If They Ask Where You Went...Say Skyrim

Got attacked in Riverwood by a dragon and the blacksmith and his wife are dead :expressionless: Do they respawn at all?

Skywalkin - I would guess that once they die, they don’t come back. Looks like you’ll have to load a previous save in order for them to be back.

I haven’t had any issues with the graphics and shit and Ive had everything maxed out.

I just found out that the longer you hold the Shout button the more powerful the shout will be. It will have a longer cool down as well. Shit, should probably look at the manual…

I figured as much, that is such a pain in the ass :expressionless:

So I killed a lady in the woods and dumped her body in the river. Hope she wasn’t neccessary for plot advancement. Probably should talk to ppl more before I start sniping them, but after having to kill that giant I got paranoid.

That’s another problem I have with the game. NPCs don’t show up on the radar/compass, so its hard to tell who is a bad guy and who is a good guy (or that anyone is around at all) until you either try to talk to them or engage them in battle. Of course once you’re fighting bad guys they show up on the compass but that doesn’t really help much at that point. I wish they would always show up as a blip or something on your compass so you could at least tell that there is a person up ahead. And if you aim at them or just look at them it would tell you if they’re friendly or not.

Playing this on all low settings on my shitty laptop. Still the best game evar. Prolly gonna buy some stuff on Cyber Monday and build my own pc. Really enjoying how the bosses at the end of dungeons are quite difficult(for me). Didn’t know enemies could use fatalities until a bandit chief used one on me lol

Just got married to see what you can do and nothing really, no option for kids in the game or anything. Don’t really care just wanted to see what was there.

This is what detect life is for.

I didn’t know there was a spell like that. I don’t really use magic too often, mostly just to heal myself and transmute shit. I want to get that soul trap shit you talked about but I dunno where to find it. I just made it to some city where the mage school is so im gonna look for spells and shit to use.

the court wizard in whiterun has it on sale.

Hey, where do i get the last dragon shout word “Dah”? I’ve only got “Fus Ro”. Those guys at High Hrothgar taught me “Ro” and the one that makes me move super fast.

So I beat alduin.

What the flying fuck.

This game is full of people wanting you to make stupid ass choices. Wish I could just kill everyone and have the story move along if you do that haha.

so i just bought the house in Solitude and i must say im dissapointed. thought it was going to be grander but nothing really wowed me there. still like my house in Riften better imo.

i have yet to go see the greybeards btw lol

After like 70 hours here’s my verdict on Skyrim - 7.5
Below I will list the issues with the game :

  1. The main quest blows and all the people involved in said quest (The imperials, Ulfric, Greybeards, other cunts) are totally fucking worthless and boil down to stupid ass sacks of garbage

specially this one faction, seriously, spoilers

Spoiler

The fucking blades, Delphine or w/e her name is… what a worthless hateful cunt. No, I don’t want to kill the fucking leader of the greybeards you fucking twat, I don’t give a fuck if you don’t want to help me until I do. That fucker is boss and you’re just a worthless cunt.

