Thanks jinsaotomex3! I guess I should have paid a little more attention
odin - Mostly just JRPGs. I’ve always been a fan of turn-based battles and linear stories. Maybe I was just intimidated and overwhelmed by the openness of the Elder Scrolls series and other similar games. It’s also really hard for a game to hold my attention anymore, my 11 year (and still going) addiction to MVC2 has given me some serious video game ADD. But Skyrim has changed all that! I have had the game for 48 hours now and I’m about 30 hours into it already. Sleep, work, and social life be damned!
I fucked around with smithing and enchanting a bit, but I didn’t intend my character to really be an iron worker. - n - I never want to break down the weapons I get with enchantments on them to use them for enchanting though, it’s always so tempting to either sell them right away, or keep them because I’m a massive hoarder and think I will always need things at some point. Which is why I have so many goddamn potions right now. : o
I want to level my Speech up though, since my initial vision of my character was a Khajit who’s kind of a smooth talker and likes the finer thangs and getting them Septims, but didn’t really lower himself to much thievery/manual labor, and wasn’t exactly evil but could fuck people up if they double crossed him. I’m doing one-handed & light armor and using the bow alot along with sneaking around, trying to concentrate on Alteration (alchemy) and Illusion, with a little Destruction, since he’s kind of a stealthy asshole and not a straight up mage. Sucks there aren’t more ways to level up your Speech.
I’ve only seen one random dragon at this point. After I cleared out Fort Grey Mane, I was heading back towards it and I saw one overhead. It ended up landing in the fort, but it had been occupied by Imperial Troops after I killed all the bandits. So it had like ten guys shooting arrows at it - lol, made it pretty easy to take down.
First I found some Orc that wants a good death. He one shots me, even if I block. I decided to just leave the dude alone. Then I found some dude needing help finding his aunt who was kidnaped by some dark elf. Me and the dude made it to the dark elf but he keeps summoning zombies and they kill me.
I’ve been doing this a lot, selling to the blacksmith near the companions ( the greymane guy) and both him and the other chick in white run are giving me shitty prices…lol, like 200-250 a dagger ( enchanting with stamina as it seems to be worth the most in the arcane enchanting screen but also tried a cpl others) and the fuckers reselling them for like 2k…I swear if he keeps bumping me, everybody dies, the Jaarl, the companions, everyone!
Edit: Just clocked, I think its the lack of soul gems and the money hog that is blacksmithing thats killing my money lol. sitting on like 100+ daggers, need gems!
I was doing some coastal mapping when a dragon randomly attacks me, was not expecting that at all. Took me a couple deaths to pull off the victory but I didn’t have enough room for the scales and bones so I fast travel to town and back and when I came back to the body there were some vampire people that attacked me too. o.O
I am pretty sure I am done with the companion quest thing as all I get now are go kill random creature quests over and over, was trying to see if there was a way to get with the head female in there but I do not think there is. I am always broke so yeah I definitely need a way to make some money. I have found ways to abuse the system already with my archer though. Just snipe at them from a distance for 2x damage. Back away until they start to go back to where they were, rinse and repeat. If the enemy doesn’t find you there is only a very small space then walk around in.
You never get the option to undo being a werewolf during the companion quest line either
Has anyone else experienced the strange frame dropping issue? I am running a Radeon HD 6970, all settings maxed, runs beautifully. However, every now and then, I get really choppy, slow framerates. I’d understand if it was upon loading a really big, detailed area, but it seems to only happen randomly. Anyone have any experience with this or even a fix? Tried the 2+GB memory fix, but it still happens.
from the launcher its in the settings. you can also tweak them by writing stuff into the .ini file.
regarding frame rate i have a 6850 and everything runs fine. Try using this little mod http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=202 which increases your game to run with more than 2gb (if you have more) of memory.
