Thats the price you pay in the fgc lol
fixed that for ya
Lets see if someone can come up with something original instead of sonething used already and modified
Yay, self righteous, judgmental people stopping our right of opinion.
Cool people up in here ^
Also no one said anything about vortex [S]characters[/S] being played in tourneys…
Neither did I. The *and *was a separation of thoughts, meaning people were complaining about vortexes and in addition to those complaints, stronger characters being played in tournaments. By saying you don’t like people playing similar characters in tournaments what you’re basically saying is that you’re tired of people picking the proven good characters of the game to increase their chances of winning, which is what a tournament is about. Winning. And you can complain about vortexes all you want and how people just use the same strategy over and over again, but if that one strategy is good enough that you can keep doing it and it works, there is no reason to NOT use that strategy.
This is what is known as playing to win, and is the only thing that matters in competitive play of fighting games. People are going to do what it takes to win no matter what, that is what makes us competitors. You can Candyland the game all you want, but someone is going to find the strong characters, the optimal strategies, the brainless vortexes, and we are going to abuse them like there’s no tomorrow, because we want to win. It doesn’t matter how you feel about it or if you find it boring, because at the end of the day if I’m winning I’m doing exactly what I’m supposed to be doing.
I didn’t say don’t play to win or that I think any less of whoever does play to win, because obviously if you want to win you gotta pick the best.
No need to get your panties in a bunch.
What I’m saying is its boring.
Thats it… its an opinion. My opinion. A scrub’s opinion.
No need to over react dude.
Chill!
I’m very chill, I’m just explaining why your opinion is kinda ridiculous in the grand scheme of things. I mean, by all means, you can think it’s boring, you’re entitled to feel that way, but more people care about winning than whether or not how they’re playing is boring to spectators. I’d rather watch two incredibly high level players playing a top tier mirror match than watch two low level players playing oddball characters adding variety.
Just cos they use “oddball” (wtf?) characters doesn’t mean they have to be low level players…
A lot of people do well with “oddball” characters…
That’s not what I meant. I was saying people playing different characters for the sake of playing different characters do not make the matches good. Skilled players make the matches good, and if you’re watching skilled players they could be playing the same top tier character and it will still be a good match. People doing well with low tier characters is great, but if I watch a tournament and see everyone play the same 7 characters I’m not going to be upset.
These quotes are… something:
- all the stupid storyline posts.
and i suppose all of your ideas for SFV are simply amazing and will likely be implemented by Capcom. hilarious lol
Bro don’t go there man, he’s old school, this means he is > God. [S]here!!![/S]
actually he’s posted tons of good ideas and he owns
you on the other hand literally believe that the metric that capcom uses to decide what is implemented into their contemporary fighting games is defined by anything related to game design
so yeah, i guess good job slinging insults at someone who’s smart and spouting the equivalent of “if you’re so smart then why haven’t you created a fighting game that’s more successful than street fighter”
here is an idea
dont fucking make it
at this rate it will probably be KINECT FIGHTER 5
It dawned on me today that it doesn’t matter what Capcom does because the last game they made worthy of playing excessively came out 15 years ago.
Sticking up for your boyfriend. Commendable but nobody cares.
Remove all input shortcuts.
Remove FADC + Focus Attack
Don’t add more characters. We have plenty
Buff Normals. Shorten Hurtboxes on ground based pokes. Encourage footsies and solid gameplay.
Find a way to balance Risk/Reward. Not sure how, but Rufus divekicks and Viper TK Burn kicks are a huge example. Both lead to insane damage + free pressure.
Basically remove everything that’s scrub friendly. Make it harder to play in general.
So you believe those are related. Hum… Amusing!
yea we’re just two entertaining people aren’t we!
I still don’t get what Ono means by splitting the SF series into two different directions, one for the casual and one for the more hardcore gamer.
What does this mean about SF 5 and 6?
