That cover reminds me of the cover to Batman: The Killing Joke. Hope there’s a variant, I have nothing against this one, but a variant would be nice
Not IDW’s work, but anyone else besides me adore the BotCon Timelines issue, Shattered Glass? The whole concept is so win, but simple at the same time. Wonder why I never thought of it myself.
I especially dig Sideswipe, and backstory. Would love to see this whole thing fleshed out in a mini, series, or hell, animated special (now that’s the least likely to happen, though).
Actually, I’m sure that was very intentional.
^I know
Gonna go read Starscream #1.
In short?
No.
It’s not Transformers, but a few artists from Dreamwave have started their own TF clone series.
Also slightly OT, possibly moreso - IDW has also aquired the rights to G.I. Joe. As some of you may know, Devil’s Due has followed the same continuity from way back when Marvel had the license. So they are asking if people want the same continuity to continue or if they should reboot the franchise, like they did with Transformers.

Either way there are a few pluses. They will pick up the TPBs again. Marvel only put out five, getting up to about issue 50 and Serpentor’s origin. And Larry Hama will be involved with IDW’s G.I. Joe so there’s that.
I said no reboot on the above thread. Transformers I didn’t mind since Dreamwave tried to marry the comic with the cartoon in a very confusing way (Spike and Buster being twins what the…) so a reboot was fine with me. But G.I. Joe’s continuity spans like 26 years, I’d hate to see that come to an end…
At the very least, if IDW puts out books like Megatron Origin that can fit in pretty much any continuity I won’t have too many problems with that. Cobra Commander Origin, Destro Origin, Baroness Origin, Zartan Origin, Tomax and Xamot Origin etc. What be these good guys you speak of? COOOOBRAAAAA!
Speaking of Megatron Origin, I’ve been reading it lately. What are everyone’s thoughts on it? I don’t mind spoilers…although it’s been out for a while.
It’s great! OG Megatron forced to fight in tournies up and decides to stick it to the man AKA those stinkin’ Autobots, hey these were not Optimus Prime Autobots, these were some fat cats pushing around the lower class robots. Soundwave becomes loyal to Megatron’s cause and OG Starscream was a Megatron fanboy! Book is TEH AWESOME!
Yea, the Autobots are dickheads from what I’ve read thus far.
Sent Prime looks badass though.
TF Spotlight Wheelie and Cyclonus are out.
Wheelie
Spoiler
Well I don’t know if he is a kid or just a short Autobot, but it was an OK issue, I guess u learn where he got the whole rhyming thing in this one Also it seems that the planet he is on has some connection to Unicron.
Cyclonus
[details=Spoiler]Umm kinda skimmed thru it really, but I’m guessing Cyclonus is REALLY old, since he seems dissapointed as to what has happened to Cybertron over the millenias. He attacks some autbots and then goes to some cavern, activates something, fights the Autobots again and then leaves to space.
The issue ends with the appearance of some Cybertronians/TFs that I do not seem to know. [/details]
AHM #1
Spoiler
was kickass, the ending really surprised me. Guess the Autobots had some trouble with their mission.
Dude I had TF AHM #1 reserved and they gave me TF Saga of the All Spark #1 instead. Ah should of checked it before purchasing. Well I’ll just go pick up AHM now… :looney:
EDIT: AHM ruled! All Spark, not so much. Mostly because it looked to be in TF movie continuity. I thought the movie was okay but probably not the biggest fan of it, ah well…
I picked up AHM #1 this past weekend, it’s the first comic I’ve actually purchased in over 5 years
The art was really nice and I liked that they used Masterpiece Seeker designs for Screamer and the rest. Overall, pretty cool start but it was awfully short though I did like the final page. I just hope there’s more story development in the next few issues. Paying $4.00 for that single issue was just the reason why I stopped buying comics.
I blame inflation mate…
Reign of Starscream #3
[details=Spoiler]Another kickass issue! Thundercracker sends out some drones to take care of the Autobot team; Arcee, Smokescreen, Air Raid and 2 others whose designation I forgot. The autobots make scrap metal of the drones, but prove no match to Thundercracker and Starscream who decimate all but Arcee.
I believe Hardtop was destroyed since I don’t see him on Cybertron.
Anyway Starscream returns to Cybertron and sends Frenzy’s data to BE analyzed. We also get to see Dreadwing and Ramjet.
Starscream makes some ‘renovations’ to Megs’ former quarters and checks in on a ‘construction’; could it be a Space Bridge?
On a final note, it seems the US military doesn’t want the Autobots or any other aliens on the planet and as such begin constructing their very own Transformers[/details]
hot damn, i wasn’t really feeling idw cause of the colors and art. but megatron origins is one of the best tf reads so far. wish there where more of these quality tf comics out there. gonna dl cyclonus and what else i can find that i don’t already have. coming back tf baby. bay can learn a thing or 10.000.000 from this, faggot ass motherfucker.
I just read Megatron Origin myself today. Great story overall, although the narrative feels a little disjointed at times. Soundwave reestablishes himself as a badass muthafucka though, so that’s always good.
megatron origins was so far the best piece of tf comic i read from IDW. rivalling war within IMO. i liked stormbreaker as well but didnt really feel most of the spotlights or other series. some of them are also really not my style art, like grimlock origins and a lot of other origins.
are all the DW artists also on IDW? some of them where fucking awesome, like the MTMTE books artist, WW artist and the one who did the art for tf/jijoe.

REIGN
OF
STARSCREAM
RoS #4
[details=Spoiler]Fucking awesome-
The Decepticons are complete building Starscream’s Cube using Autobots as slaves to build it.
Arcee arrives at an old Autbot training facility where she meets up with other Autobots who are gonna storm the Decepticons.
Prior to this Starscream learns that despite Frenzy’s being in Stasis Lock, the humans were able to extract info from him to build their own Transformers, oddly enough Frenzy was also able to store their progress.
The issue ends with the Autobots arriving at Starscream’s reveal of his constructed Cube only to see the slaved Autbots chained to it!
Oh and we get to see Elita-1 in this issue among other characters[/details]
