It doesn’t even need to be a dream match since only character is dead, and even then we’re not sure of that.
Uhh SFIII didn’t fail because of the cast. There were a million more important factors that went into it flopping. It came out at a point were fighting games were mostly dead. NG and 2nd Impact were only released for Arcade (which were in the early stages of dying at the time) and Dreamcast. Severely limited the amount of people who would ever be exposed to the game. 3rd Strike wouldn’t be released on another system other than the DC until 4 years later. By then, to casuals (who are the bulk of the buyers) it was dated.
We live in a much different climate right now. Between (a much more densely populated) SRK, Eventhubs, and 24 hour game sites and blogs, people are going to get exposed to a game. In todays community, if it’s SF everyone will go apeshit that it’s SF. There will be plenty of people who don’t care about cast composition. At this point, even if you absolutely love Cammy, or Chun Li…you have a million games to play with them in it. Most people are cool with finding a new character they like with affinities to their old mains/favorites (see: Blaz)
No gimicky BS that takes away from the gameplay in order to increase the sales please.
I honestly don’t want a SF5 for a loonngg time, I would rather them focus more on SFxT as I still feel like that game still has potential, even with the BS.
No SFV yet. Alpha IV or CvS3 first.
Considering Ono tweeted “I had a lot of opinion about AE re-tuning. We’re thinking that we was wondering what we should do.I’ll be continue to hearing for it! ;D” on the 29th Nov I really doubt SFV will be out for a couple of years still.
Let Cody be a hero again and revamp his moveset with his current one as a base.
Have a guy who’s like Hakan except instead of pouring oil on himself, he lights himself on fire.
Significant time skip, but DO NOT dump the entire cast. Keep the 8 world warriors bare minimum, but give them some new flare.
A dream match clusterf*** for SFV is a horrible idea. I always thought that’s what the Alpha series was for, since Alpha 3 was pretty much just that.
That would be pretty neat.
So basically, a Canadian She-Hulk with long, flowing blonde hair (since we haven’t had one of those in the main series AFAIK)?
And for the stage, I think Banff would be perfect. It’s in Alberta, has huge mountains in the background, some picturesque housing and doesn’t resemble any other stage in the series so far.

Blonde? I pictured her as a brownish red-head. Of course no matter what her hair color is she’s definitely a dark autumn/winter.
Yeah, not bad. I think it’d be more frizzy and messy, and she’d do it up in a ponytail.
I imagine that her family is full of wrestlers and hunters and her dad is dying or something so she’s entering the tournament for him.
As for her name, I imagine it’d be something cute and delightfully simple, like Lulu, Elle, Tiff, or Poppy.
We need to make sure to get an Alex, Valley, or Fah Ye character in this.

…Why, exactly?
Probably referring to having ISMs/Grooves which is what we’ve seen so far in dream match SF games from Capcom. At least, that’s the only “wrong” thing that I think they’re referring to.
I think he’s referring to the idea of having every single SF character in the game.
I think the only exception would be certain characters from SF1 because that game was shit.
I don’t see what’s wrong with this, so I was assuming this wasn’t the issue.
Even then, SF1 characters could be a source for new playstyles if they were brought back.
Maybe, but even so, keep out obvious losers with nothing to contribute like Mike and Joe. Mike is too similar to Boxer anyways.
Then again, Joe could always be brought back as an American version of Dan.
Like i said in my earlier post, Alpha 4 i believe is perfect for that type of game. Alpha series was originally a prequel to SFII but ended up being a fan service game by Alpha 3. Let Alpha 4 be that game where ppl can play their favorite SF character their way with ISMs.
SFV should be more progressive/risky. No more prequels or worn out concepts. What are Ryu & Ken doing AFTER SFIII. End most of these characters journeys and create new ones (but keep a few key players that define SF of course).
Old characters can live on Alpha 4/5/6, but let the SF storyline stay fresh & evolving in the main games.
