If They Ask Where You Went...Say Skyrim

The dragon encounters are fucking ridiculously awesome. Im very happy with skyrim. I just wish more.of tamriel was open.

Skyrim = GOTY

even IGN agreed, close combat is still lacking. Shield push seems OP at the moment.

My problem is setting up left and right hands. So many times I accidently click some shit, and unequip my weapons, or dual wield them, or some crazy shit. Definitely gonna take awhile for me to get used to that.

A few minor particle effect bugs so far, but it’s a surprisingly smooth release considering this is Bethesda…

One quick question regarding hotkeying on PC I haven’t been able to work through: Can you hotkey a left handed item to your right hand? I switch between DW and a shield, but if I try to put my second sword on a hotkey, it goes to the main hand whenever I try to equip it. Is there any workaround?

God this game is good lol.

However, Ultimate has been moved to the 18th here! ;_; so I have plenty of time for Skyrim

Protip : Carry a pickaxe around, there’s ore veins and such.
Protip 2 : You can equip torches

It’s an improvement, though I guess that’s debatable. I love it personally, magic is so much better this time around. I don’t run around feeling helpless now using it, using a spell and sword is a total blast, and I still get a good sense of satisfaction when I plunge my sword into some dudes gut.

Just get it anyway. It rules more than words can describe.

playing this game is all ive done the last 3 days…

i have no regrets! I SWEAR IT!

oh man this game is so damn immersive late at night

this was my face playing it earlier

I walked into some dungeon for a quest and there was a part with snow, a waterfall, and realistic light falling from an opening in the top

i just looked around and drank in the visuals for 10 minutes, moving here and there and slowly panning around like i’d be doing if i was there in real life

Close Combat - Still not amazing. But above Average, Made flashier with executions
Ranged / Bows - Fantastic, Huge improvements. Bows feel somewhat “Meaty” and “Heavy” and deal heavy damage
Magic - Amazing, Fantastic, Dual wielding spells with numerous additions and improvements. MY favorite combat aspect.

This game crushes any RPG I’ve played since Oblivion. TES is still the king of the hill.

TOO MANY FUCKING QUESTS, FUCK. 41 quests I need to finish and I have barely touched any towns. Shit is bananas.

Most of them are just people asking to fetch items and shit but some of these pay really good cash.

lol @ mammoths being stronger than dragons.

Giants are hard :frowning:

Sometimes dragons will fly to an area where you took down another dragon so if you see one flying above you, make sure to check old dragon spawn points.

I miss dogmeat :frowning:

I can fight Giants in the open area quite easily but there was a cave with Giants in em… there i cant kite as easily… how do you deal with em?

Oh my fucking God, that’s hilarious. xd lol - at the top fucking comment. Blasting off again, indeed.

I got one shot’ed by a fucking Giant for messing around with his mammoths, and had the same ridiculous floating off into space death. I saw the Mammoth icon and went towards it, since some girl in White Rune apparently needed a mammoth bone to be able to open a trading company, or something similarly asinine. I didn’t even notice the Giants til it was way too late. I tried it again after that, and hit a Mammoth with a sneaking arrow shot and a few more and it hardly did anything. o n o

Well I am playing a 2H Nord so what I do is use relenting shout so they get stunned, then run in and power attack (I swear I have learned like 10 shouts but I don’t know the words for them… need to get on this). I don’t do the shouts if they are attacking with their weapon as it won’t knock them back and you will just get hit. Using a companion is also a bad idea as they will just get killed as well. I am guessing a caster would make very quick work of these guys from range, but if you have to be up close, it’s a lot harder.

The glitch with the giants is funny, but it seems something that can happen randomly for everyone. I sent a bear flying like that, as well as a couple of people. Some imperial guard smacked a wolf and sent him flying halfway across the map. Your companions just fly all over the place and land and die from fall damage rather than just being knocked down for a bit and getting back up.

i dont know maybe its just me, the bow is WAY better than previous games but there seems to be some sort of auto-aim for the arc? like all you have to do is place the cursor on the target. only thing i dont like about being a bowman. im having fun one shotting fools from far and running away like a bitch if it takes more than 3 hits aka giants, mammoths, litch’s <— fuckin pain in the ass litch.

This game is straight up crack. I’m playing a High Elf, pure magic build. Haven’t found the need to go into any non-magic trees. That duel casting perk is nasty as hell.

I’m really liking the whole putting hard as fuck enemies at the end of caves deal. Fought against a spellcasting marauder and he wrecked my shit with super fireball spam like Krosis did.

I don’t get the appeal. It’s basically Fallout 3 in a fantasy setting and with plasmids from Bioshock. That’s all the game is. The engine looks almost exactly the same.

Maybe I’m just bitter but I’ve played Fallout 3 (loved it!) and New Vegas (Loved it even more!) but no. I refuse to play almost the exact same game with different missions a 3rd time. I refuse.

what? Fallout 3 is the worst example of what bethesda do. It isn’t “just Fallout 3”, it’s freaking elder scrolls. Fallout 3 was a bad elder scrolls game with a green filter, should have been more like the original fallouts in my opinion.

Skyrim however is an epic RPG, so much to do and see, if you enjoyed Fallout 3 I do’t see why you wouldn’t like this, you can really do whatever you want (and unlike Oblivion) there is actually incentive to do so and it is jsut plain fun. best elder scrolls since Morrowind in my opinion.

I just spent the last 150 or so hours before skyrim came out playing fallout 3 with mods.
Skyrim beats the shit out of it in every single way possible with no mods.
Have not played New Vegas but since that’s better than FO3 supposedly (as in it’s more of a fallout game than FO3 was), then it might not get the shit beat out of it as much. FO3 and NV just don’t have the variety of everything that skyrim has.
I fully expected Skyrim to suck and be more like Oblivion, Bethesda blew my fucking mind with this shit.

Still need MMM for Skyrim though, bring on the enemies!

Protip : When you craft iron daggers to power level smithing, save them and use them to power level your enchanting. Should have done that myself, oh well. Now you guys know.
