I’m going to test exactly how many now, I was going by some theory honestly
Ok I can’t tell for sure. On block it could be 3-4? Maybe 5 if they have to block the last shot?. On hit…maybe even 6? I’m sorry I can’t exactly tell how as stupid as that may seem, it’s been a few days since I got to play matches and maybe I’m overthinking their capability to respond. I’d like someone to help verify.
It’s true that million dollars is a lot more linear a super though, good point there.
My team is Wright/Frank/Ghost Rider. Shopping cart is great for pressure and push back, while spire is great for GTFO. You can even step forward when you call spire to stand in it and cover yourself more, which really helps against teleporters. Once Wright is powered up, you can use his assist to help power up Frank on top of that. And Ghost Rider seems to make a mean anchor.
I find the problem with Doom’s missiles is that while they can lockdown, the still can allow the opponent to advance on Wright. An assist that causes pushback and/or space seems like it’s better for him. And trust me, I fucking love Doom.
I was actually running that team of Wright/GR/Doom at first, but I’ve switched Doom for Frank and his assist and put GR on anchor and I’m having some nice success. I would just keep Doom on anchor, but GR’s assist is great for GTFO and a good enough OTG to help Wright land some Objections he couldn’t otherwise.
My best PW grouping right now is Ammy/Wright/Character that can benefit from invincible assist.
Basic strategy: Land an air combo with Ammy and end with a down headbutt and cancel to Mist. DHC to Wright with Maya. Call Ammy, dash back and start digging for gold. Usually this gets at least 2 pieces of evidence for me. I can usually get another plus transform with a Maya/Ammy combination summon (get opponent to block a normal, while summoning Ammy for the lockdown). Still trying to determine how safe Ammy is with the Maya shield tho. Depending on the situation, I can leave Wright on point to try to land Objection or tag back to Ammy and try to land a TAC with another combo. In any case, I then swap my 3rd character in with Wright in the back and normally a full Turnabout. This way, if opponent takes out my lead character, I have Ammy again and probably a DHC into Ace Attorney for the win.
I usually run Spencer or Taskmaster as the 3rd, but I am loving Firebrand in that slot. X-Factor Level 2, Level 3 super and invincible assist…It is poetry in motion. Also Spencer on point, with PW behind him and 4 bars…Opponent in theory can’t move because Bionic Arm is more or less instant and the Ace Attorney hits everywhere!
Something that people were talking about on the Zero forums might be worth exploring:
If you can get someone to block the Maya super, you can actually DHC into Sougenmu for some incredibly strong mixup pressure while Maya is still out. The weakness of it comes into play when you consider that if you’re DHC’ing sougenmu, it means that Zero isn’t in sougenmu mode already to protect Wright while he’s evidence collecting.
That said, Zero/Wright/Dante might be an amazing team. You have Zero/Dante doing their best friends routine, and you still have Dante to help protect and enable Wright’s evidence gathering. Could be really strong in the end.
Say, has anyone tried Sentinel with the bomb assist instead of the drones? Cause if I remember, the bombs don’t go away if Sent gets hit unlike the drones. So if you’re playing against a rushdown heavy team, I think it’d work better, but I’m not sure. Either way, it’s a guaranteed barrier for Wright to collect evidence while drones have that possibility to get you happy birthday’d.
Again, I don’t really know much about the bombs, so I could be way off.
So just an update on a few things I was messing around with on the Zero/Dante/Wright front.
1.) Zero can land most of his big combos off a PW wall bounce. You basically substitute the PW assist hit for his first ground string, dash forward with his M command dash and catch them with the relaunch, letting you proceed with whatever combo. I’m pretty sure you can do lightning loop afterwards also (my execution isn’t high enough yet to confirm). Note that the timing is a little tricky here - if you dash too late you won’t catch them, and if you dash too early it’ll bounce them against the wall after the dash.
2.) I’m not a Dante player by trade (still need to learn him), but in terms of ridiculously easy damage, PW assist wall bounce into million dollars is literally the easiest thing in the world and does 400k+ damage. I’m guessing Dante can probably teleport and land some of his larger combos with an OTG pickup after the bounce though.
Also in playing, (a Zero/Sentinel/Wright team since my Dante is awful right now), I’ve found Zero’s Ryujin to be a pretty effective GTFO assist. You have to be careful when you use it so you don’t end up getting Zero blown up, but it does give you time to get additional evidence. I imagine that the combo of Ryujin + Jam session and well timed Maya supers can keep a lot of shit away from you as you gather. Still needs more testing though.
Ooooo, would kill to be able to make Thor and Wright work together. Mjolnir doubles as a gavel, which makes Thor the judge (and don’t forget the testimony taunt). Now who’s the executioner?
Oh man, that’s practically my team now! Except my team order is Wright/Ghost Rider/Frank (with Wright switching in with Frank once Turnabout gets going). This team has some really awesome synergy, with Ghost Rider’s assist being both a get-off-me and an OTG, Frank having another good get-off-me assist plus combos that allow him to get to Level 4 or 5 in one combo with the other assists present, and Wright having that invincible assist that also extends combos for the other two.
I’m having a ton of fun finding stuff for this team. Wright can get into Turnabout Mode from a throw with Ghost Rider’s assist. Frank’s roll + Wright’s assist is crazy good for opening people up. THCs with this team rack up a ton of hits and allow Frank to level up quickly. Ghost Rider keepaway + Wright’s assist is also a fantastic tactic.
I may consider switching Ghost Rider and Frank in my team order, but for the meantime this order suits me just fine.
Many of UltraDavid and other people’s strategy relies on doing a THC that gives you enough time to get evidence and even get the Objection, well because meter is so hard to get in this game and specially with PW I thought of this team: PW, Morrigan, Strider.
Ok first of all Morrigan is to spam that meter assist and get lots of meter while trying to get evidence. Also Morrigan’s Finishing Shower can be really useful in THCs as it last a good amount of time and also she has a OTG super that can then DHC to Maya’s Hyper (not completely sure but I am almost certain it works).
Strider is in the team beacuse Vajra assist is a good way to keep stop the opponent’s rushdown because as it tracks and if it hits in the air it gives a hard knockdown which means more team for Wright to get evidence/throw evidence/rushdown/etc. Also if it ends in the worse scenario, Strider lv3 is beastly and is almost certain that you will at least have 3 bars when its his turn.
I am really digging this team and I think it can work, what you guys think?
That sounds really good actually but can I ask how you deal with people that keep trying to teleport behind you? Vergil in particular gives me a ton of problems teleporting behind me.
With Wright, Frank’s Shopping Cart + Maya’s shield is usually enough to keep me safe. Once I get to Turnabout Mode, though, it becomes really dangerous for the other team to approach me via teleports. Wright’s assist is just extremely good for destroying teleport approaches if you can react to them in time.
Maining Wright/Nemesis/Wesker at the moment. Nemesis rocket assist to help phoenix while he searches for evidence and Wesker OTG assist to pick up opponent while Wright searches for another piece of evidence before relaunching again. If Wright gets K.O.'d before I can go turnabout then I’ll just save that XF for Wesker.
I haven’t been too comfortable with this team, though. I was thinking of replacing Nemesis with Frank West. Could someone help? :[