  1. half of the guild quests blow and they have absolutely no sense of progression unless you specifically decide to not pick up any major quests in favor of doing all the fed-ex/kill driven radiant quests.
  2. The world doesn’t progress at all. Your character is automatically THE CHOSEN ONE for just about everything which leads to a “we are trying too hard to make this shit epic” syndrome and yet no one gives a fuck about your decisions at all. NPCs will sometimes comment on your skills and such (I love how they comment on my light armor skill despite the fact that its in the 30s and not my heavy armor which is 90+). Arch-Mage? No one gives a fuck. People still telling you to go to the College of Winterhold to learn some spells. You are the Dragonborn of legend and defeated Alduin? NO. ONE. GIVES. A. FUCK. So now be a good bitch and deliver a nobody’s letter to some nobody’s inn in some town in the middle of nowhere, Chosen One.
  3. The combat isn’t Dark Souls combat, so it automatically sucks. Fuck you Dark Souls for having tight combat mechanics  Animations in general still lackluster.
  4. The game lacks choices in general. 99% of the choices boil down to “Help” and “Don’t help”. There aren’t a lot of quests where your choices actually MEAN anything. There are basically no “Well, I went and got your family heirloom, but now I want double the reward” or "I think I’ll just keep this instead (except for like… 2 quests).
  5. The game is clearly catered at good-guy warrior types that want to make the world a better place and it is extremely hard to play anything else unless you do most of the RPing in your head. The game feels a lot more like an action-adventure game now than it did before, which is odd because despite the fact that the content in general is higher quality than before, there are a lot of glaring problems with the RPG aspects of the game, specially the RP areas.
  6. There is no sense of accomplishment to be had from doing major quest lines. Quests just end and that’s that.
  7. Dragon fights are garbage.
  8. Magic is shit in general. Melee does a shit ton more damage and has better survivability, stealth can one shot just about everything with proper gear. Magic? Enjoy the same damage for the whole game unless you use the one potion that increase damage.
  9. You have the guy from the Thief series working for Bethesda now and while you went ahead and incorporated a bunch of cool shit for thieves, this is still like 10% of what they could have done. Where are the trip wires? How about ladders and hidden entrances to towns and other areas to sneak by undetected?
  10. the UI is still bad EVEN with a 360 controller. Works better but that doesn’t really mean a whole lot.
  11. Most shouts are fucking useless? Unrelenting Voice maxed is better than everything in the whole game basically and there is no need to touch anything else. Make the other shouts not suck.
  12. Companions die too fast. I gave Lydia a super nice dragonplate armor set (it was made using all pieces of +25% smithing items + a 50% smithing pot) all upgraded to legendary, included dragonplate shield. The items were also enchanted with increase health, as well as increased magic resist and one hand damage increase, but she still went down in a few hits? On the other hand, I could sit there for about an hour taking hits before dying despite having LESS armor.
  13. No acrobatics skills? I knew that there wasn’t going to be acrobatics in general, but they removed the abilities too? Like being able to roll and dodge?

Too bad it’s clear that most reviews seem paid as most do not address any of these issues, and if they do they brush them aside. Or they come from people that never played anything prior to Oblivion. Morrowind still shits on both Oblivion and Skyrim in terms of guilds and quests and such. The wonders of no voice acting.

That said, I still really enjoyed the game and got to level 45 or so.

I keep seeing you guys say the dragon fights are easy and I have to wonder what difficulty level yall are playing on. Ive killed 4 dragons now and each fight was a pain and I never did it alone. One fight a couple vampires helped me kill the dragon and the other 3, giants helped me kill’em. The last fight the giants finished off the dragon then chased me around for about 15 minutes. Fuckin’ jerks.

I’m not having a cakewalk against these dragons. Most of my fights have been solo except for that first mandatory one, other than that I have to run while fighting. Then the epic music hypes it up more. Most people here use internet assist it seems and I’m playing just pure plug and play. I play at the hardest difficulty and was thinking about notching it down some. So I was doing more coastal mapping and came across this sunken ship, cool! I like how my horse feels like Pegasus.

woah, woah, woah…woah. Easy there brother.
After beating Dark Souls I was fully expecting this game to be ass. I’m actually enjoying it MORE than DS. True, it’s a lot easier and there’s not as much a sense of accomplishment when you get past a certain zone or kill a certain boss. But on a whole, it’s much more engaging a game, yo. I’m pretty sure you have not rolled a pure magic class in this game. Shit is much better than Melee. First off there’s them perks that increase your destruction spell damage. Then theres the fact that your shit does hella damage and stuns people when you duel cast it. 90% of fights I don’t get touched at all because of that stun. then theres the fact that them alteration buffs make you take 30% less magic damage and have a hella higher armor rating than any Heavy Armor set could give. I’m just pissed I can’t make fly spells

someone will add back int the fly and acrobatic stuff when they finally unleash the CK. as far as shit being too easy, crank the difficulty up off of normal and it’'s no longer a cakewalk.

LVP - What do you mean by internet assist? Like looking at the walkthrough on Game FAQs?
