I don’t have the game, but can you see if Press the Witness can pick up after a camera OTG? That’s pretty important.
Can you also see if you can raw tag to Frank and get a camera shot after Maya hyper?
I’ve been using Wright/Vergil/Wesker. Mostly because turnabout press the witness has been great for Vergil/Wesker so far.
I’ve posted this video already, but I suppose I’ll do so again. I’ve been using Vergil’s rapid slash assist to create some distance for Wright, as it drags the enemy away on hit or block. It has it’s risks though…
I’ve also been using Wesker’s OTG assist with Wright’s J. S to get in and set up an objection combo with limited success. Some opponents have slowed down after I’ve collected all my evidence to avoid getting tagged with an objection.
I’m currently running Wright/Wesker/Vrigil too. The problem I’m facing is that I don’t want to extend Wright’s combos with Samurai Edge because, I usually runaway when I land a combo.
Also Vergil has his own OTG so I have some trouble choosing an assist for Wesker.
Currently having trouble finding the right assist to protect wright…
Here’s some
Dante’s Jam Session
Rocky’s Log Trap
Doom’s Hidden Missile
Hawkeye’s Kamikaze Shot
Ammy’s Cold Star
Basically any good assist that locks down or covers the air
i really want a PW team but im feeling like im gonna have to drop wesker :o
guess im gonna have two teams
Calling wesker to hit low while using Wrights j.S is a decent mix up when you’ve got three pieces of evidence, as your opponent will probably get defensive to avoid the objection.
Landing a combo or air grab then following with Wesker OTG can lead to a free objection.
Turnabout Wright is also beneficial to Wesker. Finishing a lengthy Wesker combo with his OTG while calling Press the Witness will cause them to roll out before the wall bounce, giving you the opportunity to air grab for a free Samurai Edge relaunch combo.
I could compile the set ups and combinations I’ve discovered so far if you like.
lol please do. i wanna keep wesker on my team
This will have to tide you over. It’s more Wesker’s doing than Nick’s, but if your opponent is familiar with Press the Witness they’ll be expecting a wall bounce when the assist finishes but find themselves rolling out instead. Don’t rely on this too much, as anyone looking for it will tech it. If done mid screen without a dash before the OTG, Nick will actually connect with the final hit of Press the Witness resulting in a wall bounce or they’ll just block and fall. (Watch for techs and advancing guards) In either case you should teleport forward to relaunch them if it hit or prepare to continue your shenanigans.
I know this information is geared more towards Wesker, but aside from OTG assist into Objection or a high low mixup with said assist, there isn’t much else he’s doing for Nick aside from intimidating the jury.
the problem is most opponents tend to rush me down too fast for the anti-air assists to matter much

pw/ammy bff’s? what gave you that idea? wright is legit.
im liking phoenix wright with vergil.
Phoenix(PTW), Iron Man(Repulsor), Chris(Gun Fire) so fucking gdlk
Vergil with Phoenix Wright is great. Powered up Press the Assist is great for Vergil. Vergil’s S is so big that its really easy to confirm off the wall bounce that the assist causes.
Some info on a couple of the teams I think are promising right now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lN6m_RoSs7o
I’ve been experimenting with different teams. Originally I was trying Zero/PW/Vergil. The problem is that vergil’s assist didn’t really help Zero’s rushdown as much as it should have, and it functioned in a similar role to Zero’s assist for gettting people off you (except it was only so-so).
Been trying it the last hour and a half or so, but Zero/PW/Sentinel seems to be pretty nice. General idea is that you open with Zero and tag PW in one of the two following ways:
1.) Killing off their point character, and purposely overkilling with a DHC. This gives you time for 4 evidence draws while the next character is coming in.
2.) Pick a time to Sougenmu and DHC into Wright. One in where the super is going to give you time for 1-2 evidence draws. Then protect Wright with Ryujin and use sentinel drones when you have space.
Seems like it has potential anyways.
I’d like to call this process of bypassing investigation & trial modes “motions to expedite” (where a party asks the court to speed up a process so the party can avoid irreparable harm) and “ex parte applications” (where a judge decides something without all parties being present). Those are real things. Cool?
Imo this is the recipe for effective Wright teams, at least for now (and not necessarily in order):
1 lead attorney
1 co-counsel who can help expedite and can also help clean up if the lead attorney dies
1 co-counsel who makes good use of Wright assist, whose assist is good to help gather evidence & to help Wright easily confirm, and who can help clean up?
So far it looks like the best ex partes are Dorm with ball super hard tag to Wright, Ammy with elements team super backing Wright up, and Trish with boomerang super hard tag to Wright, but maybe we’ll find more. Character order is either attorney/co-counsel or co-counsel/attorney, depending on how the ex parte works. Luckily all three of these characters are probably high to top tier and can play clean up pretty well if they need to.
Imo the most up in the air part now is the last one. Who makes the best use of Wright press or paperwork assists in both regular and turnabout modes? Who has an assist that can help Wright gather evidence and hit confirm into objection? Who has an assist who can help Dorm, Ammy, Trish etc? Who’s an effective character in its own right?
I feel like Doom with either beam or missiles fits all of those pretty well. I can see Sentinel drones being good for Wright & the expediters, Sentinel making good use of press, and Sent still blowing people up in lv3 xf if he needs to. I can see Ironfist wallbounce benefiting Wright & Dorm & press benefiting Ironfist. Maybe Super Skrull? Maybe Wolverine or Thor? I think this is what I’m gonna be spending most of my thought time on for now.
Dorm has an easy time picking people up after they’re hit with Break the Witness with pillar or chaotic flame, as well as teleport characters like Wesker and Vergil.
Any character with a homing hyper, or one that covers the whole screen…
So the team I’m going into Court with for now will be PW/Dante (Corridor Session)/Doom (Beam).
Some of the philosophy is similar to the mentioned PW/Ammy. Million Dollars should give enough time for 3-4 pieces of evidence at least if not Ammy’s 4-5. In addition you get what’s probably a better character in Dante, an assist that has some of the lockdown of coldstar while reaching to the top of the stage, and someone overall can take out a whole team by himself at any point in the game. Doom has been discussed and known to be PW’s closest friend so far overall. I think Dante works with Doom Beam than Ammy does with any of Doom’s assist, just on being a better point character.
Hoping things workout.
Does million dollars really only give you 3-4? I haven’t tried it but I imagine it giving about the same amount of time as okami shuffle. I thought about trying it but I figured its purely horizontal attack angle made it less useful than okami shuffle’s most of the screen angle for expediting. If million dollars also gives less time for evidencing than okami shuffle, then I don’t think spending 2 bars is worthwhile. With Dorm ball and Trish boomerang plus the proper assists you spend one bar to get about 3 free evidences, with team super Ammy okami shuffle you spend two bars to get 4-5 evidences, and all of them can be done in a bunch of different situations. With Dorm ball and Trish boomerang, you could conceivably even spend 2 bars to get 6 evidences. If with million dollars you have 2 spend two bars in a particular horizontal situation and you only get 3-4 evidences out of it, then I don’t really think it’s worth it.
