So I’m starting to do a trick with Wright/Dante more often now, not sure if its been posted up. I call Maya super and immediately DHC into Dante’s devil trigger. I then teleport with Dante while Maya is locking down the opponent. This allows for the unblockable or hard to blockable(not sure). Maya will hit low and I will hit high with Dante, allowing for a free combo. This works a lot because, a lot of people don’t know that the Maya’s last hit is a low.
A bit of a theory here, but Wouldn’t Chris’ Landmine assist be a good idea here? if Maya is out, she covers him as well. and if they land on top they cant hit due to maya’s protection and the landmine is right there.
My new team is Dante/Wright/Strider. I don’t know why I’m choosing this team, I just like the characters. Strider is good for Wright with that tracking attack though so…
I havent seen anyone mention imo the best assist for PW and that would be hulks gamma wave. It hogs up the entire ground area of the screen, on block and on hit it pushes your opponent back, and what makes it even more juicy is that you can easily land an objection off of a back air throw followed by a gamma wave. You can even go from investigation->trial->turnabout all in one combo if you time your air series so you land fast enough to OTG with it.
The only downside in my eyes is that a PW/Hulk team is EXTREMELY lacking in mobility. Personally i use PW/Hulk/Ironman. Repulsar blast is also a free objection and makes opponents think twice before jumping in.
What about someone jumping in? That could easily result in Hulk and Wright getting hit.
I was thinking of using Wright (press)/ Chris (gun fire) /C. Viper (Burning Kick.) What do you guys think?
Which mode are you focusing on? If it’s Investigation Wright just for evidence, you need some type of defensive assist. Otherwise, he won’t get much done.
That’s why I chose Gun Fire and Burning kick. Gun fire keeps them from the front, wnd when I anticipate a teleport, i call in Burning Kick.
To answer your question, though, my main focus is getting 3 good pieces of evidence. After that, though, just sort of be patient until Ican land an Objestion, and swap him out for his Press assist.
So, what do you do against people going over Maya shield? Burn Kick isn’t really defensive, is it?
Thats probably what he uses repulsar blast for, also when you call an assist its a good time to call out maya freely in position.
Better setup. Hulk AA assist and Iron Man Uni Beam. You get a better AA assist for Wright and a beam for Hulk/Wright zoning (press the witness for Iron Man pressure, negating advance guard whether Wright is in Turnabout or not). Bait teleports and punish with Wright.
Find another way to get into Turnabout Mode (or put less importance on it). Lost Wright? You have Hulk/Iron Man with a beam, or Iron Man/Hulk with that AA assist. Not all-in Wright. Focusing on any one character is usually a weak team.
Idea. Pair Wright with any character that has a power-up hyper combo (Arthur, Hsien Ko, Ryu, etc). Get two bars, Wright grabs/slip-up confirms are now disgusting. Judge DHC power-up into full combo, with the possibility to kill a character, raw-tag Wright back in and hold on to the powered up assist (think I posted about this before regarding fast recovering hypers and Judge hyper).

I currently run PW/Dante/Zero and I’ve had pretty decent success so far. I’m sure most of you guys figured out a lot of tech already and I don’t really think I do anything too interesting with the team. I do the usual things I’m sure everyone is aware of. But one thing I do that I don’t see anyone try is when I land a hit with Wright and can kill a character, I do basic air combo > land > judge super > dhc to devil trigger > air dash forward > j.s > full combo and then DHC into maya super if I have the meter or evidence. Also another thing I found really useful is if you have an opponent pinned down with jam session, I would run up and do slip up into maya super because jam session keeps them from going into the knockdown state which lets me land a full combo or just go straight into objection.
Wright doesn’t have a power up hyper. I mean Devil Trigger, Gold Armour, Morrigan Mirage, Amaterasu Slow, that shit. Things you can go straight into off of judge and continue with. Think of it like a more controlled DHC glitch (which it probably is O.O).
I am currently using ammy (cold star), PW (dog since the nurf ) and sentinel (drones). Basically as someone as said through either this forum or another PW should not be played on point but instead should be bought in through DHC’s so that he can collect evidence and back away, use an assist and then gather more evidence (which on average gets him about 4 pieces of evidences depending on the assist). Now ammy on point wid drones is solid as you may be aware of, and she can build nice meter through bnb’s and the such. However the main highlight here is the excellent dhc using her bnb using flame sword (launcher into M,M,H,H,H,QCF-H) into slow down, then immediately dhc into wrights maya super. This gets him 2-3 pieces of evidence. Immediately after this super ends use cold star to lock the opponent down and gather 1-2 pieces of evidence and run away to get as much space as possible for the slowdown super to be more effective. and basically sentinel and wright have solid dhcs which can result in objection into turnabout. I would use dog assist for pw solely because it hits low and you can fly/air dash over to the opponent to do unblockable setups, but if someone has an opinion on a new assist for pw please dont be shy cos i need as much help as i can get. also if you cant seem to do the dhc setup you can always hard tag pw in and to a THC wid 2 bars, since ammys super takes ages you can gather 3-4 pieces of evidence through the THC alone, but i feel like using the dhc above is more effective.
oh on a side note pw’s team shouldnt be based solely on assist but also gd dhcs and thcs that can allow him to keep the opponent in blockstun and the such which would allow him to gather 3-4 pieces of evidence at a time. so teams wid long thc supers such as dante million dollars is perfect for wright since it can dhc and thc nicely to allow him to gather tons of evidence.
Can still use “Press the Witness” to support Ammy pressure, or “Paper Work” to help Sentinel zone. “Get 'em Missile” could be good to set-up un-blockables on incoming characters. I’m guessing that would all ruin your evidence gathering techniques, though (use meter outside of DHC and THC for Wright).

Here’s an idea for people running self-OTG capable characters on their teams. Maya M, tag-out, OTG (raw tag should move the next character far enough to follow-up Maya; may need to test in the corner and with evidence search kara). I’m thinking after a simple launcher combo, slip-up and grabs. If Maya M doesn’t go far enough, try it with Maya H. Let me know what you get.
Yeah I like the idea of Paper Work for sentinel to get in, but i can still use"Get 'em Missile" assist in the combo and still DHC into wright using my Ammy DHC trick. I’ll have to check it when i next play my friends to see how effective it is or not. I think the next step is to find what hypers are the longest in the game so that we can use that to our advantage for PW to collect evidence using THC’s. It would also help that the character can use a hyper that can DHC into PW maya super so that we can use that set-up to gather more evidence instead of just going with PW THC tricks.

I tried that trick for the maya slip hard tag set-up you talked about in the above, it seems that sentinel can’t otg with rocket punch. However he only just missed it, so i guess characters with faster otgs like katana-rama and gunshot otg would work in theory.
Eh, Paperwork is more of a zone support tool. It would be good to cover Sent zoning, not help get him inside (imo).
