuses you could get to attributes due to not using your minors as much. I still disagree with you on the signs as i don’t feel like im missing that at all.

I don’t see why anyone would choose to play Skyrim with a console. I have a friend that’s getting a 6950 delivered today… and he got Skyrim for PS3. I’m going to bootleg it for him so he’ll have a PC copy too, though. No need to buy it twice.

He should buy it twice, because 1) he can afford a 6950 and 2) punishment for buying it on PS3. Also, you’re a dirty bootlegger and you should get your hands chopped off :-p I kid, but what you should get your friend to do is to return Skyrim for PS3 (or trade it in since it should still have a pretty high value) and just buy it for PC.

Faulty reasoning. Just because he has a 6950 doesn’t mean he should pay twice for a game. Or that he even can. He’s practically broke right now. But, I do agree that he should be punished for buying the PS3 version. Doubly so for knowing that you’re about to build a gaming PC. It’s an i7 something or other (I hate Intel) with 18 gigs of RAM and now a 6950 pushing graphics. I should flog him for even considering a PS3 purchase.

Can you really return PS3 games?

Depends on when he purchased it and where. Some stores have a 7 day return policy, while Gamestop will probably give him $30 in-store credit (and proceed to sell it used for $5 less than the new price) or maybe a bit more if they’re running a promotion.

Oh, he’s had it since launch. Oh well. Too late now. Stick to your low-rez textures and fixed frame rate.

But I have the PC version o_O

Some people just don’t have the luxury of playing the game on the PC.

Na, I meant my friend. LOL

Well, to put it this way…

I could drop a $1000 for a pc for a game, or I could spend $50 for said game with slightly, slightly less graphics that I play with a controller on my big comfy sofa by the fireplace. so, yeah.

All skyrim is doing is making me wish I played Morrowind, btw. I am not even sure its as good as Fallout 3, and damn, Morrowind must have been the ungodly shit when it came out, given that this is really the same engine/ride. Too bad it looked way too complex/nerdy to me.

Morrowind and Oblivion both, Skyrim is there to break the new breed into old school rpg. That’s why when people I hear complain of the 3rd person view I have to laugh, that’s just a courtesy from the devs. The game should be played in first person view. I travel in 3rd person but switch when I battle or investigate.

So how do you guys deal with game breaking bugs with the main quest on console?

On PC I got stuck in a cutscene but I was able to edit myself out of it…what the heck are you supposed to do on 360/PS3?

My system is far, far below $1000 and it runs great. And 360 controllers work on the PC. There’s even settings for it. HDMI makes playing on your TV a joke, although I will say that sound can be somewhat problematic.

Not saying the console is bad, but saying that it takes a 1k PC to even get into gaming is purporting a widely-circulated gaming myth.

anyone know of locations where i can farm Orichalcum Ore?
iv checked a few places but all out of luck :frowning:

PC SKYRIM NUDE MOD YET?
mMmMMmmM

yeah its been out for awhile. I haven’t seen where to get it though, or actually looked. But I do want it lol

“is there a mod that let’s you have more than 1 companion? i wanna make a jesus character with 12 followers and healing so i don’t have to kill anybody” = 4chan Anonymous.

I… kinda want to do something like this. Though this isn’t too different from what a lot of people are doing on Master. I have read some people who play healers and just have the companions kill stuff so this would just be an extreme.

As expected, modders gave reptiles tits. Next on their list should be turning female characters into love dolls or various anime mods where you run around Skyrim cosplaying as Final Fantasy characters.

For me I’m just waiting for the Creation Kit’s release and the inevitable community comprehensive bugfix/patch. There are a few quests I’ve encountered I know are bugged and I can’t complete them. This bothers me a lot.

It’s pretty simple but you’ll still need the creation kit to have unlimited companions. You really just change the havefollower or whatever it is variable to always be set at 0 instead of 1 whenever you hire someone.
